About this listing
Very comfortable and attractive 2-room suite with private bathroom in Old Town San Luis Obispo.
This beautiful recently remodeled home is very close to downtown shopping, restaurants, movies, and Thursday night Farmers Market.
The bedroom has a queen size bed (very comfortable - read the reviews!) and there is an attached sitting room in this lovely home in historic downtown San Luis Obispo. Private bathroom with bathtub/shower.
Very clean and very comfortable in a quiet neighborhood of beautiful Victorian homes. On street parking is readily available.
The sitting room contains a sleeper sofa (also very comfortable!) that sleeps 2.
The per night fee is for 1 or 2 people using the bed in the bedroom. An additional fee is added if the sofa bed is also needed.
There are additional outside sitting areas on front porch and in the secluded back yard.
Walking distance from train station. SLO has a vibrant downtown only a few blocks away with terrific coffee shops, restaurants, galleries, movie houses, the historic Mission, and shopping. The weekly Thursday night Farmers' Market on Higuera Street is just 4 short blocks away.
Non-smoking guests only. No pets.
My dog, Harlan, is a very friendly outside dog.
You are welcome to put items in the refrigerator and boil water if need be but general kitchen privileges are not included.
One of the reasons I so enjoy renting out my rooms is that I get to meet so many interesting individuals from all over. I try to be sensitive to each person's need for privacy but I am usually around and very willing to suggest restaurants and things to do.
The City of San Luis Obispo recently began collecting transient occupancy taxes(TOT) at 10%and starting 7/1/15 a tourism tax (1%) on short term rentals. The total 11% tax is included in the room rate that is posted. So the actual room fees are as follows:
Basic nightly rate: $117
Tourism tax 1
Arriving guests will need to make arrangements to obtain the key. Usually after 3:00 works best but I try to be flexible.
Barbara is a wonderful host who is very accommodating! The room we were given was spacious, immaculate, and fit all our needs. When you first walk in to the property it is like walking in to a beautiful art gallery.
Barbara had a wonderful house and made me feel at home right away, both respecting my privacy as well as helping me out with tips and directions when I needed them. The bathroom was clean and modern, and the bed was comfortable. It was a quiet neighborhood which was nice after my 12 hour flight.
Scout Coffee, which is just around the corner, was awesome for breakfast (the chocolate croissant being my favourite) and the market on Thursday night was also worth a visit. There's also a good easy hike about 20 minutes walk away.
All in all, a really great stay in a super cozy town - definitely coming back!
We had a wonderful time in San Luis Obispo at Barbara's home while visiting Cal Poly, her home is just a few minutes walk from downtown SLO. The room matches exactly the description and Barbara had opened the sofa-bed for me to sleep, so basically we had 2 bedrooms all for ourselves.
Barbara introduced us to some of the nearby restaurants for dinner and we had breakfast at the local eatery in downtown.
Barbara's attention to detail and beautiful decor all around her place makes it a quaint gem among Airbn locations. We felt privileged to stay in her place.
Very nice place. Our bedrooms were lovely and very spacious. The house is located in SLO downtown near shops, coffees, restaurants... Barbara was very welcoming. I recommend this place!
Efficient location, walking distance to downtown. Great restaurant recommendation from our host Barbara.
My daughter and I spent 2 nights in Barbara's beautiful home. The location is wonderful. It is a short walk to the downtown area. The house is beautiful and our space was perfect for us. The bed was so comfortable too. We will stay there again in the future.
Barbara was very kind and helpful in making sure everything was ready for us. We got in later than we thought, but Barbara was flexible and we were still able to get in without any problem. Her home is in an excellent location and rooms were great. We had a very comfortable stay here in Barbara's beautiful home. Unfortunately with the late arrival and early leaving times we were unable to meet Barbara and tell her how much we enjoyed her place in person. We really enjoyed this home and town and would stay here again if we came back!
