We've been opening our home to travelers for years. We love meeting new people & we know how to accommodate!
Beautiful 3 Bedroom 2 Story Home in the center of Williamsburg.
The best of Brooklyn's historic architecture combined with midcentury design nestled in an ideal location, 2 blocks from the Williamsburg Bridge to Manhattan's Lower East Side and a short walk to the Bedford L or JMZ trains. The home was restored & renovated by the same folks who built & designed South Williamsburg's famous Marlow & Sons and Diner restaurants just 3 blocks away. The space features wide plank wood floors, claw foot tub, pedestal sinks, wide open living room & full kitchen, exposed brick, classic details, Manhattan views, wifi, TV, working brick fireplace & street parking.
Your host is me, Chris Bouza, long time Williamsburg resident and owner & operator of a nearby restaurant/cocktail bar/and cafe. At my restaurant, my goal is to provide customers with the best in warm hospitality and high quality service. The same extends to my guests at home. This means you can expect the cleanliness & amenities of a star hotel with the warmth and comfort of home. Plus we've got our finger on the pulse with particular connections in the bar/restaurant/cafe /art/music scene. We'll be able to guide you to the best food, cocktails, espresso, live music(rock, jazz, world, hiphop& more), art galleries, gardens, boutique shopping, farmers & flea markets, thrift store shopping, dancing, DJs, lgbt scene, local graffiti, & special events.
We provide organic fair trade locally roasted french press coffee daily and breakfast items to choose from like homemade granola, fresh fruit, oatmeal, pastries, organic eggs, etc.
THE ROOM itself is peaceful, cozy, & private with a locking door, & quiet with a large southfacing window getting lots of light, a comfortable single bed ideal for one person. We can some times accommodate 2 guests in this room with a second mattress but send a message to check first if that is available for your dates. We have a second room called "HISTORIC HOUSE IN WILLIAMSBURG" that is larger w/ a Queen bed for Two Guests. There is a full closet to store your belongings, gorgeous exposed brick wall, TV, classic vhs collection, brooklyn & NYC books & mags, and Brooklyn artwork. Fresh Towels & Linens are included.
Just a bit more about the location. We are half a block from Bedford Ave, Williamsburg's main street. We're within blocks from some of Bklyn's best restaurants, cocktail bars, & specialty coffee shops including Dressler, Dumont, Dram, Pie's & Thighs, La Esquina, Blue Bottle, Marlow & Sons, Marlow & Daughters, Peter Luger, Death by Audio, Glasslands or a short walk to Hotel Delmano, The Wythe Hotel, Radegast Beer Garden, East River Park, McCarren Park, Independent Book stores, Art Galleries & Shopping Boutiques galore, & so much more.
We love using airbnb and sharing our home with guests. We love the sense of community it brings. We rent two bedrooms in the house, so if you're staying in one, it is possible that there will be a guest in the other. We take the utmost care in screening all potential guests so that they have reviews, completed profiles, and multiple secure verifications. So you can feel safe and comfortable and so can we. We have had over 100 different folks stay with us and all have been cool, delightful people from all over the world!
We have two full bathrooms for all to share, a big living room, and big open kitchen. We love when guests make themselves at home and make use of the common spaces, but also ask they they be considerate of them as well and conscious of anyone else in the house.
I am not a fan of having lots of specific "rules" other than we ask guests to remember this is our home and be considerate & respectful of the space & use common sense. Just a couple things: please avoid eating in the bedroom and please dry yourself off in the tub before stepping out to avoid getting water on the floor.
From midnight to 8am, we're mutually respectful of anyone getting their rest after an exhausting work day or exploring NYC. But you're welcome to do your thing and come and go as you please at any hour.
That's about it. We look forward to meeting you!
Great space in a great location! Chris and the other guests were friendly and made it feel like a real home. The WiFi was pretty spotty but that was the only minor blemish on an otherwise great stay.
Chris' home is very nice and in a very cool and convenient part of town. The room I stayed in was fine and suited me and my needs perfectly. The rest of the house was great, with a nice bathroom and funky living space. I didn't see Chris much (we were ships that passed in the night you might say), but when I did see her she was very helpful and polite.
Chris was very welcoming and easy going. We had little interaction, but I'm sure that if I would have had the need for more she would have been there.
The place is very stylish and the neighborhood is good fun with nice restaurants shops and two great espresso bars. Subway is well within reach and brings you right to Manhattan.
Chris was a really lovely host and the apartment was perfect - clean and tidy - exactly as the photo's show! The location is great too - it's a quick walk to the L train - the area has a ton of lovely restaurants and coffee spots - Black Brick is right around the corner en route to the L and serves an amazing cup. I would highly recommend staying here! Thanks for having me!!
Chris was a wonderful host, warm and easy to get along with. Everything that I needed was provided, checking in and out was simple and Chris is a great source for experiencing Williamsburg. I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip! Fun neighborhood.
Warm, safe, cozy, yummy, kind - just a few adjectives I'd use to describe my stay at Chris' place and experience exploring the blossoming side of Brooklyn. Make sure to stop by her Cuban restaurant. As the Governator would say - I'll be back!
This truly is a rare and historic gem in vibey Williamsburg. Upon arrival Chirs was waiting to see me in. She is wonderful and very well informed about any hotspot in the neighborhood: from yoga schools to good food. She also has a restuarant in the neighborhood, which I am yet to got to. The apartment is very clean, the linen fresh and the rooms get the late afternoon sun that warmed the apartment nicely. The surroundings are quiet, so I could always get a good nights rest. The complimentry items in the kitchen and overall finshing touches Chris adds to the mix makes the experience of living in her apartment welcoming and comfortable, she really goes the extra mile to make sure her guests feel comfortable. More practically, there are two subway stations very close by to get into Manhatthan in minutes, and anything one might need is with in a few block radius. I would highly recommend staying at Chris' apartment!
