You will truly enjoy the uniqueness of our hand built cottage as well as our clear star studded sky. Our solar ranch is very peaceful and has been featured in Faerie Magazine, Tiny House, Mother Earth News, Drevo & Stavby (a chec Republic Architectural Magizine) and included in several Cordwood books and dvd's by Rob Roy, Richard Flatau and others.
We are open year round.
Please note that no smoking is allowed indoors, but smoking of all types is allowed outside ;-)❤️🧜🏽♀️
The space
Hello Dear Travelers, the "Mermaid Cottage" is a sweet, hand built Cord-wood and bottle structure (You'll feel like you're in a beautiful kaleidoscope) of Amazing Art. Surrounded by majestic views, it is on the forefront of our paradise known as "Angel Rock Ranch." Our 35 acre solar ranch has gorgeous views of the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We are about 1 hour from Wolf Creek Ski Area and are adjacent to the national forest, where nature abounds! We have a nice family of friendly cats and dogs here on the ranch, not to worry although they will greet you they don't go in the Cottage. You will have your full privacy to enjoy what could be your base camp home for exploring the San Luis Valley and all its beauty and wonder! We are right on the Divide trail so this is a perfect oasis for anyone riding the Continental Divide! Right out your front door you can hike, bike, cross country ski, snowshoe, bird watch, rock climb and stargaze, just to mention a few. You are minutes to an hour away from the Rio Grande River, wilderness, Sand Dunes National Park, hot springs, Hooper Pool (Spring Fed) railroads, Creede theater, cafes (Windsor, Mystic Biscuit, Colorado Grill and taphouse, Up Top café, Three Barrel Brewery, Chavallos and Raisin Rye Bakery), shopping (In town and Creede have the Best) and so much more!
In the Cottage you will find a small refrigerator, two burner stove on a granite counter top, t.v. with d.v.d.s only, and french press coffee and teas. Although small it includes all the comforts of home! The Mermaid Cottage is now OPEN YEAR ROUND. We are always happy to answer all your questions and to tell you all the wonderful places to see, so please just ask! We provide the makings of a breakfast of oatmeal and fixings, as well as fresh eggs from our chickens when available. We only use natural cleaning and laundry products as well, for your safety and our planet's :-)
PET OWNERS PLEASE NOTE:
We Welcome your well behaved pets but there will be a $15.00 fee per pet, per night. We greatly appreciate you letting us know if pets will be accompanying you in advance. Please leave your pet fee with us or on your kitchen table before departing. This money not only goes towards the extra cleaning but it goes towards the care of our rescued animal family :-) Thank you for your Love and support!

The gate and Cottage are always left open, so no key will be needed :-)
You may check-in any time after 2:00 and check out any time before 11:00
