Ten minutes to the Russian River or wine tasting and 20 minutes from the coast.
We are in the heart of the lower Russian River. Close to everything.
Michael and Erin were very nice and warm and extremely helpful when it came to directions to their house. The house is adorable and was very clean. Erin offered places to go have dinner and things to do while we were there. It's the perfect place if you're a couple or a family of three but not for people who want a place to themselves. The house is a in-law unit which I wish had been said in the description of the house. They were very nice and understanding when I had made a reservation for four people and then a fifth person showed up. Other than that, the place is great! I would definitely recommend staying with Michael and Erin.
This was a last minute booking for one night and it was great. The hosts were very accommodating and communicative. The place was incredibly clean, they even left bubble bath toys for our toddlers, a bowl of fresh fruit when we arrived and greeted us warmly. It was only a few minutes away from downtown and ideal for our daily jaunts to Johnsons beach. The place is quiet and dark and is in close proximity to other houses however it still felt private especially in the night with the stars shining so bright. The landscaping is so nice too, all the houses are surrounded by beautiful plants. Thanks Michael & Erin!
Erin was very gracious and generous with information. The apartment is clean, has all you need and is very comfortable. Erin even provided special baby toiletries and bath toys. Its super toddler friendly and close to downtown. A great place to stay near the Russian River.
Well, I could be lazy and just say: read all of the other great reviews, but I will add my two cents. The apartment was exactly what we wanted - to be in the redwoods, close to town, restaurants, redwood grove, coast. Centrally located for the area.
The cottage was nicer and larger than the pictures show. In the midst of the redwoods, we didn't want fancy, but we wanted clean and comfy and that's what we got. Not to say that there aren't lovely little touches here and there, it's just not a big fancy suburban home. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. Michael greeted us and showed us around, opened windows and showed us where everything was. Both he and Erin were super friendly and helpful. Not having TV was wonderful; it would have been an intrusion into the peace and quiet. I was thankful for the wireless connection, but didn't really want to spend time online. It was just so great to be there.
Fruit, coffee, tea, 1/2 and 1/2 and bottled water awaited us. We didn't have time to cook, but everything was there that we would need. The bathroom had some handy things like floss and sunscreen if you forgot yours.
The town of Guerneville is charming and feels like a rural SF which makes it just about perfect. Thanks so much to Erin and Michael - we hope to see you again.
My gal pals and I had an absolutely perfect stay in the Russian River Charmer! We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Michael but his wife Erin was extremely personable. The unit was pristine and they even included a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling cider for this pregnant mama since I was there for my birthday! Now, some may not appreciate the simplistic nature of The Charmer, but the amenities were just enough and it was good to "disconnect" for a few days. A wonderful experience--I look forward to bringing the rest of my family there for a quiet weekend retreat.
What a lovely place! It is quite, secluded, very pretty. Erin and Michael are great hosts. They provided detailed travel directions which are very helpful. Would stay here again in a flash.
Very clean apartment and friendly welcome by Erin! Comfortable bed with electric blankets, fresh fruit and Erin recommended the best restaurant in town, "Boon"!
