Interaction with Guests

My husband and I live on the farm under the same roof as the Apartment, ours is the first door, the Apartment the next one over. We try to greet our guests upon arrival to show them around the Apartment and the Farm. We have several other accommodations on the Farm, spread out over the 27 acres, so you may see other people enjoying a quite walk or joining us for a bonfire. If you arrive after 9PM you can let yourself in and we will show you around in the morning. We do offer some shared meals so if you take us up on this invitation then we will get to know each other, sometimes the pizza parties turn into late night fun!

The Neighborhood

The primary attraction around here are the State Parks where you can hike, climb, snow shoe, cross country ski and swim. Within a 10 minute drive there are some amazing restaurants and shops for after you have enjoyed nature. You can also walk to the rail trail witch runs along side the Roundout River for a 5 mile walk into the next town. If you are looking for some more excitement then you can drive to Woodstock or New Paltz where you will find more shopping, restaurants, Bars, Concerts and Dancing. If you are looking for the performing arts I recommend Bard College and Kattsbann International Dance Center, both across the river.

  • I shared this apartment with two friends and my dog for three days and it was a perfect escape from the city. Beth and Tim were very friendly, and they let their beautiful dogs play with my skittish rescue. We loved meeting the horses on the farm and exploring the grounds. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen has only a hot plate (not stove/oven), but we weren't doing any major cooking anyway. The hot tub was great in the midst of the snow and stars. The house is located within easy driving distance of lots of cute towns. I would definitely go back.

  • We had a beautiful and romantic getaway at Beth and Tim's apartment. The apartment was perfect for a couple looking to have a relaxing time away from the busy city. We enjoyed the hot tub both at night and during the day and found some great walks available in the snow as well as beautiful hikes near by. I recommend this place to anyone needing a relaxing trip on a beautiful farm. The hosts were extremely accommodating and helped us with anything we asked for!

  • Really sweet apartment, very clean, nice kitchen. The property is beautiful. All the apartment windows look out into fields and it is very light and airy. The family keeps horses, 3 friendly dogs and a pig - lots of fun if you have kids. The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. The neighborhood isn't much to speak of, but it is pretty and rural and quiet. There are good restaurant options about 15 minutes away.

The absolute best part of this rental was the outdoor hot tub! We got to sit in it under the stars, looking out over snowy fields while the moon came up.

One note, this is probably obvious but it's an apartment in a house, so you do hear footsteps above. It didn't bother us and wasn't intense.

  • We had a picturesque weekend in Beth & Tim's apartment. It was following a huge snowstorm in the area, but they could not have been more accommodating. The apartment was perfect for our needs, exactly as pictured, and there's not one thing I can think of that we would've needed that wasn't provided. The property was gorgeous, hot tub was a great addition, and the apartment was super clean. We'd definitely coming again!

  • Great experience at Tim and Beth's place-- loved the beautiful horses, friendly dogs, and hot tub! Would do it again!

    January 2014
  • Staying at Tim's and Beth's place was a great pleasure! We loved it and will definitely be back in the summer! Since it was very cold outside, we spend much time in the clean cozy apartment and in the hot tub. Our son had plenty of toy that Tim had organized for us.
The farm is gorgeous, with horses, a pig, little streams, etc to look at.

Thank you for the great time!

  • We were at the apartment for a very relaxing Christmas break.
The hot tub was great. Imagine sitting in the hot tub at night and looking up to the stars and sky.
This is a typical 20 acres farm with horse, dogs, cats and a pig.
The apartment is very clean and well equipped with all kitchen facilities.
If one wants to cook in, there is the microwave and toaster oven. The hot plates took a long time to cook but we were on vacation and were not rushed to get anywhere so it was fine.
Beth and Tim were very welcoming.

  • We got in touch with Beth and Tim the day before we wanted to stay and arranged a 1-night stay with no problem at all. We had a lovely day on the farm with everything we needed. We had no problems at all, but had the impression that Tim was there to help with anything if needed (Beth was out of town). There was also a list of stores, restaurants, and activities in the area. We especially enjoyed using the hot tub in the snow and playing with the adorable animals on the farm! Our only complaint was that our stay was too short - we would definitely come back. Thanks Tim and Beth!

  • Wonderful place to stay! Beautiful, scenic, great craftsmanship all around the property. We were greeted and given a tour of the property. Next time we come back, we're staying in the yurt! Thanks again!

  • Very nice people. Love the dogs. Clean. Firm, comfortable bed. Liked the bathroom- great shower. Hosts offered us a lot, but we got up early, left for the day and returned late at night. Maybe next time we will get to enjoy all of their nice amenities. Review by Melba, wife of Edwards
