Hello to An Tionól Cottage. We are a family of 4 people who have been building and reclaiming an old Irish stone cottage for the past 11 years. We grow a lot of our own food and love the richness and simplicity of living in nature.

The space

This is a traditional irish cottage in the west of Ireland near Gort town. Surrounded by lakes, natural forest and close to Galway, the Burren, Kinvara, Cliffts of Moher, east clare, and Ennis. It is the perfect location as a base for your holidays in the west of Ireland.

We offer a luxurious wooden cabin with own outdoor bathroom.
We also have an onsuit little cottage, very comfortable and charming.
You are welcome to use toilet facilities also in the main house. We can offer a healthy breakfast for 5 euro more per person. Other meals can also be arrange with time. We eat mostly organic, local and own produced food as possible.

At the Cottage we are a family of 4 with a small organic farm and some animals.

We also have our own family business with guests who come here for an english and community experience in an intercultural setting and we also host residential workshop weekends.

This is a unique opportunity to experience a community and family environment while you are visiting Ireland.

We will support you with any information and tourist attractions you might want to visit. Also with those hidden places that are as worthwhile visiting as those that are in all the guides.

Marta and Nick were wonderful hosts. The cabins were clean and warm perfect for a rustic overnight stay. Breakfast was great. Thanks again!

I had a great time in Gort and an even more pleasant stay at Marta's place. I was welcomed warmly and made sure I had everything I need. The family was friendly and accommodating. The cottage was clean, comfortable and spacious enough although be mindful about not hitting your head if you're sleeping on the lower bunk bed. For an extra $5, the breakfast was quite abundant and so appreciated. The location was also close enough to access the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, Kinvarra and Killarney. The neighborhood felt safe and it was quiet and restful at night. If you are up for something different and with a minimal and rustic feel, this is the place to be.

My stay at Nick & Martas was wonderful! My first Airbnb experience, and i couldn't have asked for anything better. I was always welcome in their home, and was even invited to Marta's birthday party that happened to be the same weekend i was there. When convenient she aslo let me hitch a ride with her if we were going in the same direction. Fresh homemade breakfast every morning was a nice thing to wake up to and the forrest surrounding the area are worth a walk through. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, and sweet family to stay with on this coast of Ireland.

What an amazing experience we had here! Nick and Marta made us feel very welcome and gave us great ideas on where to experience true Ireland adventures. Marta created morning breakfasts that were varietal and healthy. I even joined in on an impromptu international meditation group one morning. Another night we joined in a campfire gathering of music with neighbors and friends. I must say that you must be willing to drive out into the country to stay here but well worth the effort and it is centrally located to experience alot of the main tourist destinations. This was a once in a lifetime experience for my husband and I that I will hold close to my heart...:-)!!!

Driving up to An Tional was thrilling and magical…the windy roads with wildflowers cascading down the sides of the banks promised a delight that we were so excited to see! We weren’t disappointed! Marta and Nick, owners of An Tional have created a magical oasis in one of the most special places in Ireland. The organic traditional farm complete with mama kitty and kittens opened up our hearts to peace and tranquility. The rustic, newly built cottages were super clean and comfy with thick duvets and teas and chocolate mints! Marta’s breakfast was one of the best we had in Ireland, all fresh and organic, complete with fresh baked breads and honey right out of the neighbor’s hive! We so enjoyed our stay with Marta and Nick and look forward to June 2014, when we will indeed return to this very special and magical place! Love & Light! Pat, Jess and Jim

Nick and Marta are a couple from Spain and ireland. We have two children and live in a small organic farm. We are interested in education and in creativity always finding ways of self expression and personal development, and creating sustainability organically, and at our own rythm.
We are very easy going and we both are interested in sharing spaces and learning from each other. We like life music and sometimes we offer live music sessions at our cottage.
