My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Host: We were greeted by the staff at Amomaya (Made and Putu), and they made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. At least one of them was always on hand if we ever needed anything, and they were good sources of advice on local activities. They would prepare breakfast for us in the morning (delivered to our door - highly recommended!) and keep the place very clean, along with the gardener who took great pride in his outdoor creation. We did not meet Sabina but had good communication with her before we arrived and she organised airport transfer for us too.
Facilities: Amomaya had everything you would like from a relaxing villa. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bedroom of good size and character. The outdoor area is what makes it though, with a lovely infinity pool in a beautifully maintained garden. One slight negative was the shower, which blew hot and cold at random - although granted, this could have been due to user error!
Location: I would say that this was the least ideal aspect of the villa. It is located down a small and poorly-lit walkway off the main road, which is entirely safe but slightly intimidating to walk down for the first time at night. It is within walking distance of the centre of Ubud, but not without venturing down a steep and poorly-paved hill with traffic, so we just ended up getting taxis everywhere. On the flipside the villa is well-located for exploring the areas around Ubud (e.g. Sayan), which are less touristy and arguably more beautiful than Ubud itself.
Overall: If you suffer from any mobility issues or dislike the idea of walking 20 minutes to Ubud centre/ getting taxis there, maybe reconsider. For anyone else though - I would strongly recommend Amomaya, it's really lovely!
Amomaya house was a awesome stay with Sabina being a great host who responds quickly to your messages and makes planning a breeze. Sabina was not around during my stay but her crew made the stay incredibly smooth right from the hotel pick-up to recommendations on where to go within Ubud. In addition, the breakfast of omelette and banana pancake they provided was delicious and my wife and I looked forward to that each morning.
In terms of the location, it's a great location within Ubud about 5min by motorbike to the centre of Ubud with lotsa restaurants.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Amomaya house and will look forward to returning there if we go back to Ubud.
The host made our stay so enjoyable, hiring a motorbike from them to explore Ubud, always checking in with us that everything was fine ! The villa was immaculate and so welcoming! We would definately recommended this villa for any couple to stay in! or even two couples and get both the villas!
Amomaya was a peaceful oasis some distance from the main streets of ubud - but it is still walkable. We especially enjoyed the beautiful garden and relaxing within the high walled compound. The neighbourhood is peaceful as well and there are many dining options although we found ourselves going back to Element more than once.
Great little hideaway, close to the action but away from the hustle and bustle. The pool was tranquil and the staff super-friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a private villa which is a short ride to Ubud central. As an aside, I was on crutches for my trip and the pathway to get to the villa was a little uneven but manageable - wouldn't be a problem for anyone able bodied.
We really enjoyed the villa. Comfortable size, beautifully landscaped garden and pool, and helpful, friendly staff. The neighborhood is a little bit further away from the main roads in the center of Ubud. You may not enjoy walking to these roads, since the sidewalks everywhere in Ubud are treacherous or nonexistent. The villa is set away from the road, about 200m down a side road that's navigable only by scooter, so there's a short walk to find a cab no matter what. We didn't find this to be a problem. There are several restaurants along this same alley if you don't feel like venturing far for food. Get the breakfast. It's excellent.
Host and Ketut were great. Arranged driver to pick us up from Sanur and transported us safely to Amomaya house along with stopping along the way to do some sightseeing for a very reasonable price. Breakfast in the am was great, recommend the banana pancakes! Great correspondence the whole visit and gave great food and other local recommendations. Location was within walking distance of Ubud and there is easy access to a taxi stand if needed. Overall great accommodations and we already miss it!!!
