Joseph welcomed me into his East Village apartment with open arms. He met me in person during check-in and showed me around his apartment. The apartment itself was a typical East Village experience and fit four people comfortably. Joe also provided an air mattress and plenty of p…

The place was OK, but expensive for what it offered. The comunicaron with the host was not as fluid as I expected. Also, some nights It was cold and when we asked for more blankets we didn't get any, nor any response from the host. Nevertheless it was a fairly good experience.

Response from Joseph:
Daniel was a really good guest and I was surprised to see his review was not better. Hotel rooms in NYC are $250+ for a studio apartment in midtown. This is a two bedroom in a really great neighborhood. Daniel might have different expectations of hotels in NYC and having been a host for many years, I have received mostly opposite feedback... this is a good value. Regardless, Daniel is entitled to his opinion and perhaps he should do more research if he was concerned with price. It's not like any of the pricing was a surprise. Regarding communication. Again, I am surprised... because we had really good conversations and he and I were in constant communication during his stay. I was even flexible with his dates and allowed him to keep his luggage here when he left NYC for 3 days in the middle of his trip (which I did not charge him for). Having more blankets.. yes that would've been useful. Daniel was staying during the time when the weather was changing and the building had not turned on the heat yet. Thats how buildings operate in NYC. To the contrary, I provided him with a space heater and 'some' extra blankets, although he expressed that he needed more. Eventually it became a moot point because the weather turned the following day and was 72 degrees. All in all, I gave Daniel a good review back. He was a nice guy and his review surprised me. It seems there was just a difference in expectations here. Alas, this is common when operating in a home-sharing environment. Best of luck Daniel.
