About This Listing
Very comfortable and attractive 2-room suite with private bathroom in Old Town San Luis Obispo.
This beautiful recently remodeled home is very close to downtown shopping, restaurants, movies, and Thursday night Farmers Market.
The bedroom has a queen size bed (very comfortable - read the reviews!) and there is an attached sitting room in this lovely home in historic downtown San Luis Obispo. Private bathroom with bathtub/shower.
Very clean and very comfortable in a quiet neighborhood of beautiful Victorian homes. On street parking is readily available.
The sitting room contains a sleeper sofa (also very comfortable!) that sleeps 2.
The per night fee is for 1 or 2 people using the bed in the bedroom. An additional fee is added if the sofa bed is also needed.
There are additional outside sitting areas on front porch and in the secluded back yard.
Walking distance from train station. SLO has a vibrant downtown only a few blocks away with terrific coffee shops, restaurants, galleries, movie houses, the historic Mission, and shopping. The weekly Thursday night Farmers' Market on Higuera Street is just 4 short blocks away.
Non-smoking guests only. No pets.
My dog, Harlan, is a very friendly outside dog.
You are welcome to put items in the refrigerator and boil water if need be but general kitchen privileges are not included.
One of the reasons I so enjoy renting out my rooms is that I get to meet so many interesting individuals from all over. I try to be sensitive to each person's need for privacy but I am usually around and very willing to suggest restaurants and things to do.
The City of San Luis Obispo recently began collecting transient occupancy taxes(TOT) at 10%and starting 7/1/15 a tourism tax (1%) on short term rentals. The total 11% tax is included in the room rate that is posted. So the actual room fees are as follows:
Basic nightly rate: $117
Tourism tax 1
Arriving guests will need to make arrangements to obtain the key. Usually after 3:00 works best but I try to be flexible.
Great location with easy walking distance to downtown. We brought our twin children along (2.5 years old) and they had a blast.
Room is good size, bathroom is nice, sitting room with fold out queen size bed was perfect for the kids.
Highly recommended. We would stay here again.
Barbara was a great host and her home was lovely. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept soundly. It felt quite private as we had a bedroom, bathroom and sitting area all to ourself with easy access from the front hall.
I especially liked the design of the house and all the wonderful artwork. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, listening to the birds and sipping our coffee in the mornings.
The location was fantastic, no more than a 10 minute walk from anywhere you'd want to go, yet in a quiet and charming neighborhood. I would definitely recommend it.
Thank you Barbara fur a wonderful stay in San Luis Obispo!
Barabaras house ist really beautiful. Pretty inside, pretty outside. Everything was really clean. We had a bathroom for ourselves. The area is so wonderful. It was just a short walk to the shops and restaurants. San Luis Obispo is such a beautiful little city! We regret that we only planned one night there...
Barbara is a super nice person. Highly highly recommend.
Barbara was very nice and pleasure to stay with. Her home and the private suite were very clean and well appointed. The home is located in a great neighborhood and is only a 5 minute walk to downtown SLO. I would definitely stay here again!
Barbara's home is incredibly beautiful. The space she has created for a two bedroom (or one bedroom with a spacious sitting room) Airbnb is comfortable, well appointed and attractive. Barbara was communicative and welcoming. She recommended several places in walking distance to eat. You can not beat the location. I would definitely stay here again.
My mom and I stayed at Barbara's place on our recent California road trip. It was the perfect place for us.
The main bedroom was lovely. Normally, there is also a sizeable sitting room. Because Barbara pulled out the sofa bed for me, the sitting room became a second bedroom. It was great to have so much space. The bathroom is also ideal.
Everything was impeccably clean.
Barbara is incredibly nice. My mom and I enjoyed talking with her. She is an artist and has beautiful art all over; some of it is her own art. She also has a beautiful garden in the front of the house.
The house is very close to downtown. We easily found free street parking. Once we got there, we left our car and walked downtown.
We really enjoyed Scout, a cute coffee shop with great coffee. For a casual meal, we also really liked The Firestone Grill, basically a bar with great barbecue. The tri-tip sandwich was so good!
I would definitely recommend staying at Barbara's place!
About the Host, Barbara
I have lived in San Luis Obispo County for over 30 years and in this house for 7 years. Love it here! So close to everything. I am an artist and work out of my home. Also love to garden and cook.
I look forward to meeting you!
