The Space

The Perfect Family Cottage is a modern two-storied house in a quiet neighborhood of San Francisco. Newly remodeled, the features and decor make the home feel classy and comfortable. This charming abode can accommodate up to 5 guests. There is a queen bed in one room and a twin over full bunk bed in the other.

Children of all ages are welcome! Please let us know if you require a pack-n-play crib and/or high chair.

In addition to the many amenities inside the Perfect Family Cottage, you will immediately appreciate several benefits. This home includes a parking spot. There is also a Whole Foods on the corner, where you can pick up delicious ingredients to bring back home to the Perfect Family Cottage. Or stroll to the nearby restaurants, shops and public transportation. The Balboa Park Bart stop is a 10 minute walk away and the 8X bus stop is a block away.

As you arrive at the Perfect Family Cottage, you’ll notice how quiet and private it is. Rather than being crammed right against your neighbors, this home is fully detached from other buildings. Right outside your front door, there is a lovely courtyard that separates it from the front house on the property. Whether starting your day with coffee and breakfast or ending your day with wine and supper, this sunny courtyard with its table and chairs entices you to eat alfresco.

Enter the front door and experience the communal spaces of the first floor including a living room, kitchen, dining nook and bathroom. The gorgeous kitchen is bright and contemporary with all new appliances. It is equipped with a gas stove and oven, full-sized refrigerator with freezer and ice maker, microwave, coffeemaker, dishwasher, toaster and blender. It contains just about every utensil, pot and pan that you'll need. Savor your home cooked meal in the dining area then adjourn to the living room. There you can play board games, watch the flat-screened TV or chat about the highlights of your day in San Francisco.

When it’s time for bed, make your way upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen bed and another flat-screen TV. The second bedroom features a bunk bed with one full-sized futon plus one twin mattress overhead, and a balcony overlooking the courtyard. Both bedrooms share access to a full bathroom with a shower. All bed and bath linens are provided. After enjoying a restful sleep, you’ll be ready for another day of adventures in the City By The Bay!

  • Perfect spot for the family.

  • My family of four stayed here for two nights. The cottage had plenty of room, was quite comfortable, and I was pleased it was detached from the rest of the property. In a city where space is at a premium, this place was a gem. The parking space made it convenient to park our rental car, and it was nice not have to worry about being towed on the street.

  • The house was clean and perfect for a two days stay with my family. Sara took care of everything and the location was close enough to downtown by car. I totally recommend it! Just a little expensive cleaning fee for a couple of days (150$)

  • I´ve been with 4 more friends in Sara´s apartment, the apartment was perfect, lovely, vey clean, enough big for 5 people and the bus is 2 min walking so it was perfect for us. Sara was very kind with us, the first day we couldn´t find the apartment and it was at night and Sara replied us in a short time so finally we could find the apartment, she was on touch all the time and we we needed something we just call her, we are pleased to Sara for all the time we were in her apartment.

  • The Cottage was a perfect home for our week in SF. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit is very clean and well appointed. It really is perfect for a couple or young family. The check-in could not have been easier and the coded security access is a big bonus. We really liked the layout of the cottage with the two bedrooms upstairs w/ ensuite bathroom. The kitchen is very nice with modern amenities for a complete range of cooking options (a new set of cooking pots and pans is due). The convenient washe and dryer was a huge plus. The proximity to Whole Foods was a big bonus for us (literally a 2 minute walk). If you are renting a car, the dedicated parking space for the unit is great to have. The freeway to downtown is just a few blocks away. If you are using public transportation, a multitude of convenient options are within easy walking distance from the unit. This place is great value and we would definitely book again in the future.

  • I stayed here with a few friends, and the keypad on the door instead of an actual set of keys was SUPER convenient. The place itself was clean, well-stocked, and in a perfect location for accessing the BART, grocery stores, and late-night bites to eat. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks!!

  • We stayed at The Perfect Family Cottage for several nights on our San Francisco stay.

The location was good--especially as it had parking--it was close but not in the heart of the city.

Accommodation was clean & well-fitted. We didn't have any problem cooking breakfasts in the villa, (though some of the pans could probably use an upgrade! Super amenities include: big fridge, dishwasher, tv/entertainment and washer & dryer. Beds were comfy, and bathroom was big enough to accommodate the entire family (2 +2)! And can I reiterate that it was super convenient to have access to a washer & dryer!

At first we were a bit nervous about the surrounding area, but since we didn't venture out without a car, we quickly got used to it. Whole Foods Market is AMAZING and we were there every day! Definitely a "value add" for this property!

We were happy with our stay and would probably stay again at The Perfect Family Cottage. Thank you!!

About
I love people... truly I adore meeting people, hearing about their lives, and making a difference for others. Being able to provide clean, lovely and stylish homes to guests is deeply fulfilling to me. It is an honor to have the opportunity to be hospitable. Even if most of my communication is with the individual reserving the home, I know that I am taking care of them so that they may take care of the other members in their group - whether that is three generations of a family or a group of friends or a team of coworkers. I live in San Francisco and offer a whole home to guests that I also own. In addition, I help some dear friends and family by providing guest services for homes that they own. I have always been passionate about providing wonderful customer service - even when I was a babysitter or worked in retail as a teenager. The home owners I help appreciate my passion and want people who stay in their homes to feel cared for and loved by me. All of my activities - such as responding swiftly to questions, fulfilling special requests, and providing neighborhood information to guests - are intended create a positive experience. For clarification, taking care of guests is at times a team effort. So you may read reviews that mention other people's names who are (or have been) part of my excellent team. Being able to provide a whole home - not just beds, but a kitchen and communal living space - especially inspires me. Recently, parents with their 5 young children stayed at one of my homes. I came by to drop off some extra items and got to watch the father play with the baby and see the other kids in their footie pjs piled up on the couch enjoying a cartoon before bed. I believe they made most of their meals in the kitchen, which was a significant savings for a family of their size. When they checked out, the parents told me how it simply would not have been possible for them to take a vacation like this at a hotel. It moved me to know that I gave these parents and children something so precious. My mother probably would have had a bed & breakfast, but instead ran a small business to support my dad's dreams. Even still, she had a comfortable lounge, complete kitchen, full time cook, and little touches like scented candles so that clients felt at home. She hosts a Thanksgiving dinner for 40+ so that friends, family, friends of family, family of friends, etc can experience belonging and being part of something special. I inherited her love for hospitality, combined with my father's outgoing nature. I've had the good fortune to travel internationally a bit. I'm learning and eventually will be able to speak French, Spanish, Italian and perhaps some other languages. I want to be able to communicate with people globally in their own language, whether they are visiting me or I'm visiting them. I also deeply enjoy exploring the city in which I live. Even after living in LA for 30+ years, I was always learning something new and discovering special qualities. There is so much happening in San Francisco, one can be a "tourist" in this city and never get bored. There isn't enough time in the day to attend all the events and try all the restaurants, etc. I appreciate when my guests tell me about their SF adventures.
