The space
Comfortable and welcoming, with thoughtful homely touches, this cosy retreat is perfect for two yet spacious enough for family and friends. Stunning views fill almost every window.

The well-equipped kitchen makes mealtimes a joy, with dining that feels connected to the outdoors. Open the doors for panoramic views, sunset suppers on the terrace, or evenings by the fire pit with hanging griddle under starry skies.

Inside, deep sofas and underfloor heating keep things warm and relaxing. Four bedrooms include a king with en-suite, double, and two twin rooms. There is a Family bathroom with bath and shower.

Boot room, utility, extra fridge freezer, bike storage available. We live next door—nearby if needed, but your privacy is always respected.

Other things to note
Set in peaceful countryside, the cottage is surrounded by open fields with a burn running along two sides (securely fenced). Enjoy dark skies, birdsong and the gentle sounds of wildlife.
A small summer hut at the bottom of the garden offers shelter from typical Highland weather or midges while enjoying the fire pit, and provides a lockable space for outdoor equipment.
Family-friendly throughout – please ask if you have specific requirements for very young children.

My work: I work on my small croft looking after my animals and growing vegetables. I also work as a crofting mentor for new entrants to crofting and smallholding.
I’ve lived in the Scottish countryside all my life and have called Cuil Bay home for over 30 years. Cuil Lodge is our former family home, recently renovated with great care. It has always been a happy place, and we’re delighted to share it so others can enjoy it as much as we have. When not busy on our small croft, I’m usually out riding or making the most of the wonderful outdoor activities this area offers.
