Really big master suite in lovely wicker park 2-level condo. Surrounded by the best food and attractions in the city, 7 minutes walking to the blue line, 20 minutes by train/bus to anything in the city.
Walk Score 94! Huge private bedroom/bathroom suite in our very large Wicker Park condo. 14' high ceilings and queen sized bed, private bathroom, closet for storage. Wifi, Apple TV and the like provided. Located in the middle of Wicker Park's best attractions, bus/rail, and dining.
We're a late-20s working professional couple with two awesome babies and a great condo in Chicago's best hood. We're always game for hosting new and great people and would very much like to hear from you!
Wicker Park is hands down the best place in Chicago for foodies, plus we've got great access to the cities many culinary attractions. Our next door neighbor is an Italian cafe frequently referred to as having 'one of Chicago's best patios'. The lakefront/Lincoln Park/Gold Coast/Mag Mile is 10-20 minutes by bus depending on the time and day you are going. Our house is an 8 minute walk from two blue line stops to get you to/from O'hare and Downtown quickly. If going to Midway add a transfer to the Orange line for about 50 minutes total on the train.
Private bed and bath, kitchen and dining area (we love group meals!), baby gear (stroller, toys, changing table, port-a-crib), your own set of keys to come and go as you please, AppleTV, outdoor patios, Laundry, car rental (Zipcar), bike share (Divvy), transit/CTA and plenty of street parking
Interaction with Guests
Up to them, but we love hosting folks and often find time to share a meal and maybe a movie. Usually if we're doing events around town we'll invite guests or even just for coffee/drinks with friends. One lucky couple got to go sailing with us :O
They call Brooklyn the Wicker Park of the East :P - We love our hood, it's full of energy, great food, art, cafes bars and just minutes from downtown and the lakefront or any other great Chicago attraction (Wrigley field!)
There's a bus stop on the street in front of our house. We also have bike-share on our block (Divvy) and are about 7 mins walking to the Damen or Division CTA Blue Line stops which connect downtown and to the airports.
We don't have many 'rules' but I do provide a very detailed guide that explains getting to the house, entry, kitchen, cleanup, et cetera kinds of things you might like to know. Our only request is that you respect the quiet times for the babies and treat them as you would your own. Thanks!
Drew was a great host! Super helpful, friendly, and always answered any questions. I felt really welcomed the whole time. The room is exactly as pictured and fits an airbed if needed. Location was a plus too..took about 20 minutes to get to all the places on our list. Definitely reccommend!!
Drew and Shae's spacious modern apartment in Wicker Park could not have served better for my weeklong jaunt of work and playgoing. The apartment is big, clean, and comfortable with tall, sunny living room windows. Your own room has a real bed and full bath with enough walk in closet space to accommodate a whole family. The place is conveniently located in the heart of Wicker Park right at the Division Street bus stop and easily accessible to downtown and the near north side. The whole family was extremely welcoming, with a charming two year old and four year old who collectively generate enough energy to light up the Hancock Center. Ask Naomi to sing you the latest song she's learned and for heaven's sake, don't let the parents know the kids are really in charge!
The stay in Drew's home was great. Awesome loft room on the bottom floor of a beautiful loft style condo!
The room was well appointed and comfortable!I'm 6'4 and have a "bad" back, so having an extend length quality queen mattress in a room you are renting for a great price was much appreciated.
It snowed like crazy the day we were scheduled to leave, and Drew let stay well past check out time! Would absolutely come back and stay again!
Drew and Shea were amazing hosts. Not only was their house spacious, located next to a variety of great restaurants and bars, and cleanly maintained, but they themselves were extremely warm and welcoming. The couple live with two adorable children, ages 2 and 4, who are as well behaved a set as one could hope for.
My partner and I definitely would not have had as good a time in Chicago if it wasn't for Drew. Drew is an encyclopedia of local recommendations as far as food and activities go. Although we had an idea of things we wanted to do and see, Drew basically provided us with an itinerary from Day 1. We had absolutely no regrets taking his suggestions and would highly recommend asking him for his advice.
Their residence is located in the heart of Wicker Park, which if you are not familiar with the neighborhoods of Chicago, is one of the trendiest and happening places in the city. You will find yourself walking distance from a plethora of cafes, bars, and restaurants that you could be content visiting for months if you wanted. However, should the need to travel downtown arise, the CTA blue line is a mere 10 minute away which can take you to the heart of Chicago in just 15 minutes.
I was very fortunate in coming across this gem. Air BnB's are fast becoming a dime a dozen. Drew and Shea are an exceptional find; one that I will gladly recommend to any of my closest friends looking to travel in the area.
Drew welcomed us when we arrived at his apartment and immediately made us feel at home. The bedroom was large with a big walk-in closet and private bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. We had access to other parts of the apartment as well. The apartment location is great, with lots of cool restaurants, bars, and public transport in walking distance (bus and train). Street parking is also easy to find nearby. Drew and his family were very warm and welcoming, we had a great time getting to know him and his cute kids!
Drew and Shae's place was a fantastic experience and the best airbnb stay we've had. The apartment is in an amazing location on Division St which has lots of cool bars, restaurants and even good coffee (hard to find in the US!).
The room itself was super clean and has it's own private bathroom.
Drew and Shae were great hosts and have two lovely kids. Drew took us out for a drink on the first night and gave us some great recommendations. And thanks to Shae for the NOLA recommendations too!
We would definitely stay again and recommend this place too all!
Great neighborhood and great room & bathroom! I loved my stay in Drew´s house. Thank you Drew for the stay.
