Was Great! An amazing view to wake up to! Upon arrival Jessica's father gave us a full tour of the property with his Kia utility vehicle, those hills are steep! We only stayed two nights and on very short notice, but we were comfortable.. The sheets nice, the bed not to springy, the shower was warm, the breezes were excellent, the mornings fresh. We received a remote key fob to the from gates with the cabin key, its as safe as you can get. I watched with high amusement as my Italian companion, Luisa warmed the left over pizza slices on the coffee pot warmer one morning, for lack of a pan (we could have asked for one). . We also evicted a scorpion from the kitchen late one night, this event was amusing only after it was over..but an experience non the less.. I would definitely recommend!
Jessica was a great host, and was an excellent tour guide. The accommodations were rustic, but we had everything we needed. It was a wonderful week.
We had a very pleasant stay in the villa. The view from the room was excellent. Very quiet place with lot of greenery. Jessica is an excellent host, very friendly and shares lot of information about the local places that we can visit. They have three cute dogs
This facility has a shared kitchen with some very basic amenities. When we went there Microwave and the stove did not work - but Jessica replaced the Microwave just in few minutes. She could immediately fix some of these minor glitches very quickly. Gas stove was not working until we left.
The listing says there is complimentary breakfast (if you call few cut fruits as a breakfast) This was a great disappointment. This is especially when we paid a premium rate for high-season. She ended up taking us to a local break-fast joint which was good - but she asked us to pay for her and her kid which is very strange.
Jessica was a lovely and welcoming host! Her B&B has the most amazing view of Lake Arenal. The rooms were simple, clean and nicely decorated. With the windows open, the breeze was just perfect to sleep comfortably in without an a/c or fan. We also had a small tv in our room that you could watch movies from.
I loved waking up to the sun rising over the lake. And at nights, the sky was so clear, my boyfriend and I laid out to stargaze, and he was able to see a shooting star!
Jessica also provides a delicious breakfast from 7-9am, which was a perfect start to the day. She was also very helpful in planning activities for us to do. With her recommendation, we went on a canopy tour with Sky Trek, which provided amazing views of both the volcano and the lake. Unfortunately, we got slightly lost and missed the last tram to tour La Fortuna Waterfall and the park was not letting us go on our own so we eventually settled on taking a small hike into the park and just snuck into the river to cool down. We also went to Tabacon hot springs, which I fully recommend.
If you decide to visit Rio Celeste from the B&B, I would definitely advise to take the long, indirect way, but it is also the way that is marked on most maps. We tried taking a more direct short cut thru back roads but ended up completely lost and driving in the worst conditions. We almost got stuck in a ditch and it really was a terrifying experience because we were so far from any towns or even real roads (I had no idea how we would be able to get any help where we were). We eventually gave up driving the back roads and backtracked all the way to the B&B to drive on the main roads. Lesson learned, stay on roads that are clearly marked on maps....
Our stay with Jessica was short, but sweet. I would absolutely recommend her to travelers who are looking to stay at a lovely b&b with a killer view! Thank you, Jessica!!
This place has incredible views and is very cozy. But the best part of staying here, hands down is Jessica. She's simply awesome. Coming there, were had no itinerary and Jessica was eager and excited to provide us with a multitude of options of activities not only in the Lake Arenal area, but all of Costa Rica. She's an adventurer advocate and we were so lucky to have stayed with her. The cabins on the property were great as well. Surrounded by the lush green forrest, it was absolutely beautiful and spectacular views. Would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful time at Lake Arenal Green village! Jessica was really welcoming and made our stay fantastic! The place offers an amazing view of the lake, it makes you forget about everything and just enjoy the beauty of the nature... The breakfasts were delicious! You'll get great company with the lovely doggies living there. We managed to do great activities with Jessica's help. Every single day was magic up there because of all the attentions she had toward us... I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves nature, calm and great company... :)
