Very comfortable and clean, and a terrific location. Highly recommend it.
Having never been to this part of Mexico, my wife and I were pleasantly surprised with San Miguel. What a wonderful city. We immediately found our new 2 week home and unpacked. The host left fresh flowers and fruit. Additionally a generous supply of water was provided for drinking and cooking. The apartment is a second story unit with everything needed to live comfortably for a long period.
We had dishes, cookware, utensils, bedding, towels, etc. for a comfortable stay. The apartment was a bit cold due to the average January average temperature so we ran the living room propane heater a few times. This took the chill off this area of the house.
The location is excellent in relation to the central part of town and the El Jardin is a comfortable walk. We dined at the Tin Tin Pie on a few occasions. Generally we could find a parking place very near the apartment.
We enjoyed the fireworks that frequent both the late and early hours and some of the evening onces over the El Jardin made for wonderful pictures.
We would stay here again.
Host very welcoming and helpful.
Apartment is everything you could need in a stay-clean, comfortable and well supplied.
Casa Shambhala is a great AirBnB. We arrived with easy instructions on how to find the place and get in and found a very comfortable and warm place to stay.
Even though we were only there for a couple of days and didn't meet our host, we felt well taken care our and couldn't think of ways to improve our time staying there.
Casa Shambhala would definitely be the first place that I would think of staying when I return to San Miguel de Allende in the future.
For the most part, we enjoyed our stay at Casa Shambhala. The apartment is extremely well located just a short walk from the Jardin on a very quiet street. We were pleasantly surprised at how quiet our stay was - we heard NO firecrackers, barking dogs, or traffic. The apartment is clean and bright as well as very roomy and comfortable, and we appreciated the fresh flowers that greeted us on arrival.
Be warned, however, that the apartment is quite cold, so make sure you bring enough warm clothing. We could not get the propane space heater to work at all (out of propane?), and the little electric space heater would not work in the bathroom (turned off as soon as the element heated up), although we discovered late in our stay that it did work plugged in elsewhere in the apartment (odd, I know).
Also, the only staples in the kitchen were salt, pepper, and a little sugar. We had to go to the store on our first day to get coffee, tea, dishwashing liquid, bath soap, and even Kleenex. Maybe we were spoiled by our one other AirBnB experience which provided these basic items plus other niceties like bath products, but my daughter, a frequent Air BnB user, says that apartments are usually stocked with these items. We did leave the coffee and tea for the next tenants to enjoy.
We saw our host only briefly shortly after our arrival who provided a cursory introduction to the apartment. We would consider staying here again.
Fresh flowers and fresh fruit on arrival! Great location and VERY safe neighborhood. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to come back next year.
