Although we are very flexible, we kindly request our guests to be Earth friendly and kindly turn off all electric devices (A/C, T.V, lights) as they leave the room to enjoy beautiful PR. Also, we kindly request to avoid leaving wet towels with SAND on top of the "Barcelona Chair" and other furnishings as it damages and cracks the leather. We do want you to feel at home therefore we have included top of the line furniture and appliances, please help us conserve them for the benefit of all guests.
My father and I rented Raymond's space for our birthdays, when we landed in Puerto Rico Raymond called right away to Let us know he will be waiting for us at his condo. We were lost and late and we must have called him several times to get more directions, he was awesome, and patient. When we got there he gave us a tour of the complex which is in a very safe neighborhood with gated parking, he took us inside and the pictures don't do this place justice, it is very nice and clean! The apartment is about a 5-10 min drive to old San Juan which is where we spent most of our time, I recommend renting a car to get around, it makes things much easier, plus he has an assigned spot. I highly recommend renting from Raymond he made my first experience with air bnb worth it and I will be using them again, and if I'm ever in San Juan again I will be looking for his listing. Thanks again Raymond!
My husband and I stayed at Raymond's place in San Juan for three nights during a part of our trip to PR when we were mostly taking day trips around the island. The apartment is attractive, comfortable, modern, and a great size for a couple. It is also super secure, with a locked parking area, and locks for the laundry, building entry and elevator as well as the apartment door - you will definitely feel safe staying here! Having laundry, wifi, and reserved parking all make this a great place to stay. Although we only saw Raymond briefly when we checked in, he was very responsive by email and text, was very accommodating about our travel plans (including getting in very late the first night), and showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment. The only downside about staying here is that there are really only two good places to eat/go out in walking distance of the apartment (Cafe Macchiato with excellent coffee and breakfast and La Jaquita Baya with amazing tapas and sangria), and for everything else you need to drive (with San Juan's difficult parking) or take a cab. So it's a GREAT jumping-off place for PR excursions, but probably not the best place for exploring San Juan itself.
Raymond responded very quickly to my short notice questions and booking request and was very helpful. The apartment is small but well laid out, comfortable, and includes modern amenities. The pictures reflect it well. Assigned parking is a huge plus! Great location - Neighborhood is residential and only a short walk to restaurants and a supermarket, and a moderate walk to Condado. Would certainly stay here again!
We stayed in Raymond's apartment for ~7 days for our NYE. When we arrived and waited on-line for a cab at the airport, Raymond was helpful in directing the cab to the apartment as our Spanish is non-existent.
His home is ~30 minute walk or ~5min bus ride to one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Escambron Beach. We walked everyday to keep our fitness up.
His home is also a 5 minute walk to the center of the town where the major Grocery (Pueblos) can be found, and a number of English speaking restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is only a pair of bars in town, one that is outside with a very large projector to watch games and a smaller one with live dj's. Some of the restaurants also have live music during your meals.
We would primarily wake up, cook breakfast for ourselves, walk to the beach, stay till the evening, walk back home, wash up, and then take the bus ($0.75/ride, make sure you have coins, the bus is only a minute walk from the apartment) to Old San Juan for dinner and drinks. The bus ride into Old San Juan is about ~10minutes, longer if you travel during rush hour, but is far more convenient than driving to. Old San Juan is GORGEOUS, the architecture is stunning, the warm Caribbean colors are inviting and the people are very warm and welcoming.
Old San Juan is VERY small though and I would suggest exploring other parts of the island if you plan on staying for more than 5-7 days.
We only spoke to Ray twice during our trip, once we arrived and again the day before we left to confirm that we would leave the keys in the apartment when we left.
Ray was courteous and professional and we have no complaints about him or his apartment. The area seemed safe (we've lived in East Harlem, and is was much cleaner and safer than there), residential and very laid back.
Raymond was very accomodating to us with our early arrival. He is a busy man but made sure we had access to the apartment and all we needed to have a great stay. The apartment is beautiful and was perfect for a long stay in San Juan. Very central to Old San Juan, Condado, and a lot of other areas, but has a residential feel.
The site is a great size, and has the amenities of a great hotel suite. Make sure you check out Macchiato Cafe on the corner for coffee and breakfast in the mornings. The coffee and food are great and the employees are terrific.
Raymond was flexible with our arrival and departure times. Explained things to do in the neighborhood.
The apartment is in great location, clean and perfect size for 2 people.
We stayed here the second week in December, and we were very happy with the apartment -- centrally located, loved the secure, private parking. We felt safe in the neighborhood (all of San Juan seems to be covered in gates and razor wire =O ). The apartment is bigger than it looks in the pictures and stocked with many extras. The air-conditioning was great, the water was cooperative =) Everything was as advertised, and we would recommend staying here =)
