Nice neat room in a superb location!!
Great Value at this €€€
This is in the same apartment as my listing 'Top Spot Downtown Dublin City'
4th floor apartment offering a double room with comfy double bed. Beautiful floor-ceiling SLIDER ROBES recently installed. There is also a study desk, chest of drawers and cable TV and Wifi connection. Shared bathroom (powerful shower/bath). Fully fitted kitchen. Outside there is a lovely courtyard/garden space.
Private Parking (off street) is available. This is a BIG Advantage in such a central location!
Secure and very safe area. Well light up & constantly policed zone. In the main central zone, not BLOCKS Away.
Brilliantly located in the heart of the nightlife area. Temple Bar is 3/4 mins walk away. Around the corner you'll find the famous 'Whelans bar/venue', the bustling Camden Street and the sanctuary of the beautiful St Stephen's Green is only 200meters stroll !!
'Aircoach' takes u directly from the Airport and will drop you off at Trinity College €7 one way/€12 return. You can easily walk from here with baggage to the room. Follow The Map and you'll be in the accomodation in less than 10 mins.
Less than 1 min walk is the fanfare of the bustling & glitzy Grafton Street. The location is simply superb, all of the great sites & amenities Dublin has to offer is literally on the door step.
Laid back and friendly apartment. If you are looking to stay in a really COOL part of town - get in contact!
I look forward to hearing from you. And helping you with your trip - Giving you local tips to make it a pleasurable and memorable stay :D
It was a nice stay in Johnny's appartement. Convenient site - close to the centre of Dublin. And Johnny was very hospitable and friendly.
I recommend :)
Could not have asked for a better host when it came to arriving in the city super jetlagged with a bike in tow. Johnny not only immediately made me feel at home, but also was able to be of great help when it came to getting settled in Ireland (I'm going to be here for a while, or so I hope). He got me all set up, really, and I could not have done any of what I've done so far here without his great help. If not for the totally central location (a short walk to anywhere you want to go), go for Johnny.
Johnny is a very good host, very responsive. He helped me when I lost my phone late at night. The apartment is well located. The review rate is fair and accurate (in particular regarding cleanliness). Probably a better plan for young travellers than retired people used to hotels.
If you are going to be out and about then this is the place for you. It is centrally located and you literally do not need any sort of transportation besides your feet. At most, the longest distance walking to some point will be 15 minutes. This is a great home base.
The apartment is located in a really good "local" part of Dublin. It was near the Temple Bar area, but just far enough such that you got a feel for the people who actually lived in the city.
Toilet - below the waterline the bowl was completely and fully faecal stained.
Shower/bath - drain clogged so showered standing in 10cm of water. Told Johnny Thursday - said he would fix it next morning. Attended two mornings later to orientate a young American couple but he didn't even fix it then. The American girl said she was low maintenance (and probably was) but she wouldn't shower there.
Noise from long term tenant - the American couple heard the guy in the next room up partying with with 2-3 friends till 3-4am. (It didn't bother their sleep as they were exhausted from walking all day).
Owner late to meet me when arriving. Texted that I had arrived, was on bus and would be there in approx 20 mins. He replied and asked me to call him when I got off bus. Despite doing so and then calling when arrived at front door, texting and calling again over next 40 mins he didn't arrive. He said he was in mobile phone dead zone.
Positives - 300m from St Stephens Green.
My 3 friends stayed elsewhere in Ranelagh. Same price with breakfast ... and the woman there kindly invited me to have free full breakfast there!!!!
Bon accueil, personne arrangeante et aimable par contre salle de bain sale, moquette souillée et beaucoup de poussiere.
It is noisy, dirty and uncomfortable. Impossible to sleep.
Johnny was a kind, helpful and gracious host. He met us promptly upon our arrival as he agreed and gave us a brief but thorough briefing on the apartment. He had arranged a number of brochures and maps for us to peruse and gave us great advice as to a nice restaurant where we could celebrate our anniversary.
The apartment was clean and very conveniently located. We could easily walk to the main attractions in Dublin. Many cafes and pubs are very close by as is public transportation to areas further out from the center.
The major disadvantage of the apartment is the lack of a separate sitting area. But for someone who isn't looking to sit around the apartment there is nothing to lack!
We never got to meet Johnny in person but he was very attentive throughout our stay. The location is very central and easy to get to with restaurants and pubs nearby. The room could be a little nicer and there was a drum kit in the room that took up a lot of space. The bathroom is also not so great because its shared and not that clean. But, overall a good stay and affordable. Thanks for having us Johnny.
