The house is conveniently located a short walk to bay beaches excellent for hiking, kayaking and fishing. Ocean beaches are as close as 17 minutes away by car with famed Ditch Plains Surfing Beach in Montauk only a 30-minute drive. Please view our detailed Guide Book for more Information.

Getting around

Traveling to and from East Hampton, you have two options on public transportation:

1) Hampton Jitney motor coach leaving hourly from various stops in New York City
2) Long Island Railroad leaving approximately three times per day from Penn Station

If you want to enjoy the area at your own pace, you can take the train to Southampton and rent a car from Hertz Car Rental across from the train station. Just tell Jake the Manger we referred you. Southampton is a short 30 minute drive to East Hampton.

Without a car? No worries! The local 10B bus runs immediately outside the front and brings you directly into the East Hampton village area where you can shop or just browse the lovely shops. The summer offers Hamptons Free Ride from the village that will take you around the business district and to the ocean at Main Beach (please check web site for map). Get the exercise that you’ve been longing for by renting a bike from Khanh Sports in East Hampton. They have a really cool single speed beach Cruiser with oversized tires for $25/day or a 21 speed Hybrid for $35/day. They offer weekly and monthly rentals as well and will take your reservation over the phone with a credit card. Ready for a night out? East West Taxi will gladly bring you to the restaurant of your choice. We supply guests with detailed maps and preferred shopping or restaurant choices.

  • Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! It was a perfect retreat from the city. The tranquility of the space quickly makes one feel centered. We were lucky enough to have a clear night where we got to see a majestic blanket of stars at the beach. Then coming home to a Jacuzzi and the most comfortable bed, with just one night I already felt rejuvenated.

Elissa is an excellent host - accommodating, kind and generous. She gave wonderful recommendations, and was a pleasure to talk to. Looking forward to our next visit!

  • Elissa is a superb hostess. Three friends and I stayed with her the weekend we ran the Hamptons Half Marathon and she was very attentive and helpful without being pushy. Best of all, she was polite and flexible during my many conversations regarding my arrival time and that of my three friends.

  • Elissa's house is beautiful. It is just a short walk away from an ocean cove and a small beach where there is good shell collecting. The room she put me in was beautiful. Perfectly clean, soothing, and quiet. The windows were open so I could hear the rain at night. The bathroom had a huge spa tub. It was like a boutique hotel. She left me fresh coffee, fruit salad, and toast in the morning. I look forward to returning to this beautiful part of the hamptons. Thanks Elissa for a great weekend!

  • Lovely relaxing stay not far from East Hampton - beautiful garden and Elissa was a great host - welcoming and unintrusive.

  • Elissa is a thoughtful and caring host and those qualities show in her home, in how she cares for her guests, and that will set the tone for your relaxing vacation.
Our stay with Elissa was wonderful, tranquil, and yummy. The room was great; I had no idea there would be a giant spa tub in our bathroom! We brought our dog with us and Elissa let us borrow an extra blanket and pillow so our dog could have a cushy weekend. The backyard was a beautiful place to sit out in the morning as we ate our breakfasts. We watched deer as we noshed. Thanks you so much!

  • Nice place! So quiet, clean and tucked away ... just what we were looking for. Just sorry we weren't able to take advantage of breakfasts and the yard, as our stay was brief and pre-programmed. Will definitely remember Elissa for the future!

  • My stay at Elissa's lovely home was even better than I could imagine. The indoor shower was wonderful and the outdoor shower was so healing in natural surroundings. Elissa's home is immaculate and every space indoors and outdoors is esthetically conceived.
I did not even know that anyone else was there. It was a perfect retreat where I could work on my book in the morning, have a nourishing breakfast on the deck and meet other guests and take outings to the beach, etc. during the day, I looked forward to returning to this sacred space to be quiet at night.

The beds (I tried both twins) were more comfortable than my own and the exquisite room was both a sanctuary and a sleep chamber.

Elissa kindly e-mailed me the best area restaurant information for my birthday celebration with family and the best driving directions from my home in Cornwall, New York.

I would highly recommend Elissa's to anyone who desires to be in peaceful aesthetic surroundings. Elissa made my stay very fulfilling and I hope to return in the future.

  • What can I say about Elissa and her beautiful home! If you were drawn to her listing in the first place, chances are this is exactly what you are looking for. Her home is very thoughtfully designed, kept very clean, with extremely comfortable beds- fresh, clean white sheets. I got some of the best sleep of my life during my stay. Elissa is an incredibly gracious host and gave us great recommendations for beaches, yoga studios, run trails, bike rentals, restaurants, etc. She knew that my friend and I were looking for a relaxing and natural East Hampton experience and guided us in the perfect direction every time. It was the perfect balance of staying in her home, meeting other visitors, and being completely independent at the same time. In the morning you can sit on her deck and drink french press coffee over a light breakfast- fresh fruit salad and delicious whole grain toast! In the evening we'd shop at farmer's markets, put together simple dinners in her vegetarian kitchen and eat in her backyard under the stars. I recommend sitting at the table next to the meditation pond one morning- it's heavenly. We have not stopped talking about how relaxing and lovely our stay was and already started planning our next trip back for the end of September. We left feeling rejuvenated and inspired! Very highly recommended for all- creatives and nature lovers especially- any time of year!

  • Elissa has a lovely home. She has clearly put a great deal of thought into her furnishings and decorations, creating a restful and peaceful space. She provides a simple yet delicious breakfast of artisan bread and fresh fruit salad (and coffee and tea), which is especially lovely to enjoy on the comfortable deck. The room we stayed in was spacious, with a big bathroom containing a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The bed is comfortable, though you should be aware that the bed is small-- a double/full -- so it can be a squeeze for two. (There is also a daybed in the room.) The room is the only guest room on the first floor, and it feels private. Finally, the home is in a lovely neighborhood, the Springs. It is both wooded and a block from the bay and breathtaking routes for walks/runs/bike rides-- and yet it is a simple 15 minute drive to the village of East Hampton and 30 minutes to Montauk. And finally, Elissa is a gracious host (and we enjoyed our conversations with the other guests, too). We highly recommend a stay at Elissa's home.

  • Elissa was flexible and accommodating. She had a fabulous bedroom for 3 with its own private wonderful bathroom. She also served a continental breakfast with delicious fresh fruit. I would absolutely return!
