Chris was lovely and the location was exactly what I was hoping for. It wasn't that clear that you're renting a room rather than the apartment. There were four other people staying there. However they were all lovely. Williamsburg is also a really great area. Overall A highly recommended place to stay.
Chris was a wonderful host. Cool place in a great neighborhood. Walking distance to everything. Exactly what I expected. The apartment has amazing light towards the late afternoon. Use it!!!
Kirsten and Chris really have something special to share with their lovely pad! They were generous to host me last minute, only for one night, and Kirsten even ran through the snow to get me in :) This is the most "at home" I've felt since being in New York and the character and charm of their apartment goes a long way! Stay with these lovely ladies if you get a chance. Location is great, apartment is huge, hosts have it goin on!
Chris and Kirsten were excellent hosts, everything was as described and their place provided a great base to explore Brooklyn. The room, like the rest of the house, was nicely decorated, clean and warm. I felt very welcome - the atmosphere was easygoing but respectful and I had an excellent trip. I would definitely recommend this for your next trip - the location is excellent, it's still within very easy reach of Manhattan and there is so much going on in the immediate neighborhood that you don't even have to venture very far if you don't want to. Also, Chris makes a mean granola!
the place is lovely, exactly what the picture shows. Chris were very nice, helped me with luggage etc. love their little note for the breakfast, felt very welcomed. The room is cozy, has everything you need. Overall, everything was very nice, would highly recommend to anyone who wants a Williamsburg living experience!
I had a really wonderful stay at Chris' place in Williamsburg. She was super knowledgeable about the area and provided amazing recommendations. You couldn't beat the house's location and I loved the decor/space! I would definitely stay here again. xx
Me and my friend had a great stay at Chris place. Chris was a very helpful and nice host. The house is cozy, clean and located in the middle of Williamsburg. Recommended!
Super location, right in the heart of williamsburg. Super friendlyand knowledegable host. Super apartment. All good :)
Chris, was a wonderful host, her apartment is great, the rooms are super beautiful with a lot attention to detail. I felt at home and really enjoyed the stay. I would totaly reccomend this place and Chris.
Chris was approachable and helpful when I had questions. She was flexible with check in/out times. Her document that explained the house and the neighborhood was a thorough and clear reference. She has great taste in decor and literature and music, from what I observed.
I wasn't expecting 2 other guests to be staying in the room next to me but I think that might be because I didn't read the ad closely enough. The experience reminded me of staying in a hostel a little bit, more impersonal than other places I'd stayed. But that didn't bother me at all, as I wasn't there to commune.
I rented the small, single room...the door was really sticky so you really had to tug on it hard to get out of the room. The bed mattress was extremely soft. The house was very clean in all areas except the upstairs bathroom that all 5 of us shared. There was hair and grime in various parts of the bathroom and the surfaces needed a serious cleaning.
The house is about a 15-20 minute walk from the train if you have luggage. The neighborhood felt safe at all times.
I think Chris has a strong intuitive awareness of others. I got the feeling she would chat you up if you were feeling friendly or leave you alone if she sensed you wanted space.
If you are really sensitive to noise, it might be an issue because the stairs close to the bedroom have a very loud creak. Otherwise, typical NY street noise.
Craft style coffee and organic granola were a nice touch.
