We were actually somewhat disappointed with this listing. Now a caveat, we did book it only a couple of days prior to staying here so it didn't leave us or the host much time, but our impression stands. When we walked in the whole house smelled rather musty and stagnant - like it hadn't been used in quite some time and definitely not aired out. We had to go purchase multiple air fresheners.
Also, we felt quite misled about the home being listed as near Old Town. The description implied that we were much closer to Old Town than we actually were and the neighborhood the home sits in did not feel the safest and definitely not the homiest. It is next door to a gas station. I think with better description of the listing, this would not have been a disappointment so much as a fact.
We also had two older persons staying in our party and they did not feel particularly safe with the showers - there were two exact same showers that were both small stand-up showers, but there were no slip guards or places to hold on. I know this is a very specific comment, but stands nonetheless.
There was also no kitchen - well, there was a very small counter with a sink and. No stove or oven. As our stay was about 4 days this was an inconvenience, but probably just a detail we didn't think to double check for in a home, assuming there would be some sort of kitchen available.
With all of that said, we did still manage to mostly enjoy our stay. The living room is a nice size with a very comfortable sectional, the bedrooms are also nicely sized with comfortable beds and the 6 of us were more than accommodated in the space.
The host was very good about communicating and providing instructions for entering the home, etc., and was very friendly.
Convenient location very near Hwy 40. Spacious rooms. Good value.
Inside of house was nice, comfortable beds, lots of room to hang out. The area of house took some getting used to seeing it's right off the highway and across the street from the gas station so there were a lot of bums in the area. Never completely felt comfortable to stay at house by myself especially after we got a knock on the door to find that there was pest control coming to treat the house while we were staying there! Once we took a closer look after that it was inevitable they we're treating for mice as there were droppings under the kitchen sink. Glad we were only there for the weekend and not an extended stay and that we had another couple with us.
We had a nice stay at this property...very conveniently located by I-40. Its location is a little odd and uneasy at first, but the community just south is very nice and moments away from old town. The property inside is very nice and spacious with 3BR, 2 bathrooms a large living area, dinning area a and small "kitchen" (not a traditional kitchen, a microwave, half refrigerator and toaster oven).
We loved the home! The location was fantastic for easily accessing the highway, and close to so many other wonderful places. The home was very nice and spacious and the beds were comfortable. The only downside to this house was the lack of an oven in the small kitchenette, but honestly there are so many great restaurants nearby that we barely bother to cook anything. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat!
We felt welcomed and Kathryn's assistant Landon was very helpful during the whole process. The description of the house was very accurate. The neighborhood was a touch shady but I don't know anything about ABQ so I probably would have felt a little uneasy wherever we stayed. There aren't any houses right next to it so it felt a touch vulnerable. Having the office tenant helped a lot! We were there for a wedding at Old Town Farm and the location was PERFECT!
Rachel you were a great guest! Thank you for staying with us. I'm working with the alarm people as we speak. It is always helpful having guests like you willing to call us with questions and suggestions to make a better customer experience. You are always welcome!
The Rose Ave home met our expectations and the description was accurate. Attempts to contact the host (address listed in Las Vegas, NV) about some shortcomings were less than satisfactory. For instance, asking where we could find clean garbage bags, we were told to purchase them.
The neighborhood is busy and noisy, but that was not a distraction (we all slept well). The location was perfect for our purposes.
