For almost 45 years I have lived in Downeast Maine where I have raised a family, and co-own and run a small inn and restaurant, IRONBOUND, in Hancock Village, Maine - conveniently located 10 minutes from Ellsworth on US Route 1. With Acadia National Park nearby I enjoy hiking, biking, boating and winter skiing the back roads and foot paths that are the touchstone of our area. Sharing what I know is an enjoyable part of my job as an inn keeper and restaurateur. I am well-traveled, although visiting Asia is on my wish list. The inn - with it's old world charm blended with casual chic - caters to independent travelers like myself who are seeking an authentic Maine experience. My staff and I can help you set your compass to fishing villages, good food, fresh lobster, outdoor recreation, local secrets and more. I have been an airbnb host with my home property in Ellsworth for 4 years so know what my guests are looking for when visiting the area.
