Our stay in this room (2905B) was perfect in every sense. It was only 8 min walk to the convention center, which was the reason I was in Honolulu, and the location is very nice. The views are fantastic, the apartment is clean and cozy and with all the amenities, the kitchen had all the musts and worked well. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting.
Roger was pleasant and very easy to work with. The apartment I rented was everything I could have asked for at the time: reasonably priced and conveniently located, and it had a fantastic view down the Ala Wai canal toward Diamond Head! Thanks, Roger!
The whole process was so easy and everything went just fine,to check in and out was so easy.
I would rent at Roger's again.
His place is a much better alternative than staying in a hotel for example.
Here you have everything you need like kitchen,TV and internet.
It is actually a duplex, and the neighbor room is bigger.
When I booked I didn't se the other room so if you want a bigger room you can book the other room, but the smaller room is also perfectly ok.
Different rates for those two room, that I don't remember.
Thank you Roger.
Would recommend this place. Room was almost perfectly clean. Only thing that bothered me: 2 days before our departure the kitchen sink wouldn't drain any more so we had to wash our dishes in the bathroom. Reported this to Roger and got no response, except him asking in which appartment we were (he rents out different appartments in the same building.) Other than that we were happy with everything.
This unit was as advertised. It was clean when I arrived, and comfortable throughout my stay. The place is not big, but it is convenient and the view is beautiful! The kitchen part was useful to have quick meals when I didn't want to go to the restaurant (saves money). I had a small problem the first night when the neighbor kept coming in and out of his/her room, and started making a lot of noise at 1am, but this happened only once. The AC could be considered a bit loud, but I found that, when put on 'fan only' during the night, it provides a background noise that is not disturbing, and cancels other noises while still keeping the room cool. The location was perfect for me, not too far from the beach and the convention center. Overall, I really liked my stay in this suite.
Unit was just as pictured and had everything a person would need. The view from the 31st floor was fantastic. The bar downstairs was fun and reasonable. However, Roger told me the people who own this unit will no longer be renting it. The one pictured here is not the one I stayed in.
The building is called the Hawaiian Monarch and he told me he has a few listings in the same building. He has so many he takes care of you need to tell him actually which unit you are in and where. Only complain and that is nothing really is the fact you can't adjust the water temperature in the shower as it constantly changes.
The location is within walking distance of most places and a cheap breakfast can be had the Cheese Burger right across the street. The drug store has a cheaper laundry if you can be bothered.
The pool on the 6th floor is a nice size and there is a small hot tub.
I would definitely stay there again.
This is an above average place (Niu street) but that is right for the price.
location relatively close to things (especially when taking bus).
a few things need to be addressed to make this place a "4":
* loud air conditioning
* temperature in the shower fluctuates between too hot and too cold (making it interesting to shower with sun burns)
As far as the host Roger: he provided the minimum compared to other AirBnB hosts. He seemed quite busy managing properties so he didn't seem to remember who we were or how long we were staying. That said check in was easy as he was at the place on time.
We didn't get much guidance before arriving or for our stay: other places we stayed at provided transportation information including pricing, things to do in the area to make our stay as simple as possible as well as instructions for taking advantage of the place (how to take out trash, swimming pool information, etc).
I would still recommend this place if you are willing to do the walking or take the bus.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
