Villa Asmara has a huge private deck and meditation garden right on the edge of the rice fields with both sunrise and mountain views to the north as well as a panoramic vista of the terraces to the north and west. A tastefully furnished open plan living room with fully retractable doors and a full kitchen allows for indoor/outdoor living and the spacious master bedroom is designed for intimacy and privacy with its canopied oversized queen bed and rich decor.

Designed for personal indulgence, the en-suite stone and granite garden bathroom comes with a lovely rain shower and a unique open "museum style" sculpture frame wall looking out to a Buddha in the garden. The location is perfect too, walkable to main restaurants, yoga studios and central Ubud whilst still being hidden away in its own little village.

One of the favorites of Asmara's guests is to awaken before dawn and watch the early light lift the mist over the ocean of rice and experience a Bali Sunrise right from your private deck with coffee in hand. It's an experience like no other in Bali. Stay long enough and you'll experience the whole cycle of rice cultivation from planting to harvesting and the local religious festivals celebrating Bali's unique cultural heritage.

The huge 15 meter infinity pool at Harmony on the edge of the rice fields is only steps away from your private villa through Harmony's lush landscaping. The pool is situated on the very edge of the bluff overlooking the rice and has a shallow end seating area for relaxing after you've done your laps! It's central for use by the five villas at Harmony yet due to its size and differing guest schedules, it's rare not to have it to yourself. We don't have pool hours so feel free to take a moonlight swim at 3 am!

Staff at the villa will help you with all your needs from the wonderful daily cooked breakfasts of delicious pancakes or eggs, fresh tropical fruit tea or coffee and juice to start your day in paradise, arranging tours and sightseeing, car or scooter rental, personal laundry and itineraries as well as giving you tips for the best shopping and massage in Ubud.

A private chef can also be arranged to cook you traditional Indonesian cuisine right in the privacy of your own villa in your fully equipped kitchen. Or book a private cooking class with our very reasonable and amazing private chef! We can also organize lunch or evening dining in your villa - just ask our staff at check in and they'll take good care of you. There are several small warungs (restaurants) within walking distance and we're only minutes away from all the restaurants in Ubud.

For those wishing to cook for themselves, we are only one mile away from the main supermarket (Coco supermarket) so you'll be able to stock up with local provisions.

Villa Asmara is located on the edge of a huge rice paddy in the village of Lodtunduh, about 2.5 km from Ubud and not far from the Monkey Forest and all the world class shopping on Hanuman Street and the cultural activities and restaurants in Ubud. We are very centrally located for all of Bali's sights and activities. Sanur beach is close (about 12 miles) and Seminyak. Kuta and Legian are easy drives for a whole day out with a different vibe. Or you can go up the hill to Kintamani and the hot springs at Lake Batur in an hour or so. Temples abound everywhere - from Besakih, the "Mother Temple" to Tanah Lot on the ocean (two of the most famous and holy) and we can organize tours to anywhere on the island and to Lombok too....

Lodtunduh is very close to Ubud center but very quiet and peaceful. It's a village of farmers and artisans. Villagers can be seen grooming their fighting cocks, drying rice on the road, or participating in the numerous religious festivals.

It's cooler in the Ubud area than the beach. A/C is not needed at Harmony due to our location right on the edge of the rice fields. We almost always get a breeze and Asmara's open plan living and private bedroom have 2 powerful overhead fans and a high ceiling to keep the air flowing. The breezes complemented by ceiling fans are usually enough to keep you cool even at the warmest time of year. You'll find our open tropical design for indoor/outdoor living works for your comfort.

Your villa stay includes daily breakfast (for up to two people), free wifi (fiber optic connection and as fast a speed you'll get in the Ubud area), a laptop sized safe, fully equipped kitchen, towels, TV/DVD, parking, laundry (by arrangement), daily staff service, nighttime security staff, a yoga deck, sun loungers and the priceless ambiance of the Harmony lifestyle.

We have a flexible check in and out time and are happy to accommodate you if you are coming from outside of Bali. Airport pickup and drop off can also be arranged for an additional fee. Motor bike, scooter, push bike and car rental is available on site.

There is staff on the property for daily housekeeping and garden maintenance. They will take wonderful care of you and treat you as part of their family during your stay.

*** Please also note we must collect a 10% Indonesian government hotel tax payable upon check in which is payable in US$ or Indonesian Rupiah.

We can also arrange the following services:
• Yoga classes
• Massage
• Car rental
• Car and driver
• Scooter rental
• Bike rental
• Laundry service (Extra charge)
• Tours and sightseeing
• Airport pickup and delivery (Extra charge)

Staff will meet you upon arrival at Harmony, show you to your villa and provide you with keys, wifi password and the house manual with suggestions on all the local sights to see, restaurants to visit and local tours for enhancing your stay.

... and finally .... enjoy the wonderful cycle of the rice paddies! Depending on when you visit you’ll see the fascinating cycle of rice farming from preparing the fields, planting seedlings, thinning out the new rice, watching the ducks do their amazing dances, to harvesting, threshing and drying. It’s one of the best things about visiting Harmony! The cycle is fascinating to watch no matter when you come!

