This pretty li'l resting spot is a private apartment beneath the rest of a four bedroom 100-yr old (1914), owner-occupied private residence. So, it's a ground level, street-access, private apartment with separate everything. Enjoy.
This pretty li'l resting spot is a private apartment beneath the rest of a four bedroom 100-yr old (1914), owner-occupied private residence. So, it's an apartment, a nice converted space for your private use within a dry basement, within a house!
Has some natural light, interesting open floor plan, simple kitchen with handsome features, fridge, granite bar, bathroom with shower, resting and office nook too! Queen bed.
Additionally there's a full size pull-out sofa bed that can sleep a couple more than the main 2 guests. Works well if you are close friends or family. (Alert me ahead of time if that's your intention and specifically if you'd like me to make it up as a bed for you before you arrive)
Salvaged wood floor from an old tap-dance studio shows the joyful markings of said art, lends a rustic warmth to the space (cozier than concrete!)
You may hear light footsteps occasionally from the shoe free house above, but is by and large a quiet home. Separate entrance.
Laundry room shared and adjacent to this flat.
See my other two listings for the other rooms above this'n.
Sorry that we can not welcome Pets at this time.
If you are staying multiple months and have a well trained service dog, we can discuss. Other than that I will have to love your pet from afar.
Please forgive, Woof.
Entire lower level, laundry room, Front Porch...:) If you're a brilliant Pianist, feel free to share a song or two with the upper house when inspired (ahem, before ten)...:)

Enjoy your awesome selves by being awesome!
Please Conserve natural resources.
Please Use range hood fan whilst cooking, as oddly all aromas pass through to the room above the kitchen. Vent fan while showering also helps the house last longer. Thanks!
Not a rule but I've written an extensive GUIDE in my other listing in this same house (up above), one entitled Authentic Portland Flavor, Central! which apparently is impossible to easily copy over to this one. Hence i beg you poke over there for local ideas and my Portland faves... or I shall leave hard copies in the room too.

Big Fan of people here, glad to meet and have at least brief interactions and cerebral interludes with the whole sh'bang and gamut of characters this planet provides. Travel feeds me well. Another way to get that vitamin supplement from life in the times between travelings is to be part of another's adventure in some small way. Hence, my own fondness for travel and the moments of feeling at home in the most remote stretches of the world is what brings me to AirBnB.
I have warm, inviting space to spare, as well as energy and ideas about this pretty city that I dug so much I had to buy a little plot in it for myself and to SHARE with YOU! Portland is beautiful. I hope to make your travel far more enjoyable with a relaxing home base to replenish in between forays into the wild fray!
My darling, trusty, sweetheart William is my able co-host (though not pictured, he's shy...) and a sweet addition to the casa's general goodness!
He is a fine horticulturalist and hobbyist filmmaker..
Also as of May 27, 2015 we have a newborn son who is an awesome component of the tapestry around here. Our resting space is separate from the rest of the house for the most part, but we do share common space daily as well.
I do a little work from the home a couple days a week, but it ought never interfere with your autonomous fun having whilst here. Let me know if I can help you with anything.
I'm an easy-moving, joyful, well-adjusted, silly critter, musician, painter, cook, writerly sort, interested in health and wholeness, Chinese herbal medicine (the eternal study continues!) and Acupuncture. I'm a traveler, an explorer, innate documentarian and story gatherer. I'm handy, oft DIY-style, prefer repurposing and re-using things and building materials in my projects.
I appreciate, to the point of deep reverence, the natural world's offerings and feel compelled to protect it with conscious consumption and recycling etc. I love clever design, architecture and texture in living/ working/ growing spaces as well. Fond of dirt, making food and flora in it.
Plenty to do in the loosely sketched canvas that a new piece of land provides. If it suits your fancy, feel free to join me gardening during your stay. It's always fun to putter about in the yard with folks!
See you soon, with any luck!
PS~ Incase you've wondered: I think I've got a good lead on what the meaning of life is.

Feels about right to me, so I figure we may as well move about the cabin in kindness, gathering recipes, hugs, soul food, stories and songs along the way!
