About This Listing
Situated in a strategic position halfway between Florence and Siena the castle of S.Andrea a Cellole is within easy access of all the most important tourist sites, yet immersed in the quiet of the countryside where the birds sing and in the hot summer evenings the fireflies glow. Far from major roads and motorways the only sound you will hear is the odd tractor ploughing the vines.
What better way to spend a relaxing holiday in our mature garden , taking a dip in the large (12X6 m) pool and sunbathing on wooden sun loungers with mattresses, lunching under the shady pergolas or just sipping a glass of wine, or perhaps reading a book under a shady tree.
With both Florence and Siena little over half an hour away by car what could be easier than sightseeing the wonderful art treasures that Tuscany has to offer, returning in the latter part of the day to enjoy a quick dip before dinner in the garden or a foray out to one of the many typical restaurants in the area…..some of which still very good value.

We've just got home to London after a wonderful stay in Adela's cottage in Tuscany. We couldn't have asked for a more idilic location to spend a fantastic few days. Adela gave us such a warm welcome, and made us feel very much at home - with lots of tips & helpful advice on the local area. The cottage itself is gorgeous, and had everything we needed & more for a perfectly comfortable stay. I would highly recommend a visit to the cottage for anyone looking for a restful stay, in a wonderful location!
A fabulous location and a very welcoming and thoughtful host.
The estate is located perfectly between three top Tuscan attractions: Florence, Siena and San Gimignano. It is also extremely tranquil and relaxing as, although there are three cottages and a shared pool, the host does not accept small children. A shame for families with them, of course, but a real plus for those of us searching for peace and quiet.
There is no traffic noise at all and on a clear night the lack of light pollution guarantees wonderful starry skies.
Adela and Mauros property is a real gem! It's even better than in the pictures, relaxing, absolutely calm and in the most beautiful environment (hills, olive trees, wineyards- really tuscan!)
The apartment was clean and offered everything we needed (wifi, washing machine, kitchen etc.)
Adela is a wonderful host and provided us with a lot of tips for dinner, day trips etc. There's plenty to do in the surroundings of the house, we did some wine tasting (Chianti region), Siena sightseeing, loads of great dinners, small cute village visits etc etc.
Thanks for a great week in Tuscany!!
Wow what a find, Adela was very helpful, the apartment was well equipped, everything we needed & more. Stunning views, lovely pool. We spent a very relaxing 9 days there. Directions Adela sent were very good. Everything within easy reach.
We spent an amazing 5 days in Adela's cottage for our honeymoon. The location in the Tuscan hills is absolutely stunning and very well located for lots of great trips out to towns nearby. The cottage itself was lovely and clean, and the swimming pool and gardens were perfect for relaxing after a hectic few weeks of wedding planning. Adela was so welcoming and helpful with lots of recommendations for things to do nearby. My top tip for the area would be a visit to the Antinori vineyard - a stunning piece of modern architecture with some great wine and a lovely restaurant for a spot of lunch, and only 15 minutes from the cottage! My only suggestion would be that when renting a car you consider something more substantial than a Fiat 500 - our little car struggled a bit with the gravel track leading to the cottage. Thank you Adela for making our visit to Tuscany such a memorable one, we definitely hope to come back some time in the future! x
We had a great two weeks here. The place is beautiful, nestled on a hilltop at the end of an unpaved (but well maintained) dirt road. Really peaceful, stunning views, wonderful garden and pool area all beautifully maintained. The house was beautifully furnished and had EVERYTHING you needed including a well appointed kitchen. (We like to cook). Adele and her husband are great hosts. Florence & Sienna are nearby as well as tons of delightful little Tuscan villages. Top tip - read the folder Adele provides. Her recommendations of nearby villages away from the tourist crowds are gold!
We spent one week at Adela's house and liked it very much. The surrounding, house and garden were much more beautiful than expected. Adela and her husband welcomed us very warmly and made a lot of very good recommendations concerning typical restaurants and interesting places to visit. The apartment was very well-furnished and well-equipped...Adela even provided a bottle of her homemade olive oil, which was by the way very tasty. We can highly recommend this beautiful place for a typical stay in Tuscany.

About the Host, Adela
My lust for travel found me a job as a travel rep. working for various companies in France, Switzerland and Italy. Tired of travelling and constantly living out of a suitcase I decided to settle in Italy for its good food, wine and above all the weather and when I met my Italian husband and we had the possibility we decided to make Tuscany our home. Later when our son started school I wanted to work again so what better than to set up a rentals business and share our home with others and impart my extensive knowledge of Tuscany with our guests. We enjoy having guests on the property and many have now become good friends and return frequently, its a part of our lives and often we all go out to dinner together or even to events and concerts to make their visit (and yours) special. Welcome.
Spectacular wine cellars , museum and story of the Antinori family all housed in an ultra modern underground building. Wine tasting and restaurant , must be booked
Excellent typical tuscan food at reasonable prices. Friendly and efficient service they couldn't be nicer or more helpful . We use it as our 'local'...
A genuine 'borgo' pleasant to visit and largely missed by the crowds

Excellent cookery classes by Giuseppina who runs them herself with the help of her sons.
Wonderful medieval village mostly missed by the tourists, quiet and a delight to walk around
Wonderful typical Tuscan food and great value for money, very busy terrace in the summer serving food all day long
Another wonderful medieval fortified village starting to get a bit touristy but still worth a vist on the way to or from Siena
Step back in time by visitng this 10C abbey and also take part in one of the wine tours in the cellars below.
This is the genuine Tuscany not the stuff set up for the tourists
