This house is in a prime location. Right at the beach with sea views and mountain views. In this area, the coast exhibits a fascinating variety. More than 100 different beaches can be found in Ubatuba area: Small secluded or long and wide, with or without crowds of Brazilian tourists, with calm sea for swimming or picturesque fishing bays or wild surfing spots. Ubatuba is rated 'The Surf Capital of São Paulo State'. It is one of the best spots in Brazil for snorkelling or diving and boats can take you to some islands.
The house is simple and clean - typical Brazilian style for this area. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen-diner, a small sitting room with sea views, a BBQ area, an outside terrace, a balcony on first floor and a large solario (sunbathing terrace on second floor) with stunning views!
Up to 3 cars can park on the premises. The house is guarded by a lovely housekeeper, who can look after you and your belongings if required.
!!! NEW !!!
We have now added some kit for juicing and exercising: juicer, blender, wall charts, juice recipe books, re-bounders (small trampoline), yoga mats, weights, pull-up bar). So, you can continue (or switch to) a healthy lifestyle with all the Brazilian fresh fruits!
You can easily go on a detox, weight loss plan or simply improve your health. We provide some books with recipes and diet plans for you (by the 'Juice Master' Jason Vale in English).
Looking for accommodation for the Olympic Games Rio 2016? Come and stay here in Ubatuba. Ubatuba is only a few hours drive away from Rio along the beautiful coastline. Stay here before, after or during the Olympic Games Rio 2016 and travel by car or bus!
The same applies to accommodation for the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016 of course :)
The house is all yours during your stay. The housekeeper lives on the same premises but in their own house. You have access to all equipment, facilities and a washing machine. The washing machine is shared with the housekeeper.
Interaction with Guests
I am not usually at the house myself. The housekeeper will let you in, show you around and check you out. This is all they do - otherwise, the house is all yours.
Having said this, the housekeepers can interact more with you if you wish. They can do the shopping for you, prepare the food, do the juicing for you, wash your clothes or clean more often (otherwise, the house is cleaned before and after your stay only). Simply ask me for additional services that you may like to have.
The house is at the beach Perequê-Acu, which is next to the central beach of Ubatuba. I love the neighborhood. It is calmer here than in the center. The area features some small shops and you will be able to purchase everything you need for your holiday - in walking distance! Including restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, fruit shops and bakeries - fresh Brazilian bread rolls!
If you fancy, you can drive to the center within minutes or walk there in 30 minutes. The center of Ubatuba offers an uncountable number of eating-out opportunities. Also, shops, bars, cafes, a small airport, a fresh fish market, banks, nightlife, open-air concerts, aquarium, turtle conservation centre, etc. etc. Ubatuba is THE holiday destination for Brazilians. You will not find many foreign tourists here. So, you will be fully exposed to the Brazilian culture!
I personally think that no 'typical tourist' location like Rio de Janeiro or Santos can beat a holiday in this local tourism spot - still a secret location to foreigners.
The small road in front of the house is a quiet cul-de-sac. So, not much traffic here at all. The beach in front of the house is good for paddle boarding (SUP), for beginners surfing and for snorkeling / diving. The next beach 'Vermelha do Norte' features good waves for advanced surfing!
Ubatuba is located in the 'Serra do Mar' which is part of the UNESCO biosphere reserve 'Mata Atlantica'. The Serra do Mar is a very special Atlantic Forest with very high biodiversity, mangroves, waterfalls and other surprises. 565 different bird species have been identified.
The house itself is located in a quiet spot (well, during peak times, there can be parties at the bars on the beach). The ocean in front of the house is usually calm but suitable for SUP and beginners surfers. The beach here is not crowded at all and invites for swimming, walking, jogging, beach volleyball, exercising - or sunbathing of course.
Not many Brazilians speak English. However, Brazilians are very friendly and curious people. They are used to communicating with gestures ;) So, don't worry. Some bars and restaurants have got English menus. The house and most bars have got WiFi.
For trips by car, you can use the Brazilian equivalent of the 'Highway One'. This stretches from Santos through Ubatuba to Rio de Janeiro - and further. I recommend visiting Parati, located between Ubatuba and Rio. You can reach this small and picturesque town filled with art by following the Brazilian 'Highway One' along the ocean and through the 'jungle', which feels like nature is absorbing you.
So, everything in reach and something for everyone. Great when holidaying with friends and family as everyone can find something great to do and BE HAPPY!
Bus services from Sao Paulo or Guarulhos airport to Ubatuba are available and a short taxi drive will take you to the house. We can probably arrange a pick-up from the airport as well if required - just ask.
However, a car is great to have in Ubatuba if you want to visit some of the other >100 beaches in that area. Also, the journey down to Ubatuba is very scenic and you can stop for food, drinks, views and photos where you like. -> The rental car is always my choice.
Other Things to Note
I have been inspired by Jason Vale - the 'Juice Master' UK - through one of his retreats in Portugal. So, we want to share this with our guests or allow them to follow the diet after a detox retreat. Brazil offers fresh fruits and vegetables everywhere, we provide the kit, books, wallcharts, relevant films and some exercising kit.
You can purchase fresh fruit juices or Coco Gelado (fresh, cool coconut water from the coconut) almost at every corner in Brazil.
So, the perfect place to start or continue a healthy lifestyle - just don't go near one of the great restaurants with Rodizio (lots of meat) or Pizza ;)
After all, Jason himself says that Brazil is 'The real juicing capital of the world'!
The cleaning fee covers more than just cleaning. This really is a service charge for our overheads that we have with each guest (e.g. handing over the keys, checking everything, showing you around the house, preparing beds, linen, etc, etc.). It allows us to keep the pricing levels fair for everyone, whether you stay one day or two weeks. The fee does not cover a full house cleaning. We therefore expect our guests to leave the house reasonably tidy and clean, all dishes washed, etc.
We are happy to do more for you. Please discuss your requirements and agree extra services with our housekeeper directly when you arrive. Also, please agree checkout procedure and exact time when you arrive.
