Interaction with Guests
We are welcoming hosts, a happy midlife couple living in the same apartment building. We speak English, French, Dutch, Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, and basic German. We are keen to welcome & accommodate one person or a couple as much as possible, as well as a family or group of friends renting more rooms. Welcome to Brussels!
Birds aren't singing, cows don't moo, and one cannot expect a dead silence in our urban neighbourhood at any given time of day. Although, I love one doesn't need a car or use a public transport to get around and to stroll this vibrant, to many unexpectedly tiny, downtown Brussels.
It is well located for public transport, with railway station Brussels-North (Gare du Nord) and metro station Rogier just few minutes walk away.
For example, a train ride from BRU airport to Gare du Nord takes 10-15 minutes, and Grand Place (the main Brussels' square in the middle of town) is a short 15 minutes stroll away (1,5 km / less than a mile), through the city's main shopping street.

Aida's apt was a wonderful place to stay during my week-long trip to Brussels! It is conveniently located near Gare du Nord, only a few minutes to the European Commission, five minutes to all sorts of shopping, and less than 15 to the Grand Place. Like all others have mentioned, Aida is just a gem. She was super helpful during the booking process, showed me around the apt, allowed me to use her phone when my luggage arrived damaged, and was very timely in informing me who else would be staying in the apt with me. The apt itself is set up very well, with lots of care taken to describe which items are for your room. The "gorgeous" room was a generous size and would be fine for two people. Although it doesn't have air conditioning, the fan Aida provides was more than adequate to cool the room (hey, there was a heat wave when I got there!). As others have mentioned, it's not terribly quiet. That said, I stuck in some earplugs and went right to sleep, and it does quiet down around midnight-ish. The area is looks grittier than it really is - it's not gorgeous, but it's not unsafe either. I'd totally stay here again. Aida, thank you!
Aida greeted me upon arrival and provided a thorough introduction. She had well-organized, thorough, printed instructions, guidelines, maps, suggestions, and visitor information. What a treat to have a local beer chilled and ready upon my arrival.
The apartment is well-appointed, as was my room. I did not realize that the room was one of three in an apartment. Perhaps I did not carefully read and understand the description. There were no other guests the night of my stay, so I had the place to myself. The apartment would be a great place for a family or friends traveling together.
The location is convenient to the train station and metro--a 3-5 minute walk. The building is in a mixed neighborhood that some might not appreciate. But for those who enjoy a lively, heterogeneous neighborhood, the location is great.
Aida was most accommodating, especially as I made a late reservation.
Aida's room was a comfortable and cozy. room was perfectly cleaned for us so we could use a neat dishs, towel and other things too.
if you are first at this city, her house would be good for you.
Aida is a warm and friendly host, always on hand to help as and and when needed. Apartment was always kept spotlessly clean during my week long stay. The apartment is very well equipped to make the stay very comfortable, no detail is overlooked. It was a perfect location for me, being 3 minutes walk away from Place Rogier where I was working that week. Thank you, Aida.
Aida has been very helpful and flexible in accepting a late check-in and late check-out.
This place is a real manual on how to organise efficiently a AirBnB apartment.
The room corresponds perfectly to the description; very clean and functional. Many useful things available for guests (umbrella, maps, pens, books, iron and more).
The flat is a bit old, but the apartment has been very recently and very well renovated. It is a bit noisy because of road and railway traffic, but that's the con of being in such a strategic position.

About the Host, Aida
I like challenges and diversity, but most of all, human unpredictability and spontaneity. I love people, and enjoy the company of those who don't easily plunge into disappointment, past or daze, but are willing to explore, learn, and share.
