The neighborhood is very charming: it is full of nice shops and nice trattorias where to have a lovely meat. Peaceful and elegant, it is a well known residential street.
This was our first experience dealing with airbnb and it wasn't the best.
First, the good: the location of the apartment was excellent, very walkable to everything; the apartment was spacious; the arranged driver to the airport was prompt and very friendly; the couple who met us at the apartment were helpful with directions and other information.
Now, the not so good: we received several emails from '(website hidden)' asking for more information (don't know who '(website hidden)' is); we never met nor spoke to the person who was supposed to check us in (Honey), but there were two other people at the apartment (Honey's relatives maybe?); I was asked to sign a document stating that we still owed another $400, even though we had fully paid the rental charges at time of booking; two of us got stuck in the elevator when it broke down; and the bathrooms needed more cleaning.
Overall, the apartment was just ok, but we would not stay here again.
Dear Carolyn, thank you for writing in and I'm sorry to read that your first airbnb experience wasn't to your liking. I'm the CEO of Rome loft and this is why you got emails from there. I post my properties on airbnb and on there as well. It's strange that you would be asked to pay again!? This never happens as both platforms are updated at the same time to show that you have paid through airbnb at point of booking. So I'm really really sorry that there was confusion for your booking. I will have to re-visit your booking and see what went wrong.
I really hope that I'll have a chance to welcome you in another one of my apartments in the future! Thank you again! -Lorenzo
Great place. Clean and beautiful. Everything is convenient. We hope it will be available next time we're visiting Rome. Thank you Lorenzo.
I have only good things to say, an absolute 5/5 experience! Let me break it down as well as give my specific recommendations:
Lorenzo was extremely helpful with the initial reservation as well as with arranging for a driver to pick us up at the airport. The chauffeur, Biló I believe was his name, was pleasant and helpful and pointed out sights and gave directions to restaurants, cafés and ice cream bars we couldn’t miss. The price was 55€ for four people and we could hardly have made the trip cheaper ourselves, at least not without making the trip considerably more stressful and time consuming.
The apartment is lovely with two levels and with a bedroom and bathroom on each level. Perfect for four close friends or two couples. The atmosphere is good and very “Roman” and it is only a few minutes’ walk to some very lovely restaurants as well as Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Tevere etc. You can hear people down in the streets, but it never gets noisy.
Internet works just fine and there are machinettas – small coffee pots for making coffee – in the kitchen so really, what more could one wish for? We started each day and ended each night with coffee and Internet surfing while we planned what sights to see, checked opening hours etc.
Bonus info: Just around the corner, in Via dei Soldati, is L’Osteria de ‘Memmo’. Order the antipasti and marvel! For a very fair price you will get dish after dish of fresh, delicious Roman antipasti and you might not be able to eat anything more on the menu … Not even dessert, sweet tooth or not.
Lorenzo was very friendly, helpful and very easy to communicate with. We had no problems and all our enquiries were quickly answered.
Bottom line: Yes, I most definitely would recommend this apartment to friends and yes, I would most definitely come again myself.
This apartment was clean and spacious for the four of us. The best thing is defiantly the location. We were are 10min walk to pretty much everything we wanted to do and if we needed to take a cab, it was very easy and again a very quick ride to where ever we wanted to go.
There were a couple of frustrating things though but I don't think it had anything to do with Lorenzo. One thing was the wifi. We were able to "connect" to the wifi but we were not able to do anything on the internet or check our email. Being that wifi was our only way of communication while we were there, this was very frustrating. We were able to connect and use our devices at locale cafes but for some reason it did not work at the apartment. We tried to have it fixed but it was not successful, therefore we did not have internet while we were in the apartment.
The only other thing really was to car service that was offered. I was able to book a car through Lorenzo's company to pick us up from the airport which was really nice. The problem was the car was a mid-size car which did not hold four people and out bags therefore we had to hold half our bags on our laps during the drive. We understand miscommunications happen and the person who met us at the apartment whose name was Honey, stated the car was too small for us. Honey then setup a ride for us back to the airport at the end of our stay and he told us the car would accommodate us. When the car arrived, it was the same car and driver that picked us up, so we had to hold our bags on our laps again which is not the end of the world but it was frustrating since it was talked about just one week earlier and the ride was setup the day we arrived.
All in all, even though there were a few frustrating things, we had a great time and the apartment was very nice for the four of us and the location to everything was amazing! I would stay there again because I feel the frustrating things could be fixed very easily.
i do not have words to explain how much i am disappointed about the inconveniences suffered.
I promise that next time you will have a working internet access and a comfortable, big car.
I apologize and i also want to thank you for letting me know the problems you had during your stay.
My best regards
This apartment is quite spacious compared to anywhere else we have stayed in Rome. It's on a lovely wonderful little street just steps away from the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Tiber, and all of historic Rome. You couldn't ask for a better location. There is a wonderful coffee shop and delicious bakery at the end of the streets, as well as one of the best wine shops we found in Rome.
We enjoyed having a kitchen in which to make food, and it was well equipped for simple cooking. The building and street are very quiet. The apartment was excellent and a good value.