Guest access

Asmara guests can use all the facilities at Harmony. Harmony has a beautiful 15 meter infinity pool with an unobstructed right on the edge of the rice fields that's perfect for laps or just hanging out and watching the sunset. The infinity pool is shared with the other villas but always feels private. Due to its size and differing guest schedules, you’ll find it's rare not to have it to yourself. The yoga deck has a hammock and breakfast area if you want to eat outside of your villa. All our villas are private from each other and each has a unique feature. Asmara has its very own private Buddha Meditation Garden.

Interaction with guests

I'm not always in Bali as I travel extensively myself, but our onsite staff are really wonderful and will treat you like family (we have day time staff and night time security). If I'm lucky to be staying while you're there, I'm always available to give you tips and pointers on the best way to maximize your stay in Ubud and Bali.

Other things to note

We get asked often how long you should plan your stay in Ubud. Although you can get a flavor of the city and traditional Bali in our two night minimum stay, we recommend booking AT LEAST 3 nights with us at Harmony to enjoy our relaxing villa and explore some of the literally hundreds of things to do in the amazing town of Ubud. We have discounted weekly rates too and you could stay a month and not run out of things to do!

Ubud is a gastronomic paradise with virtually every kind of food available just a few minutes from Harmony. Many offer take out and delivery, so you can eat in your villa, under the stars on your private deck, or on the pool deck.

Harmony is open to nature and you should expect visits from insects and lizards in our tropical climate. There are very few animals that are dangerous even although they may look so! But be prepared to be close to nature in all its beauty.

Villa Asmara is one of five villas at Harmony and while Harmony is large enough so each Villa is private, it's small enough for community. We don't have a lot of rules except have maximum fun and relaxation.

We ask you respect other guests privacy as they will yours and please don't smoke except on your private deck (not inside the villa). There's some basic stuff about being in a tropical environment; our staff will advise you on arrival.

Daily breakfast will be provided each morning between 8-11am. If you’d like to change or request specific breakfast times, please ensure you notify staff at check in.

Villa towels will be replaced every 3 days. If you'd like them changed more frequently, please make sure to let our staff know.

We do have a few suggestions during your stay ....

We like to suggest you support the village shops where you can buy your beer and snacks from the locals rather than going into town.

Watch the rice... it's mesmerizing.

Beautiful villa, away from the traffic of Ubud - but close enough to the action. The host was great, and the villa was amazing. We had our own kitchen area, big bed, lounging area, and a clean pool. When we arrived there was a guide book with plenty of info, and we had food delivered to us, our clothes washed, and a private cooking class. The villa is so nice, it makes you want to just stay there. Thank you for the wonderful service! My wife and I look forward to going back some day!

Wonderful Villa and staff. I highly recommend this Villa during your stay in Bali. A personal driver will take you anywhere you want to go or you could rent a scooter. The rice fields surrounding the villas and the pool are beautiful too!

To begin with, we booked a resort on the beach to stay after this place and we were so thankful we made a point to book this place for part of our stay. It felt like our experience in Bali would not have been complete without this stay. The airbnb is located in the village of Lotundoh right next to Ubud City Center. It is a very short taxi ride into town, and we actually walked to the Monkey Forest and into town our first day of our stay. The views of the rice paddies are incredible. The place is very comfortable and like they say it is and open air type of accommodation so be prepared for that, but it still has plenty of doors and such to help close in the areas. Ibu Wayan the manager really makes the stay very special. She was our tour guide for a day, and really made the trip a memorable one. we went to visit temples where she told us what history she could, and took plenty of pictures for us. She helped us understand how to barter at the market, and what prices are fair. She guided us in picking the appropriate sarongs and even guided us through the cleansing ritual at the water temple. I can not thank her enough for her generosity in sharing the local knowledge of the culture. They made multiple stops throughout the day to accommodate our needs (ATM, food, etc) no problem. The location is nice because it is in an actual village so you get to see a piece of Bali that is undisturbed by tourists. The morning views rival the views we had at other very expensive resorts. Lastly! The villa dog Trixie was an absolute treat for us, but we love dogs. She does not bother anybody but since we love dogs we definitely gave her attention. She rewarded us on the last day with a walk through the rice paddies. She spotted us walking out there and ran out to join us. She led us around the paddies and it was pretty memorable! The communication also is great, Michael and Ibu Wayan really make sure whatever you need is taken care of. This airbnb was a great addition to our beach stay and really rounded out our experience!

This spot is amazing. It's about a ten minute drive to central Ubud but that's a good thing. The location is stunning with constant wildlife to admire. The staff is super helpful and assisted us with a taxi service, renting a motorbike and dinner reservations. Michael was great at communicating and was easy to book with. If I ever come to Ubud I would never stay anywhere else.

This is the second time we stayed at this fantastic place. My wife and I love the beautiful villas and rice fields, the the staff are attentive, the breakfast is sumptuous. The fresh bread the staff baked was a pleasant surprise and delicious, not sure if this was a special treat for the owner or not, but I would recommend they continue this practice. We look forward to returning next year. Again I can not recommend highly enough:::)))))

The place is exactly as described. It is a great example of typical, open Balinese architecture, relying on the ocean breezes and fans to keep things comfortable. The staff went out of its way countless times during the 30 days that we were there...they were prompt, courteous, and above all gracious. Communication with Michael was flawless (despite him being in CA), and the local staff helped with everything. The Internet was great. We would definitely recommend Asmara Villa to anyone wishing to stay a longer period in Ubud/Lod Tunduh
