Guestroom w/ 2 beds 20 mins to NYC

Apartment - Private room · Granite St, Brooklyn, NY 11207, United States

The Space

A clean and comfy guest room with two double beds awaits you in a newly built apartment in Bushwick Brooklyn. Perfect for weekend getaways! Sleeps up to 4.

Free Wifi all the time. The house is near two main subway lines, L and J trains, just 20 mins to New York City. A and C trains also walking distance for easy access to Barclays Center and Downtown Brooklyn.

Washer, dryer and ironing board available. Guest room is on the lower level, is private with a door that locks with a key while you are out. It has bookshelves and a wardrobe.

Private full bath with shower to yourself. Microwave, fridge, water kettle included and perfect for late night munchies. Use of living area and cooking in the family kitchen on the main floor is welcome provided you clean up after yourself! :-) Access to beautiful backyard with gazebo for fresh air and sun shine.

C Town supermarket nearby. 24/7 Deli around the corner. A dozen different restaurants Thai, Chinese, Latin, Indian and Soul/American food all deliver to the house.

Just a few minutes away on the L train is the hipsterville we know as Williamsburg with tons of restaurants and nightlife. The immediate area of the house lacks a 'happening' scene and is more quiet.

Hosts are Ingrid (mommy) Lavondo (daddy) and Zinn (2 year old). We have done a lot of traveling ourselves in our younger years when we worked for a cruise liner and we love to meet new people. Hope to meet you!

While I love to host, your privacy will also be respected. There is a private entrance to the guest room so you can come and go as you please at any time of the day or night. Being that it is a family home, I would not expect a bachelor pad environment.

  • Ingrid provided a welcoming stay in her home with plenty of room, comfortable beds, eating opportunities, and all the information and advice needed for enjoying a stay in NYC. Once we got to know the area better, public transportation in and out of the city was easy and convenient. Thank you, Ingrid, for providing a place for us while we spent a few days visiting.

  • The room was lovely and the beds were super comfortable! The bathroom was also very nice. I definitely recommend this place to others.

  • Our stay at Ingrid's was simply magnificent! It suited our needs perfectly. It was clean, cozy and inviting. We rented a car in order to drive up north to visit some colleges. We were able to park the car on the street and then return it to the airport. After ditching our rental vehicle, we were able to use the subway. The subway is a short distance and very convenient to get into the city and back to the airport home. We highly recommend this rental. I can't wait to come back with others to show them New York. When we do, I'm hoping I can rent again from Ingrid and her family. Ingrid was even nice enough to give me some stamps so I could mail something home. Her mom Angie offered to put it in the mail since I was leaving and didn't know where a mailbox was in the area. We would like to give Ingrid and her family a very heartfelt Thank You for their hospitality!

  • If I visit NYC in the future I would not want stay anywhere else. Clean, private and within walking distance to the L and J train. Especially convenient if you are using JFK airport because the J train connects directly with the Airtrain. Ingrids's mom takes good care of the place and is always available to help you.

  • My friend Sara and I absolutely loved staying here. The room is huge and the beds are more comfortable than our own.
Ingrid, her husband Lavondo, and their cute baby Zinn are wonderful. Lavondo even helped us with our bags. We really enjoyed talking with Ingrid, too.

We hope we can stay with them again sometime!

    Thank you for everything!

  • We can't thank Ingrid and her entire family enough for the warm welcome we received when we arrived at their place in Bushwick. We felt just at home from the moment we arrived. As an example of this, Ingrid had put up a bunch of menus from restaurants that were located nearby and that delivered takeout to their house - and she even ordered our food for us. We instantly felt a warmth and kindness from Ingrid and throughout the stay that warmth and kindness only grew more and more.
We had the entire basement to ourselves which included our very own bathroom, a small refrigerator, coffee machine, a kettle, and, of course, our spacious bedroom.
The house is located literally minutes away from the nearest subway station (the L train) and since only one train goes through that station it's pretty easy to figure out how to get to and from Manhattan and around Brooklyn. The L train takes you through some very cool parts of Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan.

We read in one of the previous reviews that someone thought the neighborhood seemed a bit dodgy, but we can honestly say that we did not encounter any dodgy or uncomfortable people at all. Actually, the neighborhood was extremely quiet and we had absolutely no problem falling asleep at night.

We would definitely recommend this place to anyone we know who's planning a trip to New York City.

Again, thank you so much to Ingrid, Lavondo, Ingrid's Mom, and that little cutie pie Zinn for being awesome hosts.

  • Ingrid is super nice and sweet. I don't see her much during our stay, but she gives out help whenever I need. The room is also warm and clean. Thanks Ingrid!!

  • This was by far the best AirBnB stay I've ever had. Lavondo warmly welcomed us and gave us a tour of the place. After talking with Lavondo, I learned he used to work for the same company as I currently do. He's also a guitarist like me and let me play his guitar for a bit. How cool is that? It was also great to stay downstairs with our own bathroom and entrance into the house, because it provided privacy when needed and didn't bother the hosts when we came home late.

Both Lavondo and Ingrid let us know to ask for anything we needed during our stay and their house is easily accessible by train. The L and J lines are a 5 minute walk and the neighborhood is quiet. For the price, you can't find a better experience or any nicer people who own a place like this. I highly recommend staying here if you'll be in New York. Thank you to Ingrid and Lavondo for being wonderful hosts and for being my new friends!

  • We have no words to explain how thankfull me and my brother are about our stay with Ingrid, Lavondo and the little Zayn. First of all, it was our first AirBnb experience, and everything was perfect. The room is big, the beds are the most confortable ever, we had our own bathroom, everything really clean, 3 minute walk from the subway, grocery store nearby, and we had everything needed. They make us feel REALLY like home. Besides that, 500 words aren't enough to talk about everything they made for us, they helped us with EVERYTHING we needed, we sent lots of packages to their house and they never complained, we needed a car to the airport and they helped us with it, we needed a bed in the last minute in the end of our north america's trip and they let us sleep in their office.
We can say for sure we will NEVER stay in a hotel or hostel in NYC again, Ingrid and Lavondo's house is a million times better than any boutique hotel.
They are really nice, they are not only good hosts but they are also really good people. We were there at the holidays time and they were so kind...
Thank you guys for EVERYTHING, we don't even know what to say, we just wanna make sure you know you now have friends in Brazil =)

  • This was my second time staying in New York and I really couldn't have picked a better spot to have stayed in as well as amazing people to stay with. Ingrid, Lavondo, their son and Ingrid's mom were all wonderful and helped us out with everything from getting our crazy luggage into the house and getting it out! Perfect spot, amazing neighborhood, phenomenal hosts.... I'll definitely be back!! I <3 New York
