If they made a Hollywood movie where the characters lived in Brooklyn, this is probably what their apartment would look like. But this one's totally real.
Only a handful of Williamsburg's legendary loft buildings still remain and you've just stumbled across a chance to stay in one of them. Set on the corner of N. 5th and Kent, inside of an old dollhouse factory, this building has played host to scores of artists, musicians and epic rooftop parties over the years and, unlike so many of the apartments that have popped up here in recent years. it is absolutely overflowing with authentic character.
The apartment itself is equally massive and beautiful. The open-plan ground floor covers1500 square feet and the ceilings are 20' high. The bedrooms are set inside of two separate elevated 'tree houses' inside the loft. One is King size and the other queen. There's also a pull-out sofa bed downstairs, so you can comfortably sleep up to 6 people. There's also easy access to the building's panoramic shared rooftop, right outside the front door of the loft and a private parking space that's available for a small additional fee if you're coming by car.
If you're looking for the epicenter of Brooklyn's food, culture and nightlife scenes, this is ground zero. Here's a small random sampling of things you can walk to in under three minutes from here; Brooklyn Bowl, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Public Assembly, The Wythe Hotel, the East River Promenade, the Brooklyn Flea, Smorgasburg, McCarren Park, and more top-notch bars and restaurants than you can shake a stick at. Oh... and, literally the best view of the Manhattan skyline in the world.
Since you'll be right in the heart of the Brooklyn scene, you may not want to bother going into Manhattan but, if you do, it wont be hard at all. The loft is located one block from the East River Ferry Pier and three blocks from the Bedford L. The total door-to-door time to Union Square is in under 20 minutes.
You have access to the whole loft, which includes a living room, kitchen and bathroom, as well as a huge common rooftop.
We provide clean towels, linens, blankets, and other basic amenities. It's drop and flop, Brooklyn style.

Other Things to Note
What's the catch?
The reason why our price is so reasonable for the size & location is that this is not in a luxury building. It's in an old converted factory populated by artists and musicians and it can be loud sometimes if there are parties. This only happens rarely but it does happen. (And you're always welcome to attend, if it does). All in all, It's a very authentic Brooklyn experience - but that's not necessarily for everyone.
It's also a 3rd floor walk-up.
We are careful with who we allow to stay here and expect that if we do choose you, you will respect our rules. If they don't work for your lifestyle, chances are you can find another listing on here that's better suited to you.
That said, there is a $500 deposit, which is fully refundable as long as you abide by the conditions below. Breaking these will result in a forfeiture of some or all of your deposit and/or the cancellation of your stay:
Minimum Age: 25
No smoking inside the loft. There's a door to the rooftop right outside the apartment door so there's no reason why this should be a problem.
No parties in the loft. Anything more than 10 people in the house at one time will be considered a party.
Clean up after yourself. We do not do dishes. If we find ourselves doing them for you, we will charge you a totally unreasonable rate for the service.
Jason & Alyssa gave great instructions for how to access the loft. The loft was exactly as described in the posting, and was in the perfect location for a fun weekend in Williamsburg. I would definitely recommend it!!
It's rare that the pictures don't do a place justice but in this case it's true. The loft is vast, as stunning as it looks, and is also so characterful in the flesh. Location perfect for subway and ferry. Jason was incredibly helpful too.
Jason was responsive to emails and phone calls prior to check-in, and let us drop off our stuff much earlier than our check-in time. (He was at the location, working on his computer.) The whole process was seamless.
The space was amazingly comfortable and convenient. Also, if you happen to play, they have a piano, and the space has great acoustics!
Do bring your own toiletries though. They have a collection of leftover soap/shampoo/conditioner, but really not enough. An extremely minor issue in what was otherwise a fantastic stay.
My travel plans were "fluid" so I did not get to meet Jason in person. I truly appreciated his clarity regarding what to expect and how to get into the loft etc. We were in New York for a family trip and were looking for a place where my daughter and son in law and my husband and myself could be together with my daughter who lives in Brooklyn and not have everyone too together all of the time. The "old style" two bedroom Brooklyn Loft was spacious, clean, comfortable and well located. It worked well for us. We ended up driving to the city and were able to find street parking. The only negatives of our trip were the ice and the L which was limited --nothing related to the accommodations.
This was my first airbnb experience and it was a great one! It was such a hidden gem in the heart of Williamsburg, and gives such an authentic feel for the city. We definitely want to stay here again for our next visit.
From the beginning, Jason responded very quickly, and gave me a detailed photo guide on how to enter the loft, since it can be tricky to locate. I came here with my boyfriend and friends during Valentine's Day weekend, and the location was perfect for going back and forth to Manhattan. This loft is amazing if you want a true Williamsburg artist vibe. I arrived earlier than the rest of my group, so I had the pleasure of meeting Jason and he was able to actually show me everything. This space is normally used as their work office, and although I came just to store my luggage then venture back out, Jason assured me it wasn't a burden if I stayed while they were still there, so I ended up resting for a bit until everyone left. There are also Macs in the loft that you're allowed to use, and the TV is set up with Netflix. The oven was adorable, but we didn't cook at all so we never had a chance to use it. The heater is meant to stay at 60 at all times, but even though it was freezing outside we all stayed really warm in the loft. The vanity mirror was perfect for me since it was so big and lighted so well, and there are random little knickknacks strewn across the loft that were interesting and fun to play with. There is a Duane Reade across the street, and although there is a cheap parking lot next to the building, we lucked up with street parking every night. We had a total of 5 people staying in the loft, the sofa pulls out into a bed and the person staying on it found it very comfortable.
The rooftop had a great view, but it was entirely too cold this particular weekend to do much. Ideally we wanted to hang out and take photos on it much more. The stairs actually getting up to the apartment are ridiculous though, even the fittest ones amongst my group had difficulty getting up. The walls are also very thin, you can hear exactly what your neighbors are watching or hearing, but luckily we didn't care at all. My only regret was not getting the chance to explore more of Williamsburg during our stay, but that's why we definitely want to visit again and stay at this particular loft! Thanks Jason and Alyssa for opening up your space to us and allowing us to have a comfortable and memorable weekend!
The loft apartment was as stated 'stunning' and exactly what you would expect from a warehouse loft apartment. We had everything we needed and the location was excellent. Short walk to subway, and bars, restaurants, and interesting shops. Even though it was cold, the industrial heater got the apartment very warm within minutes!
The apartment and neighborhood are great. There are a ton of cool restaurants in the area and it is easy to get around. We also stayed in and cooked one night and the kitchen is well furnished with everything you need. Jason was always responsive and helpful including being flexible with timing when we were getting in a bit early and leaving a bit late. I would definitely recommend this apartment for anyone looking to stay in Williamsburg.
My wife and I own and run a small product design company in Brooklyn. We both speak fluent Spanish (I lived in Barcelona for a few years after college, she in Puerto Rico) and I speak a decent Italian.
