Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The overall experiences were good, however, like previous tenant said in her review, they still need to put a lot of work in this apartment.

Let's start with good things first,

Spacious apartment, easily accommodate 3 people or even 4.

Old style apartment but it's clean and looks newer than other typical old style apartment in the city

Nice view through the window, you can clearly see alcatraz and some part of the sea

We'll lit when you open up all the window curtain

This apartment is by the street but noise level is bearable when all the windows are closed

Now here are the things that are not good:

The bathroom sinkers badly clogged on the first day we arrived in, it caused serious problems to our daily activity, good thing is Jesse fixed it as soon as he heard from us

Wireless router doesn't work as they promised, Jesse ended up using my own router, I hope they could fix it ASAP so the next guest could use wifi

Overhead vacuum in the kitchen doesn't work, hope they could look into it

Garbage is a big problem, the bins are located in the garage, the problem is they seems to never get dumped/emptied, it seems like the bins remain full almost all the time. When you have more than one guest you easily generate a lot of garbage so the garbage bins have to be emptied more often, it happened to us that we need to keep trash bags in the house cause all the garbage bins were full

    Things to keep in mind:

There is no elevator in this unit, so if you have a lot of luggages you could get in the apartment using the garage on Bret Harte street instead of Bay Street so you don't have to climb up stairs. But keep in mind there are other people living in this building as we'll, so be very careful not to damage their cars and be quite

This building is in between two other buildings which have awesome mural, when you step out balcony you may find pedestrians(often tourists) taking photos towards the direction right to where you are standing so if you do mind you might want to stay away from cameras

Overall we had very good experiences with this apartment, however to me I have a strong feeling that they don't put a lot of care in this apartment and it really showed. You should still check everything to see whether or not it works even you know people may never use it, things are getting neglected here, like previous guest said in her review, they should put a lot of work in quality control

  • Awesome location and quite spacious.
Everything was clean and tidy and our family consisting of 2 adults and 2 kids were able to find their own space.
Dealing with Jesse was very easy.
    Highly recommended and good value

  • We stayed at Waterfront Vista for 1 month. That was a great place and a very comfortable and stylish unit. We enjoyed our staying so much and we recommend it to everyone, but just notice if you have a big luggage, it can be difficult to lift it upstairs, cause it has no elevator or possibility to roll bags... Anyway the place was amazing, really awesome location, lots of stores and good restaurants in walking distance, really beautiful window view.

  • The place is great, clean, well-kept-up. My wife and I took the bedroom while our 9-year-old used the pull-out sofa in the living room. The place is small for an apartment (ours in NYC is no bigger) but much larger and cheaper than a hotel room in the area. A very usable kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, wifi and cable tv with plenty of channels. The large windows look out over the bay (you're just high enough on a hill to get excellent views of Alcatraz). A few too many mirrors for my taste and there's no real privacy in the bedroom, but those are minor faults. Compared to any hotel room at even $100 more/night...well it doesn't compare.

The one real complaint I have is that you need to pick up the keys to the unit at an office near the Haight -- about 4 miles away. They did send an email stating the address of the office but I assumed it was near the apartment. Just be aware of that especially if you're cabbing in from BART or the airport. They do offer a service to mail the key in advance for a fee -- I'd take them up on that if I stay here in the future. That being said, the staff I dealt with were pleasant, easy-going and professional.

  • We loved our stay at the Waterfront Vista apartment on Bay St. What an ideal place. As a family with kids the space was perfect (and surprisingly more spacious that the impression given by the pictures online). The space would clearly be ideal for a romantic getaway for a couple as well. The view of the Bay and Alcatraz right out the very big picture windows made us feel so connected to the iconic San Francisco we were hoping to experience. The location was PERFECT, especially for us wanting easy access to the family friendly areas and classic SF attractions (steps from Fisherman's wharf and cable car lines two blocks away on either side). The place is very well equipped with all you will need (including some great area guide books and videos &DVDs we appreciated). Other nice things about the location that are worth noting: A Wallgreens drugstore open til midnight next door (down the hill) that sells Muni passes (good for cable cars and other public transit). and both a Trader Joes and a Safeway a couple blocks away (in the direction of Fisherman's Wharf) where you can pick up all you need to cook in the apt's very nice kitchen.
Checking in and out went very smooth. Other reviewers have noted a hassle factor in key pick up and drop off. We came into town with a rent a car and so going to pick up the key near Buena Vista Park turned out to be a nice chance to drive through and see additional neighborhoods in the city. Leaving, however, we did not have the car and had to get out to the airport early the day we checked out. We opted for the charged service of leaving the key at the apt. It cost $25. It would be nice to be able to, at a minimum, leave the key at the apartment upon departure and not be charged. That's one small complaint in an otherwise ideal apartment, managed with professional efficient service with no hitches or problems. Thanks Jessie!

  • My boyfriend, our friend Mark and I all stayed in this apartment together while visiting San Fran. It is a very nice, clean space with enough room for probably 4 people. Since it's a rental, we had the place to ourselves, no host included. The area is good, even though it is very close to the very touristy/crowded Fisherman's Wharf, it's somewhat off the beaten path. There seems to be a good amount of transit running from this area that can take you all over SF.

Keep in mind that, since this is a rental through Casa Buena Vista Rentals, the total price shown on Airbnb will be lower than the actual total, because they charge some additional hotel taxes (for cleaning and maintenance I think). Since we didn't foresee that, that was a negative aspect of the experience. But that's the price you pay for a nice clean whole apartment in a decent neighborhood! Much better than a hotel too.

  • The house is situated in a good area, not far from the tourist area, which may be a good or a bad thing depending on your aim visiting the city.

It is full-equiped, it also has washing machine and dryer (although the web ad didn't said this).

They also replied all our emails and helped us with other stuff (parking) during our staying.

  • Expected shampoo. The three keys could have been labelled so we didn't have to stand so long in the pouring rain trying to open the doors. Otherwise - a fine place. Getting to and then back to the key drop was tiresome. Great view!
