This house is situated 5 minutes by foot from the most antic street of Rome : the Appia Antica. You'll find the catacombes a couple of minutes by foot. (S. Callisto and S. Domitillo), the Coliseum and the historical center is 10 minutes by bus.
This house is on a safe residential block o on a very quiet and pretty neighborhood.
The 1st bus is in front of the residence's entry (On Via Ardeatina) that take you to Termini train station in 10 minutes ( where you'll find all the lines and the subway) but you'll also find other lines 5-8 minutes by foot from the house on Cristoforo Colombo street that will take you to the historical center ( Forum - Campo de' Fiori, Pantheon) in 15 minutes.
The house has a little garden with Terrace (with table, chairs, umbrella), space for car, barbecue and compost !
At the left side of the house there is the washing machine.
On the entry of the house, you'll find the dinner room and kitchen equipped with all the necessary (cooking utensils, oven, washing machine, plates...)
A lounge area with a sofa, fireplace (that you can use, we can furnish the wood), hi-fi, radio - CD and record player, there is also a piano that you can use !
Still at the ground floor (after 3 steps) you'll find a little bedroom with sofa bed and private bathroom with shower and WC. This bedroom is closed by curtains.
The whole house is equipped with A/C and heating system.
On the 1st floor, the main bedroom with double bed, private bathroom with bathtube and an ample wardrobe.
We wanted this house a little bit ecological so you'll find biological soap and shampoo and ecological cleaning products.
The garden is a permaculture and you'll also find the "compost".
The supermarket, bakery and Bar are 3-5 minutes from the house crossing a public park.
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Very beautiful and peaceful place! Dario was well available and friendly. I am happy with my experience.
We spent five wonderful nights in Dario's house and we loved every minute of it. The house is brilliant- it has everything you might need for an Italian getaway. However, watch out for the low beams in the upper level of the house as we hit our head several times. We bought food from the local deli and supermarket and ate our italian style breakfast in the garden everyday, which was bliss. When ordering latte's remember to ask for a 'caffe latte' or else you'll end up with a warm glass of milk- not ideal when looking for a caffeine fix.
Getting into the center of Rome was very easy- it only takes 20-30 minutes by bus. The number 30 bus takes you to the colosseum and the number 714 takes you to the termini, where you change to the metro system and can also catch a train to the airport. Instead of buying 3 day passes, it's more cost efficient to buy a stack of €1.50 passes which allow you to travel anywhere by metro/bus in 100 minutes.
We recommend hiring a bike and cycling along the ancient via appia antica and visiting the catacombs as they're both located very close to the house. If you're interested in visiting the colosseum and roman forum, tickets for access to both cost €12 from the ticket office.
The best restaurant we recommend is pizzeria da baffetta near Piazza Navona. Get down early as there's always a queue outside the door.
Wow, this was a great place to stay! Everything you need, to have a great time in Rome, the garden was super, with a safe place for the car. We felt very welcome, safe and relaxed at this place! You need the Bus which stops in front of the house, to bring you to the centre. The metro is a pretty long walk. Thats why we rent a vespa! Was awesome. However.. The traffic is really... Heavvy :)
Супер апартаменты, которые находятся в спальном райончике, где всего тихо и свежо, потому что рядом находится громадный парк.
Сами апартаменты двухэтажные, с кухней, стиральной машиной, парковкой, вообщем со всем что необходимо.
We had a wonderful stay in this great little house just outside of the (tourist) centre of Rome. Every single night we were looking forward to coming "home" and sitting in the lovely garden with a bottle of wine. It was a great place to rewind after walking the buzzing streets of Rome all day. And we really enjoyed the selection of music during breakfast!
The longest we ever waited for a bus was 20 minutes, usually much less. So there is no problem getting into the city and back (recommended: buy the big 3 € bus map at the airport tourist center, it really helped us getting around town and back home).
We did not meet Dario himself as he was travelling but a friend of him warmly welcomed us at the door. When there was a problem with the water heater Dario immediately arranged for someone to come and fix it. Thank you for the great vacation - we certainly recommend this place and would always come back.
We absolutely LOVED this little house outside of Rome for our week-long vacation. Dario is very well organized and we had no problems whatsoever. The house had all kinds of little personal touches and they had thought of practically everything. The 30 express bus takes you into the center of Rome within 20-30 minutes (including the walk to the bus) and we found it to be extremely convenient. We often came home in the middle of the afternoon after sightseeing to take a break and then went out again in the center during the evening.
