About This Listing
Very comfortable and attractive 2-room suite with private bathroom in Old Town San Luis Obispo.
This beautiful recently remodeled home is very close to downtown shopping, restaurants, movies, and Thursday night Farmers Market.
The bedroom has a queen size bed (very comfortable - read the reviews!) and there is an attached sitting room in this lovely home in historic downtown San Luis Obispo. Private bathroom with bathtub/shower.
Very clean and very comfortable in a quiet neighborhood of beautiful Victorian homes. On street parking is readily available.
The sitting room contains a fold out sofa (also very comfortable!) that sleeps 2.
The per night fee is for 1 or 2 people using the bed in the bedroom. An additional fee of $40 per person is added if the sofa bed is also needed.
There are additional outside sitting areas on front porch and in the secluded back yard.
Walking distance from train station. SLO has a vibrant downtown only a few blocks away with terrific coffee shops, restaurants, galleries, movie houses, the historic Mission, and shopping. The weekly Thursday night Farmers' Market on Higuera Street is just 4 short blocks away.
Non-smoking guests only. No pets.
My dog, Harlan, is a very friendly outside dog.
You are welcome to put items in the refrigerator and boil water if need be but general kitchen privileges are not included.
One of the reasons I so enjoy renting out my rooms is that I get to meet so many interesting individuals from all over. I try to be sensitive to each person's need for privacy but I am usually around and very willing to suggest restaurants and things to do.
The City of San Luis Obispo recently began collecting transient occupancy taxes on short term rentals. The 10% tax is included in the room rate that is posted. So the actual room fee is $118 per night with a 10% tax of $12 for a total of $130 per night.
Arriving guests will need to make arrangements to obtain the key. Usually early afternoon works best but I try to be flexible.
My mom and I stayed at Barbara's place on our recent California road trip. It was the perfect place for us.
The main bedroom was lovely. Normally, there is also a sizeable sitting room. Because Barbara pulled out the sofa bed for me, the sitting room became a second bedroom. It was great to have so much space. The bathroom is also ideal.
Everything was impeccably clean.
Barbara is incredibly nice. My mom and I enjoyed talking with her. She is an artist and has beautiful art all over; some of it is her own art. She also has a beautiful garden in the front of the house.
The house is very close to downtown. We easily found free street parking. Once we got there, we left our car and walked downtown.
We really enjoyed Scout, a cute coffee shop with great coffee. For a casual meal, we also really liked The Firestone Grill, basically a bar with great barbecue. The tri-tip sandwich was so good!
I would definitely recommend staying at Barbara's place!
Barbara was so welcoming, and made me feel completely comfortable from the moment that I arrived. Her guest space is incredibly charming, and is vibrant with color and lovely objects. I am so looking forward to my next visit -- it's a wonderful situation for visiting my son who is a student at Cal Poly.
Barbara and her lovely dog were very welcoming. She was very willing to provide suggestions of places to visit and eat at in SLO. She also was very respectful of the space I needed, as the trip was a getaway from life. The private suite was peaceful and provided a very cozy home away from home. I would definitely stay there again when I come back to SLO.
Fantastic place in a great location. Exceeded expectations! Beautiful suite with an incredibly comfortable bed (HUGE PLUS). Barbara has gorgeous art work all over and has taking great pains in making sure the suite is well appointed, convenient, and well stocked. Great location - walking distance to wonderful restaurants and bars.
Finally, Barbara is a wonderful person - would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Barbara was lovely and helpful. Directed us to the best little coffee shop close by and great food. Highly recommend staying with Barbara when in San Luis Obispo.
