Cosy double bedroom in a flat within a traditional stone built house in the centre of Windermere.
The flat itself is very cosy and full of interesting furnishings and vintage finds as Margaret used to run an antique shop before retiring. She is a keen crafts person and expert rag rugger so there is always some new and interesting project to see and anyone wanting to have a go is very welcome.
The bedroom is a double bedroom at the top of the house and has antique furniture . The private bathroom for guests exclusive is immediatly outside the room and has a bath with overhead shower.
A continental breakfast will be provided either in the dining room area of the sitting room or, if preferred in the kitchen ar the rear of the property which is reached by wooden steps which lead to the balcony just outside.
The railway station is just a five minute walk and there are many buses which connect to many other Lake District beauty spots.
Windermere lake shore can be reached on foot in approx 20 minutes via a lovely footpath which avoids the main road and there is a short walk up to the Orrest Head view point from where there is a 360 degree view of the lake, the surrounding fells and even the sea on a clear day. And from here for the more adventurous there are extensive footpaths from which many fells, tarns and valleys can be reached.
Windermere town boasts some interesting small shops including a well stocked second hand bookshop, outdoor clothing shops, bakers, florists, tea shops and cafes as well as the famous Booths family run supermarket which stocks many local products.

Margaret's place was very stylish, clean and safe. It was really easy to find and the access to main attractions are very convenient (restaurants, Morrisons, tourist companies...). The room is spacious and well-equipped. We had a lovely stay and nice experience during our short stay of 2 days. Highly recommended for anyone who looks for a getaway, the Lake District is very breathtaking and we just wish we could spend more days exploring it :)
Margaret was really nice and helpful and it was a bonus to have a lovely breakfast! A perfect location to explore the Lake District and some nice places to wander to in the evening. Very comfy bed too!

Very near the head view to see the overall view of Windermere. A little walk to the town centre. And near a small path to the woods. Really thx the breakfast, very nice! Cheers

We really enjoyed staying with Margaret. The house is in an excellent location and Margaret made us feel like we were right at home. The breakfast was delicious too! :) Thank you again Margaret for hosting us!
We had a very good stay at Margaret's place. Very convenient as it is just very near the train station. The house is clean and well organised. We were provided with the things we needed. Breakfast was lovely and on time. Margaret is friendly and always ready to help, even offered to meet us at the station in case we found it hard to find our way to her place. All in all, the experience was good and I highly recommend Margaret's BnB.
Sorry for describing late. Margaret is so nice! Her house is so beautiful and clean. All the facilities are in good condition and enough hot water supply. The breakfast is great especially the jams. I love it so much. In the first we arrived, we were running late for catching a ferry to lakeside. Margaret gave us a drive! We were so thankful! She also gave us some recommendation for restaurants, which were great!
