The perfect home base in the most interesting and fun part of SF. Period :-) Thank you Tania and Mickey!
This property comes highly recommended! Our hosts easy to communicate with, they had prepared the home beautifully & it was tidy, clean & well organised. The location is superb - it's close to many of San Frans famous areas, right across from the park for evening walks or sundown, and walking distance to many great restaurants. This is a wonderful place to base yourself for a holiday, business trip or family vacation. Thank you!!!!
First and foremost, Mickey is such a wonderful and personable host. He worked closely with me, constructively trying to make the most out of the experience for myself, my family, and a friend. His space was not only beautiful and comfortable, but the plans and recommendations that he had provided were exactly what we needed to see and experience the most out of San Francisco. First, let me start with the location; it is in a beautiful neighborhood overlooking the gorgeous and lively Dolores park. It is a sight to behold on the weekends, and the noise of the park never reaches the home. The private entrance creates a private and secure environment. I have never stayed at a house in San Francisco, and I was quick to notice the lack of space in and in between homes. In this home, the layout makes most of the space, as the main floor includes a clean, newly modeled, and appliance available kitchen as well as an incredible living/family room. This area facilitates great interaction between everyone staying due to it's comfortable couches and modern furniture, as well as a fantastic entertainment system. From there, there is a loft/bed 1 floor up, and two bedrooms on the floor below. All rooms are furnished beautifully in a modern kind of way. The patio and outdoor area is a great place to hang out as well. The openness in the home was great in that you always feel in tune with what's going on at all times no matter what room you're in. But with the openness and close proximity between neighboring residences, the one thing is is that I don't know if it creates an echo or naturally amplifies sound. Aside from trying to monitor your volume, as should any respectful guests do, we felt so much at home.
Location wise, it is a 10-20 minute walk to the nearest Bart stations. It is also a s trash in trash bags, but could not locate where to dispose of it. Come to find out, he has the place professionally cleaned after every stay. This was such a relief in that we were instructed to just leave our towels (which he warmly provided) in the bathrooms, and I assume dishes and the said-trash, for the cleaning crew to take care of. This not only brought us relief, but just added to our wonderful experience.
I do highly recommend this place to anyone visiting San Francisco. Not only are you in for one of the best stays ever, but also with the best host.
I’d say that Mickey’s place is a home away from home, but honestly, I’ve never lived anywhere nearly as cool as this house! It’s a wonderful combination of clean, contemporary design and homey comfort. On sunny days, it felt like the whole interior was bathed in sunlight. There’s plenty of room to spread out and there are many options for sleeping areas, which makes it ideal for a group of friends (like mine) because we could comfortably hang out without feeling like we were constantly invading each other’s privacy. And it felt like absolute luxury to have three separate bathrooms! The master bath, in particular, is amazing.
I loved that the house was set back from the street a little, so coming back to it each day felt like entering a quiet and peaceful retreat house.
Most of all, I truly appreciated how thoughtful and responsive Mickey was in all of his explanations about the house and neighborhood, and in all of our communications. It’s such a relief to not feel adrift when you're staying in a different city. Mickey took great care to make sure we felt welcome, secure and comfortable. I completely recommend this place and would stay there again in a heartbeat!
I would highly recommend staying here!
The apartment was comfortable, fully equipped (Awesome kitchen) and super clean. Having all those shops and restaurants (Tartine especially) within five minutes walk was ideal. Also, the apartment is located in the best area in Mission District. Dolores park is just across the street with fabulous view of San Francisco skyline.
Definitely enjoy the stay at Mickey's place.
Really lovely home, right next to a lively park and great shops/restaurants for food. Was very clean on arrival and there was a good guide book to give us ideas for things to do. Would recommend this place if you are ever looking to rent in San Francisco.
I visited San Francisco many years ago as a tourist, and fell in love with the city.
I told myself I'd come back, and I did!
I moved to San Francisco 7 years ago, from the East Coast, for work.
During the winter, I'm up in Tahoe snowboarding almost every weekend. The rest of the year I enjoy discovering new music and restaurants. When the wind is good, my latest hobby is sailing around the Bay with friends.
I love to travel and try to do it as often as possible.
When I travel, I appreciate the hospitality of others and hope to return that hospitality when I have guests stay at my house.
I want you to feel welcomed and fall in love with San Francisco, like I did.
