The apartment is a good sized studio with a separate kitchen and one bathroom. Lots of light in the apartment and two elevators in the building. Right now there is a futon bed with a thick and comfortable mattress. I prefer a very minimal aesthetic so there is no clutter in the space and very open feeling. There's also a walk-in closet with space to hang your clothes and an empty dresser as well.
Everything you need right outside... The building is directly across the street from beautiful Prospect Park in a very nice neighborhood, steps away from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Brooklyn Public Library. There are numerous delis, cafes, and restaurants in the neighborhood, some of which are open 24 / 7. Express subway station (Q and B trains) is located directly behind the building for easy access to all of NYC. Enjoy what New York has to offer!

Interaction with Guests
I usually meet guests to give them the keys and I'm available by phone or email if anything is needed.
Don't rock and roll the place to death. And no cigarette smoking allowed.
Please observe the posted check-in / check-out times:
3 PM check-in
12 PM (noon) check-out
I will be accommodating as possible regarding the times as long as other guests aren't booked in the space.
Matt was super communicative and Checking-in and out couldn't have been easier. The location is outstanding, close to the metro and grocery store and tons of restaurants and coffee shops. I would definitely stay here again, can't beat the deal.
The apartment is in a great location - just a couple of mins away from Prospect Park subway and the park itself. There a number of great shops and bars within walking distance or a short train journey away. The train to Manhattan only takes 15-20 mins too, so it really is an ideal location. The flat itself was fine for us - we spent most of our time out and about anyway. The one downside was the noise - the station is right outside the window - so if you're a particularly light sleeper it may not be idea. Our host Matt was a great guy - really accommodating (he was kind enough to stay up late to let us in) and helpful (the Wifi was down, but he got it fixed immediately and on New Years Day!). All in all, good value for money in a great location, perfect for exploring New York.
I had quite a long stay in Matt's apartment and it was perfect for my trip. There was an issue with the heating and Matt wasted no time to help me get it fixed. Very accommodating!
Great neighbourhood and less than 1 minute walk to subway. Just perfect. Thanks Matt!!
Matt was an extremely gracious and accommodating host. He was very flexible about arrival and departure times, and made sure to make it convenient for me. Because I was new to NYC and didn't have the hang of the subway system yet, I was an hour late to meet him on my arrival, and he didn't even bat an eye. He also gave me the option to check out later.
And while my strict diet didn't allow me to take advantage, Matt generously offered the various foodstuffs and beer that were in the apartment.
I didn't realize that the apartment was so close to the Prospect Park subway station: this had its advantages and disadvantages. It was certainly convenient to be so close on cold nights when returning from Manhattan, but the sound from the subway was quite noticeable. It didn't end up bothering me too much, but it was a nice touch that Matt provided earplugs by the bed!
The temperature of the apartment was pleasant throughout my stay, and I was very happy to have instant hot water (and I mean really hot!) in the sinks and shower.
The wifi was fast and reliable, which made it easy for me to get work done.
As I do a lot of cooking for myself, I do wish that there had been better/more kitchen equipment, but I made do with what was available.
The bulk of my activities during my stay were in Manhattan, and it so happened that they were not near the lines that go to Prospect Park (B, Q), so given my circumstances, it wasn't ultimately the most convenient location, so I would caution prospective guests to investigate this point for themselves.
Overall, this was a very positive experience, and I'm thankful to Matt for making me feel comfortable and at home!
Matt was very welcoming. He was available during our stay if we had any questions. The apartment was as we expected, the building is quite old and that is visible in some decline but it has character and Matt has done a good job in making it feel homey.
The Kitchen was a bit less equipped than we hoped, so it makes it a challenge to do more than make tea/coffee and have breakfast. Luckily the neighbourhood is packed with great take-away places.
The neighbourhood is great, next to the park and just a few stops away from Manhattan. Prospect park was also a lovely place to escape from the city.
Matt very accommodating, apartment as described and right next to Prospect Park which was great. The only negative was the train station which was right next door and very loud.
Matt was very friendly and accommodating. The apartment is a very nice space, and amazingly located - prospect park, convenience stores and express subway station all on your doorstep. As a result it's a little noisy at night, but it didn't bother us. The bed isn't particularly comfortable, but couldn't fault the place otherwise. Would definitely recommend it.
