The overall experience was ok. The place is gorgeous. The place is run like a hotel with hired staff. The staff unlocked the room while I was out although I told him I would return before the check out time. I didn't feel mt privacy was respected.
Where to start when reviewing Amomaya? We spent ten days here so I guess I'll start by saying, if you've never been to Bali, ignore all your first instincts. As first timers to Bali, we were a little overwhelmed when we were dropped off in a car park (which was a little dirty) and a smiling young man appeared, quickly threw our luggage on his bike and took off down a small, often dingy and complex little alley way. All I can say is Don't Worry! Because when you first walk through those little doors, you step into paradise and the dirty, busy Bali melts away. Through those doors is a quite sanctuary. A luscious, well maintained garden surrounds the pool and the villas are well thought through, cared for and big enough for two people to live comfortably in. The staff Putu and Made are absolutely wonderful. Their presence in the complex made our trip so much easier, with their lovely smiles, good English and wonderful attitudes and generosity. For example, we got sick on of the days of our stay, which they let the owner know about so the next morning we had a fresh young coconut waiting for us with breakfast to help rehydrate and cleanse our system. While someone is their for the majority of the day, they are respectful and often out of site. Thoughtful is an understatement when describing these two divine people. The villas itself was well stocked, with a full kitchenette (fridge, purified water, stove and gear for two), a beautiful four poster, cable tv and decent wifi (coming from Australia it wasn't any slower than our internet here). There are several lovely little nooks to relax in the villas (my personal favourite was the outdoor, under cover day bed) and with two people, it never felt crowded. Putu and Made also clean the villas daily. The only negative thing I have to say is that our hot water was a little temperamental and it was tricky to get it to work. It worked fine for the first six days but we had some issues with it for the final couple of days. It wasn't too much of an issue because if we couldn't get it to work Made or Putu would check it out straight away and get it fixed. While the bathroom is functional and practical it's not as luxurious as some of the bathrooms in we've seen in Bali, but to be honest, we didn't care, it was such a tiny thing in a sea of amazing surrounds at Amomaya. We were too busy enjoying the beautiful gardens and pool! The walk into town has been a negative for some other reviews here but honestly, we loved the walk. It's a good fifteen minutes walk down into Ubud and the walk back up the hill is about 20 but it's a good walk to get the blood flowing and while its a little narrow, we found that cars and...
Good location, walk 2mins from the main road, insurance of quiet& isolation, but lots of café/ restaurant/ spa/ minimart/ shop around, very convenient. Only 20mins walk to Ubud center, pass by many nice spots, must try: Alchemy, Kue, Bridge, Sri Ratih Café. No need for motorbike or car, if you like to walk as us. We really felt in love with Penestanan.
The house itself, comfortable bedroom, good air condition, cable TV with many international channels(good for us to kill time at night), functional kitchen. Clean space, nearly no Mosquitoes(miracle), little cute garden. WIFI is ok. Totally, nothing to complain. Good price.
A very little issue to mind: low water pressure here, it may cause some uncomfortable situation when taking shower using gas water heater. But I have to say equally this is the common issue in the whole Ubud area, you may have this issue in anyother hotels in Ubud, so it’s not worth mentioned at all if you don’t require a very high quality shower. Take it easy, it’s Ubud. Live it, love it.
Accueil chaleureux dans l'île des Dieux et villa paradisiaque! Nous recommandons cet endroit pour un court ou long séjour. Les photos sont tout à fait en accord avec la réalité.
The area was known to us, so no surprises. The staff was friendly and helpfull
I booked the two villas for my family and this worked very well. We were able to have privacy but still be together as a family. The appointments of the villa are terrific. All the fixtures and fittings are great and the linen was of a high quality. The garden surrounds and pool gave us a lovely area to relax at the end of the day. The staff were kind and very accommodating. The villa was cleaned every day. We had delicious breakfasts each morning at reasonable cost. The villa was easy to find and all the directions were very clear.
This place was incredible! We truly enjoyed staying here.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was terrific, bed comfortable, and internet and cable TV were perfect. Also the grounds were immaculate and the pool wonderful. The location of the property is good as well with some really nice restaurants within walking distance.
The host Sabina was very responsive to all of our questions online, and the staff member Putu and others were exceptional. Breakfast there is a must and is inexpensive - definitely get the banana pancakes! Also, the villa manager Ketut himself went way beyond by also driving us on an amazing tour of the island, which we would never have been able to see if it weren't for him. THANK YOU SO MUCH Ketut for an amazing Bali experience! You made our trip to Bali very special.
I absolutely and unreservedly recommend staying here. You will not regret it!
