Description

My comfortable one bedroom apt tucked away inside this magnificent historic barn is a perfect spot for a quiet cozy get away. Moments away from world class food and drinks, this beautiful rural surrounding is a wonderland for many activities.

The historic Greensboro Barn was built in 1880. I have been in love with this barn my whole life. Over twenty five years ago I decided to make it into my home, where I raised my family and have my studio and gallery. Located in the heart of Greensboro, the barn is just a half-mile from Caspian Lake and the village and a few miles to Hill Farmstead Brewery. There is wifi, though because of this rural area it's not always reliable for streaming. The space has it's own entrance with finished wood floors, deep set windows and unique live-edge, raw wood trim throughout. There is one large bedroom, and a kitchenette, dining, and living space (with a full/futon couch) and a full bathroom. The space is well insulated and heated with a beautiful, gas (wood style) stove. The kitchenette is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, electric hot plate, toaster oven, coffee maker, electric tea kettle and crock pot.

Willey's Store, a well known old fashion general store, sells groceries, Jasper Cellars cheese, Hill Farmstead beer, gasoline and marks the center of Greensboro Village and is less than a mile away. Hardwick, the center of the locavore movement is just 6 miles away with restaurants that serve farm to table fare. Near by is the Craftsbury Outdoor Center with summer rowing and biking, in winter x-c skiing, skating and good food (rentals available).

The barn is an inspiring agricultural cathedral, which has been lovingly restored over a 25 year period, and is surrounded with gardens and fruit trees. There are wonderful places nearby to walk, run, ski, hike or bike; and just down my road you can play or x-c ski on a beautiful 9 hole golf course or one of the 7 red clay tennis courts. The pristine Caspian Lake, is the heart of the area and features great swimming, boating and (ice) fishing.

It's not every day that one gets to stay in a barn and experience a beautiful piece of paradise.

Guests have access to the main level of the barn and all the gardens and outside surroundings.

I will gladly inform and give suggestions to anyone who is interested and leave anyone on their own if that is what they are wanting!

My neighborhood is an outdoor paradise. It is safe, quiet and beautiful any time of year, day or night.

It is walking distance to the lake and village of Greensboro. This is a great area for biking, skiing, walking, hiking, kayaking, sailing and a car is preferable for greater distances.

Whatever your interests are-just ask and I'll point you in the right direction.

This preserved and historic barn home is our daughter's idea of heaven! We were excited to learn that it was within driving range to Sterling College in Craftsbury Common. It was very comfortable (providing what we needed for 2 adults and a student/ 2 nights) and the area is beautifully picturesque. We appreciate Jennifer's artistic talent with paint and clay which is displayed throughout and the historic significance of preserving such a magnificent barn! We've just discovered yet another reason to love Vermont!

Couldn't have been more charming. Was comfortable and well equipped, complete with the most scenic views, beautiful pottery and artwork. Close to Willies general store which has everything. The perfect home base for a Nordic ski weekend. Jennifer is delightful and very helpful. We will be back!!

Jennifer's place is truly magical. My boyfriend and I visited for a couple days after Christmas and despite the heavy snow we had a wonderful time. The apartment was warm (even with freezing weather outside) and cozy, and had everything we needed and more (don't leave without checking out her collection of old VHS tapes!). The barn itself is really cool and her art is gorgeous, too. And the Greensboro area is great for a getaway. Make sure to check out Hill Farmstead Brewery while you're in the area! Thanks for everything, Jennifer!

Our stay in Greensboro was beyond perfect. Jennifer went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and give us some awesome suggestions for the area which we really appreciated. The barn was beautiful, everything that we were hoping for and more. We will definitely stay here again the next time we make the trip up to Hill Farmstead!

Our last minute birthday getaway weekend was perfect at the Greensboro Barn!! Jennifer was a lovely host and her accommodations were just as described. If you are looking for a relaxing, one with nature kind of weekend, this is your place!!! Perfect jumping off point for Hills Farmstead, Willey's store, Calendonia spirits , and all other things fabulous about the Northeast Kingdom! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! I mean really....what other air b n b host would help you clean snow off your car in the morning?????? Thanks for a great weekend Jennifer!!! Oh yes....and don't forget to check out Jennifers beautiful works of art ...I'm sipping tea out of one of her mugs right now and it brings me right back to that slice of heaven up north!

I am the fifth generation of my family to spend summers on Caspian Lake in Greensboro. It is a very special place, which I have deep affection for and where I decided to live year round and raise my three children. Over twenty years ago I bought and saved an old historic 1880s barn and converted the chicken coop, milk house, cow stalls etc. into our home, my studio and gallery. The Greensboro Barn and property is a labor of love and an extension of my creative work as an artist. It is surrounded by a large field, beautiful trees, berry bushes, flowers, vegetable gardens and a greenhouse, all of which provide me with endless and enjoyable projects. I paint with watercolors, make functional pottery and porcelain jewelry, which are for sale in my gallery open year round by chance or by appointment. I know this region and its people well and would be happy to host you on your next trip to the area. I know you will love it here too!
