The Space

I live in a great house in Center City, with a guest bedroom and bathroom that you are welcome to stay in. Its new construction with a modern feel.

=== Bedroom
Queen-size bed, closet, extra blankets, etc.

=== Bathroom
Sink. Toilet. Full-size Bathtub/Shower.

=== Kitchen
The kitchen is available for use at any time -- just be reasonable, polite late at night, and clean up after yourself.

You'll have your own shelf in the pantry, as well as space in the fridge & freezer.

Major Appliances: All the amenities of a kitchen at home...5-burner stove top (gas) oven, dishwasher, microwave, pots/pans, etc.

Matching plates, silverware, cups, wine glasses, cutlery. Tea/Coffee mugs.

Or you can eat out. Philadelphia has lots of great restaurants. I can recommend several based on where you want to go and what you are in the mood for.

=== Laundry
A washing machine and dryer are available if you need to do laundry.

=== Patios
There are 3 patios
1) Backyard patio
2) 3rd floor balcony patio
3) Roof-top patio has an amazing view of downtown Philadelphia (Center City). This is one of the best features of the house. I highly recommend a glass of wine or a beer on a nice night and enjoy the view.

=== Internet Access
There is WiFi throughout the house.

=== Transportation
There is limited street parking available. Getting around center city is easy enough that you do not need a car. In fact, a car is actually a hindrance in Center City.

I am located about 10 mins walking distance south of Rittenhouse Sq in a neighborhood called Graduate Hospital.

There are multiple bus lines that run close by. There are also subway lines and taxis all throughout the city. If you want to be economical, take the bus or walk. If you are in a rush, take a taxi. I find taking the bus or walking to be best.

=== Price & Availability
I do a solid job of maintaining the price and availability calendar here on airbnb.com

Guest Access

Guest Bedroom, Guest Bathroom, TV Room, Laundry, Kitchen, Living Room, Rooftop Deck

Interaction with Guests

As much as the guest wants. The kitchen, TV room, and Living Room are all shared, but I tend to stay out of them while my guest is using them.

The Neighborhood

My neighborhood, Graduate Hospital, is great. Its quiet, friendly, and in walking distance of downtown.

Getting around

Public transit, SEPTA, is convenient. There are three bus lines that run within 2 blocks of my house. Using transit directions on (website hidden) Maps gives accurate directions to anywhere in the city.

Check In
  • I stayed at Ryan's and was very comfortable indeed. Although we didn't interact much, whenever I needed anything Ryan was willing to help. I recommend Ryan's home to anyone who is visiting Philadelphia and I certainly plan to stay there again anytime I am in the city.

  • I stayed with Ryan for two nights. He was very welcoming and helpful - gave us some good info about the city, places to go, restaurants, etc. Really nice house - great roof deck! Great location from which to see the city.

  • Ryan's apt is really good and clean, the room is nice. There's a bus stop that takes you to the city center just 2 blocks away. The neighbourhood is a bit weird at night but we had no problems. The metro is a bit far so i didn't use it much. Ryan is a nice guy, we barely saw him home, but he was easy to talk to by phone!

  • Ryan was very easy to get a hold of & was definitely a great host. We never felt cramped or unwanted, a hotel would have cost us a lot, lot more due to the local event going on & Ryan's home was nicer then any alternative I was facing.

  • Ryan was a great host. The place its very nice and clean. nice short walk to a lot of restaurants. He gave me good recommendations too

    July 2013
  • Ryan was a fantastic host! I was moving to the area and he was kind and welcoming. I felt at home the entire time. He gave me advice on finding my way around and which neighborhood to focus my housing search in. The room and bathroom were great with everything I needed already there. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

  • Ryan's apartment is great. It is about 15 minutes walking from city center. The area is good, but as you walk there from the city center, you will see that little by little the neighborhood becomes less good (definitively less illuminated at night). Still, it is in a good location.
    Ryan and me didn't actually coincide too much at home, but whenever we did, he was nice and willing to help.
    The house has a clean bathroom (only for the guest), a clean and great kitchen (shared), wireless connection, A/C, a relatively small bedroom (but enough for what most people would need)... So it is ideal for a short stay.
    I would recommend (and maybe stay again in) Ryan's apartment for a visit to Philadelphia.

  • Ryan provides a good room in a very clean and comfortable house. He was never in the way and overall was a good host.

    There are buses in the area to get you downtown but I usually preferred to just walk, it would take me about half an hour or so. Do not expect to be right in the middle of the city with this place, but for the price you are getting very good accommodation.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Ryan's. He has a brand new house so every is super clean. It is also very nicely done. The roof deck is a absolutely amazing. Location wise, it is close to a neat part of South Street. Ryan was very helpful and fun to chat with. Would love to stay here again and would definetely recommend it to others.

  • Ryan's home is awesome and very clean! He takes great care of it and is very welcoming. The room we stayed in was really nice along with a brand new clean bathroom and kitchen at our disposal. Ryan wasn't ever a bother and gave great city advice to us when we got there. I would definitely recommend Ryan's place to anyone in the future!

I've stayed at various places via AirBnB, all with very positive experiences. Because of that I'm willing to be a host as well. I like to ski, swim, mountain bike, drink wine, travel, enjoy the city of Philadelphia, and overall just have a good time and meet new people.
