This barn has jaw dropping charm in beautiful bucolic Chilmark. Tastefully renovated modern details in a historic Island farm and barn square. Perfect for artists and writers, girls get-a-way, or families with school age children.

The space
Over one mile of original ancient stone walls and mature specimen trees surround the Brick Barn. Located on a private 12 acre family compound the Barn is engulfed in serene views of meadows and gardens. Furnished with virtually all the necessities you'll need to feel at home and enjoy Martha's Vineyard. Fisher Praykle dishwasher, gas stove, SS farm sink, washer dryer, over under refrigerator, double vanity, claw tub, separate shower, outdoor shower, Apple TV and Bose Wave Sound System. Fully stocked paper goods, dishes, cooking gear, BBQ gear, beach towels and much more.

CARRIAGE HOUSE- For an extended family group we have an adjacent building available with two twins, a full size bed and one bath (kitchenette, no cooking). Furnished with mid century flair and includes a pool table and group entertaining space. Please inquire. Photos are in Brick Barn listing.

Guest access
You'll have use of the Barn Square, private parking, BBQ patio, adirondack chairs under the apple tree, hammock, swing set and picnic table with private access to a Sheriff's Meadow walking trail.

Other things to note
If you bring a car to Martha's Vineyard you will need to make a reservation with the Steamship Authority departing from Woods Hole landing in either Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. Reservations are difficult in the summer months and need to be made well in advance. If you don't get the exact departure you want ask to be put on the waiting list, that usually works. Not all cell service providers work reliably on Martha's Vineyard, but texting does! You will have a private land line and a fax/printer and internet. Bedrooms are semi-private lofts, up one flight of stairs. The bathroom is on the ground level. There is a separate shower and extra deep claw foot tub. The WC is enclosed.

I am a 61 year old artist working in metalsmithing and quilting. I live in the southwest in the winter and on Martha's Vineyard in the summer. I have studios in both locations.
