About This Listing
Wifi, private bathroom, free breakfast and parking
Ten years ago we moved to Haarlem into a beautiful house, just outside Haarlem's 'old city'. The house, which was built in 1903, has an unique atmosphere and character. We live here with our 8 year old daughter. We look forward to meeting you and to share our passions for Haarlem, museums, good restaurants, beaches and nature.
You stay in a private room on the first floor and you have your own private bathroom (with rainshower and toilet). The room has two single beds, bath- and bedlinen is included. We serve you a nice (free!) breakfast. Parking is free (with a permit for guests) at the front of the house. The house is just a 8 minute walk from the 'Grote Markt' (big market square) of Haarlem and a 10 minute walk to the train station, if you want to go elsewhere. Haarlem offers a variety of good restaurants and we love to share some of our favourite addresses with you.
Enjoy the beautiful historical town of Haarlem with its numerous restaurants, nice canals, old small streets, beautiful shops and interesting museums, among which the oldest museum in Holland, the famous Teylers Museum (art, natural history and science, established in 1778).
Haarlem is close to Amsterdam and the beaches (both less than 15 minutes by train or car). Haarlem is also very close to Leiden (old university town), the cheese markets of Alkmaar and one hour from Rotterdam (city of modern architecture). Only a few miles from Haarlem is the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park, known for its estates, forests, sand dunes and coastal beaches.
Haarlem is only 25 minutes by car from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
There is a bike rental shop around the corner of our street from which you can rent bikes for €8/day.
Within 10 minutes walking distance from our place there is a boat rental service, which rents out electrically powered boats to discover Haarlem's canals at your own leisure.
You easily understand that Haarlem is an excellent choice to stay and why we love to live here: away from busy Amsterdam, but still close to it and close to everything else!
Please send a message first before booking to check availability. Because of our jobs there is usually no ‘check-in’ on Monday or Tuesday.
We really like to have you as a guest in our home. We enjoy small talks and will certainly provide you with information. We'll try to make your stay very comfortable. We serve a free breakfast every morning at the time you request.
We will not come into your room during the time you stay with us, but you will get clean towels every day.
There is a small tv in the room with a selection of dvds. We have wifi, and will provide you with the code when you arrive. Your room has also an Nespresso coffeemaker, a water cooker and a minibar.
If we can do anything else for you, we will try to help you. We are a small family, and will do 'normal' things that families do. Our daughter has to go to school during weekdays, so you might hear something in the morning. It has never been a problem with our guests. We have a nice place for easygoing guests who will enjoy the Netherlands as a tourist, who maybe will go to the beach, enjoy a nice restaurant, a visit to the Keukenhof or Amsterdam. If you would like to 'party' in Amsterdam, it is better to look further for another place. :)
Prima bedden. Grote verrassing was de eigen badkamer. Het ontbijt verrukkelijk, goed verzorgd. De tips waren ook erg welkom. Kortom, Ik heb een paar hekje dagen bij hen gehad. Zeer aan te raden!
Menno, Ingrid and Famke are superb hosts and it felt like I was staying with good friends. Their home is immaculately clean and my bedroom was extremely comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious, especially the home made granola and fruit smoothies! My only regret was that I didn't stay longer.

I recommend your host.
The home IS charming and the hosts are warm and welcoming! The room is perfect! I particularly appreciated the mini-bar\fridge and television with movies. Ingrid left chocolates for us too and welcomed us with a cold drink! Having a bathroom for our own personal use was wonderful! Ingrid and Menno thought of everything...right down to extra shampoos and a hairdryer for our use. Add to all this the breakfast that they provided everyday - it was a highlight of our day! Thank you so much!!! I highly recommend this listing!
Menno and Ingrid are wonderful hosts. We had a delightful 3-day stay at their beautiful home. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable, located in a very quiet neighbourhood.
We especially enjoyed the breakfasts there with delicous homemade müsli and smoothies, accompanied by interesting and stimulating talks with our hosts. We can highly recommend this nice place. Thank you Menno, Ingrid and Famke for making our stay in Haarlem such a memorable and pleasant experience.
