Our little place consists of a charming one room log camp-cabin with a double bed, kitchenette, dining and sitting area, and bathroom. The spot has sweeping mountain views, and is aromatic with sage and piñon. We are in a small village located 4.5 miles south of the Town of Taos, and we are open from March 1 to November 30.

The space

Our quaint little cabin is a stone's throw from our own home in the old farming community of Llano Quemado, (a 10 minute drive from Taos Plaza). The one room building has a full bed, a living and dining area, kitchenette with gas stove, a (freezer-less) refrigerator and full bathroom with stall shower (no tub). The structure was originally a summer camp cabin that was moved here from Ute Valley Park, Colorado twenty-five years ago. Sunrises and sunsets are daily marvels, and at night the stars shine bright. The hot springs are a short drive and short hike up the road. The springs is a peaceful, quiet, remarkably private outdoor place (and it is a sacred place so remember to be respectful).

Guest access

Guests have full access to the cabin and its grounds. You can explore the immediate area beginning as soon as you step out the door. Take a walk (or a jog, or bike ride) on any of the quiet country roads that surround the property--the scenic views are amazing from in all directions.

Interaction with guests

We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. Feel free to ask us about restaurants, outdoor activities, history, galleries, and the hidden treasures of Taos (please inquire about guided tours).

Other things to note

Dogs (and cats) are allowed, but please note that our property is open and unfenced, so your pet must be supervised when outdoors to prevent any issues with wild animals as well as roaming neighborhood dogs.

Taos County has a recycling center for glass, aluminum and tin cans, plastic (marked "1" and "2"), corrugated cardboard, and newspapers and magazines. You'll find a small basket in the kitchen area to put your recyclables in if you wish.

If you stay with us please use the directions provided; do not attempt to find us via mapquest or a smartphone.

I would highly recommend a stay at this adorable cabin- we were totally charmed by the cabin itself, and the beautiful surroundings. Robert and Holly left helpful instructions / suggestions for things to do in Taos, and were the most gracious hosts. They were super understanding when we had to do a late check in due to car trouble, and even gave me a candle from their shop for my birthday! They really thought of every detail in making their little cabin a lovely place to stay while visiting Taos, which is just a few minutes away. The hot springs were also awesome!! We hope to be back sooner than later :)

We had a great stay in this cozy, clean cabin. It was a great romantic getaway. Being close to the road didn't bother us, as it was a seldom traveled dirt road. Did hear a neighboring dog bark the first night but quiet the second (and someone was thoughtful enough to leave ear plugs.) Beautiful views of the valley and distant mountains. Cozy and warm and couldn't have been cleaner. Holly and Robert were also welcoming and available to answer questions.
