I am an Englishman married to a lovely Chilean lady, and I have been living and working in Santiago since 2005. We've been hosting guests since early 2010 and it has been a wonderful experience, as we have both enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and helping them to get the most out of their visits to this strange and beautiful country! We are flexible hosts and our approach is to give our guests as much independence as they wish for, whilst always being available to help in any way we can.
I my self am a bit of a travel fanatic, although having a young family has put my plans for trips to really exotic places on the back burner. I have always enjoyed travelling in Asia and have been many times, with Nepal, Tibet and Singapore being favourites (for different reasons!). In recent years I have rediscovered the joys of visiting Europe, and of course have had plenty of opportunity to get to know Chile in much more detail - it really is a beautiful and very varied country.
Am also a bit of a sports nut, and I especially enjoy football, both the English and the American varieties. Unfortunately both of my teams (Crystal Palace in football, San Francisco 49ers in American football) have been in the doldrums in recent years, but I'm hoping that will all change soon!
