Interaction with Guests
We are welcoming hosts, a happy midlife couple living in the same apartment building. We speak English, French, Dutch, Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, and basic German. We are keen to welcome & accommodate one person or a couple as much as possible, as well as a family or group of friends renting more rooms. Welcome to Brussels!
Birds aren't singing, cows don't moo, and one cannot expect a dead silence in our downtown neighbourhood at any given time of day. Although, I love one doesn't need a car or use a public transport to get around and to stroll this vibrant, to many unexpectedly tiny, Brussels.
It is well located for public transport, with railway station Brussels-North (Gare du Nord) and metro station Rogier just few minutes walk away.

I stayed for a few days and I was very pleased. The location is perfect (well connected with other areas), the flat was clean with all appliances (fully equipped kitchen, bed linen, towels, iron etc.) so you don't need to travel with your own. WiFi worked fine even in the farthest room (which is rare). The flat was very clean.
Aida provided a detailed instructions how to get to the apartment from the airport, which was very accurate.
I was able to check in earlier then it was in the ad.
I'll definitely go beak to this apartment next time.
The location was simply perfect well connected to the center,
The flat was perfect everything clean and full equipped with all you can need,
Aida's instructions on getting to the apartment from the airport were detailed and accurate, and she was extremely welcoming and friendly. I felt right at home. She and her husband live in another part of the building, so one is totally independent. I arrived rather late but Aida waited up for me and took the time to give me a map of Brussels, explain how to get to the centre and answer my questions.
I had the smallest room of the three available with a huge wardrobe, a desk, a very comfortable large bed and loads of natural light. The bathroom has colour-coded shelves and cupboards for guests to use for their toiletries, and there was soap, cotton buds, towels in abundance and even shampoo available. This apartment is fully-equipped with washing machine and dryer, kitchen with stove, microwave and fridge. Every guest has a welcome beer waiting for them in the fridge and chocolates on their pillow! I did not expect such lovely gestures!
The apartment block is not in the most glamorous part of town but is within a 5-minute walk from the biggest shopping street and a 2-minute walk from the train station. The kitchen windows look out on glass skyscrapers and the railway tracks, so there is some noise from trains, but it didn't bother me.
The flat is neatly organized for all occupants, all the required facilities are there. Makes the stay very comfortable, and it is from a pleasant walking distance to the center.

About the Host, Aida
I like challenges and diversity, but most of all, human unpredictability and spontaneity. I love people, and enjoy the company of those who don't easily plunge into disappointment, past or daze, but are willing to explore, learn, and share.

This long & famous Moroccan-Turkish shopping street is just around the corner. Shops are open mostly from 10 a.m. 6:30 p.m. (majority closed on Mondays). Some "kebab" restaurants are open 24/7.

Nearest shopping mall (250 m; at the beginning of RUE NEUVE, the main shopping street in Brussels)
You're in the Comic Strip Capital of the World!!!
Less known peeing statue... ;-)
This station is 1,5 km from our building. I'd recommend a nice stroll (15 min) or a short taxi ride.
Main Brussels' square GRAND PLACE is literally in the middle of the city - 1,4 km from our building. Strolling there it usually takes 15 min... or more, down city's main shopping street RUE NEUVE ;-)
Zinneke (dog) is the latest addition to the family of peeing statues in Brussels. Zinneke in Brussels dialect means someone of mixed origins, symbolizing the mixture of populations living in Brussels.
Literally: Little Man Pee
Since its opening in 2000, the MIM has become a first class cultural attraction on the Mont des Arts.

From Gare du Midi station, there are only 6 stops with underground tram 3, 4 or 31 to reach Gare du Nord and our building. All together it shouldn't take you more than 25 minutes.
