Guests are welcome to roam of our farm/forest which is covered with avocado, citrus and personal orchards as well as magnificent large oaks and abundant chaparral . Private trail access with views of the Ojai Valley and Matilija canyon reaching into the mountains where the Chumash Indians established their sacred sites, (Hiking boots and long pants advised)
Direction to the trail:
From front of house cross the parking area towards fence and make a left to the dirt road.  it winds up and around the property. Once you pass  the little car gate make a right uphill all the way to meditation point.  This trail is  about 40 min. round trip. If you wish access  meditation point quicker you may go up  through the orchard up the hill steps, keep going up taking the  left when it T's and left to the dirt rd. then right uphill after the gate.
Regretfully the trial to pyramid point is harder to access and washed up at spots due to erosion.
Bike mostly on bike paths-  4 miles to the town  and 15 miles to  Ventura and beach.

Other things to note
The 15 miles of mountains that surround the Ojai Valley offer some of the stunning hiking trails waterfalls and natural sulfur hot springs.  We are well situated  between town and the expansive wilderness and trails off the scenic 33 Hwy. Ojai has a wonderful year-round climate with warm sunny days even in winter and cooler nights during summer. Being a Mediterranean climate , rain falls mainly in winter.

Neighborhood highlights

Ojai is 90 miles north of Los Angeles (100 minutes by car from LAX), 13 miles north of Ventura and 40 miles SE of Santa Barbara. It is only a 20 minute drive down to the beaches on the Pacific Ocean. For hundreds of years, the area around Ojai has been a Chumash Indian spiritual ground. Today that tradition has been extended through many world famous philosophers (Annie Besant, Aldous Huxley, Krishnamurti), artists (Duchamp, Chagall, Beatrice Wood), awareness/spiritual teachers (Katie Byron, Gay and Katie Hendricks), and the Theosophy Institute, to name just a few. Sprinkled throughout most of the year, art, music, play writing/theater, yoga, meditation, awareness and other festivals attract people from all over the world. There is also a wonderful tennis tournament and a stellar golf course.
The valley’s unique east west orientation floods Ojai with a special light attracting artists, accentuating its surrounding majestic mountain (most other USA valleys run north south). There are many citrus, avocado, and olive orchard farms thriving in its Mediterranean climate reminding one of Tuscany, Provence and parts of Spain. Hikes in and around Ojai challenge people at different skills levels.
Our property is in Ojai’s NW corner just north of its “newly hip” Meiners Oak section.
