The Space

This home offers one bedroom with a view of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 7 chickens, 4 fish, and a pig! We live on an acre of land, with a big fenced in yard in the back with a firepit or just a place to sit and enjoy the sun. We have wireless internet and loads of books and magazines for you to enjoy. We are open to letting your furry friend visit too, but would need to discuss their stay beforehand.

We live in a rural community with lots of wild life, a view of the mountains, and of the stars at night. The Navitat ziplining adventure is off our exit as well. We live 18 miles from Asheville, 13 miles from UNCA, 3 miles from downtown Weaverville, 2 miles from Madison County line, Mars Hill College and the Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre, and 27 miles from hot springs..

We have one lovely private room and a shared bath in a 1200 square foot home.

We are happy to point you in the right direction for our favorite spots (we have quite a few) and help you navigate around all the other fantastic options that Asheville (or Weaverville) has to offer.

The house is a 1960s ranch style with original hardwood floors in common areas and ceramic tile in kitchen and bathroom. Ceiling fans, air conditioning and energy efficient heat keep the house comfortable no matter when you come to visit. Rooms have electric heat and window a/c units.

Your room has two windows, which provide lots of natural light. This room has a chest of drawers and a closet to hang and put away all your things. A stuffed chair sits in the corner for you to relax. And a full bed where you can sleep like a baby!

Your stay comes with access to our full kitchen and use of our laundry area in the basement. We have tea and coffee on hand and always available to you.

We would love to talk with you about your adventures and your potential stay at our home!

  • Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Angie and Mindy but they kindly let me stay even though they weren't there! The room was so nice and very comfy. I enjoyed spending time with the animals! A neighbor, Alice, came over and even brought me dinner and fruit. The area is absolutely gorgeous and I fell in love with the scenery the short period I was there. Highly recommended!!

  • It was the perfect place to stay for me--affordable, fenced in yard, and pet friendly. It was really nice to be able to bring my dog and let her run around outside. And the dogs were really friendly to her, so no worries if you have one yourself.

The only negative--and it wasn't a negative for me, and they are very clear about this on their listing--is that there are a lot of animals. It was perfect for what I was looking, but if you are allergic to cats or dogs you would be better off finding somewhere else. I love animals, so it was a lot of fun for me (particularly since my dog was so confused by the pigs), but that's just something to be aware of.

  • We LOVED our stay with Mindy and Angie. I'm a pet lover and relished every moment with them and all their furry, feathery, hairy (pigs) friends.

These ladies are fantastic hosts who made sure all our needs and expectations were exceeded. Our room was lovely, and the entire house was impeccably clean and full of personality and love. I really enjoyed sitting in the yard in the wonderful breeze. They shared their delicious, homegrown strawberries, too. We had some great conversations about all kinds of topics both nights we were there even though I know they were probably tired and very busy. We had the perfect mix of privacy and fellowship with them.

As you can probably tell, I didn't want to leave. We're already planning our return trip and can't wait!! Mindy and Angie, thank you for an excellent, very memorable stay.

  • A spacious and lovely home with an amazing heating system, oh and the bed was heavenly. A really pretty toilet too! Coming from a city like Singapore, staying at Mindy and Angie's can't be a more different experience! The peace and serenity of life outside the noisy city was what we felt during our stay. And we woke up to toasts and strawberries for breakfast, how wonderful! If you do love animals, this will be a perfect match! If you don't, Annie and Gracie and make sure you do by the time you check out!

I am have been with my partner for 7 years. We live a quiet life with lots of time at work, but love time at home to enjoy each other's company and the company of our pets. We are vegetarian and have a great appetite for fresh, healthy food. I am a certified Aesthetician, but also clean houses, pet sit and work with a middle-aged woman part-time. I love working in my yard and garden. I recently got a membership to the YMCA and enjoy Tabatha and Turbo kick! Reading and cooking are also two of my loves. I also love thrift store shopping and can tell you the best places to find a good deal! Angie works as the Director of Operations for a local Animal Rescue in the area. Angie is a workaholic and plays guitar, loves to read, drinks lots coffee, and of course loves animals of all kinds.
