The Space

Beautiful apartment at the heart of la Condesa, walking distance from all the restaurants and bars of the area, without the hassle of the noise, cars and people. It is located in a quiet street, with two large bedrooms, one king size bed, one queen size bed and a pull-out sofa, 2 bathrooms, one of them with jacuzzi, a recently refurbished wooden kitchen and a nice balcony with view to the quiet street of Cholula.

Located 2 blocks away from the subway station Patriotismo and one block from the Metrobus stop Escandon. All services include internet connection, cable TV, phone line, and one parking place. It also has a washer and dryer.

La Condesa is known for having a lot of restaurants and bars. It is the hottest spot in Mexico City. The good part of it is you are a few blocks from them and you don't get the hassle of the noise and the streets full of people.

The neighborhood is totally safe for walking even late at night. Just around the corner there is a good argentinian restaurant called el Diez, good quality and good prices. If you would like recommendations on bars or restaurants, let me know. I'll be glad to help!

  • Tania's place was overall wonderful. The neighborhood (Condesa) was excellent - safe, fun, easy to get around, lots of stuff to do. Tania was extremely helpful, responsive, and easy going. Overall great experience! The apartment itself was clean, and the kitchen was outfitted with what we needed. Laundry machine worked well.
    Thanks Tania!

  • We stayed here for a month. It was overall enjoyable. The location is very nice and the apartment is pleasant Tania and Carolos (the portero) were nice to work with. We had a few maintenance problems, but we managed to get things worked out.

    Good things about the place.
    1. Neighborhood, very safe, walkable to three good parks (Espana and Morelos have playgrounds) about 15-20 minutes to groceries, 10 min or so to metro--near a very busy street (Baja California) but the apartment is still fairly quiet and it is very quiet in the evening/overnight.
    2. Good things about the apartment: Building is pretty quiet during the day and very quiet after about 9PM. Beds (king in main bedroom, queen in 2nd) are very comfortable-pretty new mattresses. You have your own washer and dryer (a big bonus in Mexico) in a locked room on the roof. Tania even provided detergent. Kitchen is small, but pretty well stocked with pots and pans, etc for basic cooking.

Things to plan around: 3rd "bed" noted in ad is the orange couch hideabed which shows up in pictures near the TV. It's in a hallway area between the bedrooms and the dining area. There is not room to open it there. If you really need the 3rd bed, you'll have to do a lot of rearranging. An adult can stretch out on the couch by the window- a small child can sleep on the hideabed folded up. Water pressure is low. If you plan on using the jacuzzi, it will take a while to fill. (took about an hour to get enough water in the tub to bath our kids) It will also take longer than usual to wash clothes for the same reason. The apartment is on the Mexican 3rd/US 4th floor. There is no elevator. Every suitcase and bag of groceries will have to go up this. It's doable, but if you have mobility problems, this may not be the place for you. Coordinate/clarify with Tania before your visit when the housecleaner will come and who is responsible for payment.

  • Tania's apartment in the Condesa was amazing! It's in a quiet tree lined street around the corner from anything/everything la Condesa has to offer. My friends and I stayed there for 5 nights and couldn't have been more content with the apartment. It's well stocked and clean. We felt at home. It is right around the corner from the Metro which connects you with all of Mexico City.

Carlos was also great and very helpful since the second I got there. HIghly recommended place to stay if you are in Mexico City!!

  • I stayed and worked in Tania's apartment in Condesa for four weeks. The neighborhood is great -- safe to walk around, even at night, and lots of restaurants and shops all within walking distance. The apartment itself is wonderful -- bright and sunny, quiet, and has a kitchen stocked with dishes, pots and pans, blender, tupperware, etc. The internet access was consistent, and the cable TV has NFL and ESPN, if you're into American football games (I am!). Carlos is great - he doesn't speak any English, but he's very friendly and trustworthy and can help you with whatever you need.

There are at least six different delicious taqueries within a 10 minute walk -- I've tried about all of them! El Farolito is my favorite for tacos de pastor, but I love the fresh guacamole and the tres leches cakes from El Califa. There is a Superama just a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment on Michoacan. The Metro station is just around the corner, literally, and it's only 3 pesos each way. Very safe and clean.

    Enjoy your stay!

  • I never met Tania during my stay, but she was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to my questions. Checking in with the doorman, Carlos, was smooth.

The apartment was charming, comfortable, and in an amazing location. Tons of great bars and restaurants nearby and easy access to public transportation. Fast wi-fi and a fresh water cooler were a nice luxury. The apartment/neighborhood was everything I could have asked for and a great introduction to Mexico City.

    Highly recommended!!
