My comfortable one bedroom apt (king bed and sofa bed) tucked away inside this restored historic barn is a perfect spot for a cozy rural get away or staycation. I follow Airbnb's 5-step enhanced cleaning process. Moments away from world class food and drinks, this beautiful rural surrounding is a wonderland for many activities.

The space
The historic Greensboro Barn at Turning Stone Farm was built in 1880. The apartment, my home, studio, gallery and event space are under it's quarter acre roof. Thirty years of renovations have transformed this property into a wonderful place to have an unforgetable experience. Located in the heart of Greensboro, the barn is just a half-mile from Caspian Lake and the village and a few miles to Hill Farmstead Brewery. There is wifi, though because of this rural area it's not always reliable for streaming. The space has it's own entrance with finished wood floors, deep set windows and unique live-edge, raw wood trim throughout. There is one large bedroom, (king bed) and a kitchenette, dining, and living space (with a full/futon couch) and a full bathroom with a Tub/Shower unit. The space is well insulated and heated with a beautiful, gas (wood style) stove. The kitchenette is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, electric hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker, electric tea kettle and crock pot and lots of cookware.

Willey's Store, a well known old fashion general store, sells groceries, Jasper Cellars cheese, Hill Farmstead beer, gasoline and marks the center of Greensboro Village and is less than a mile away. Hardwick, the center of the locavore movement is just 6 miles away with restaurants that serve farm to table fare. Near by is the Craftsbury Outdoor Center with summer rowing and biking, in winter x-c skiing, skating and good food (rentals available).

The barn is an inspiring agricultural cathedral and is surrounded with gardens and fruit trees. There are wonderful places nearby to walk, run, ski, hike or bike; and just down my road you can play golf on a beautiful 9 hole golf course or tennis on one of the 7 red clay courts. The pristine Caspian Lake, is the heart of the area and features great swimming, boating and (ice) fishing.

It's not every day that one gets to stay in a barn and experience a beautiful piece of paradise.

Guest access
Guests have access to the main level of the barn and all the gardens and outside surroundings.

I am the fifth generation of my family to spend summers on Caspian Lake in Greensboro. It is a very special place, which I have deep affection for and where I decided to live year round and raise my three children. Over twenty years ago I bought and saved an old historic 1880s barn and converted the chicken coop, milk house, cow stalls etc. into our home, my studio and gallery. The Greensboro Barn and property is a labor of love and an extension of my creative work as an artist. It is surrounded by a large field, beautiful trees, berry bushes, flowers, vegetable gardens and a greenhouse, all of which provide me with endless and enjoyable projects. I paint with watercolors, make functional pottery and porcelain jewelry, which are for sale in my gallery open year round by chance or by appointment. I know this region and its people well and would be happy to host you on your next trip to the area. I know you will love it here too!
