Just south of the river, in Zilker neighborhood, we have a great home for your travel needs. Feel like you are part of South Austin! Walk to Barton Springs and Zilker Park, run the trail around Lady Bird Lake, mosey on over to Barley Swine :o)
We have a beautiful, eclectically decorated mid-century modern rancher that has an open floor plan, a gourmet kitchen, lots of windows, beautiful master bedroom (with Hastens bed) and en suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower.
Two bedrooms have queen-sized beds, and the third bedroom (children's room) has twin-sized bunk beds with pillow top mattress covers + a bathroom with a shower. The TV room has a fold down sofa for one and pocket doors for a little privacy from living area. There is a large comfy twin-sized sofa in living room. Two guest bathrooms are original to the era and have been maintained wonderfully - which adds character to our home. I feel our home is great for entertaining, has a lovely, small backyard, and plenty of toys for children that can be put away completely for adults-only! Other amenities: wireless internet, desk top iMac use, flat screen tv, DVD, toy closet for kids, 2-car carport, 2 hybrid bikes available, washer & dryer, dishwasher, wine fridge, AC, Nespresso machine, BBQ grill, swings, alarm system.
Zilker neighborhood is part of 78704 - the cool zip code in Austin. There are amazing dining experiences, coffee shops, theaters, shopping, food trailers and parks very close to our home. We are within walking distance of many of Austin's highlights - Barton Springs Pool, Lady Bird Lake jogging/walking/biking trail, Zilker Park (one of the largest urban parks in the US), Barton Creek Greenbelt, and the Alamo Drafthouse Theater.
We have a Russian Blue cat that goes in and out, and a fish. Both can be taken elsewhere.
Bus lines run frequently on Lamar Blvd that can take you downtown, and Austin has a great Car 2 Go car share system. During SXSW or ACL, all you have to do is walk down to Barton Springs Rd and grab a pedi-cab to the Convention Center or downtown!
Two bicycles, wi-fi, jetted tub, gas grill, fun patio for entertaining, gourmet kitchen, toys for kids, two-car carport, DVD BluRay, Apple TV, Apple airplay music from your gadget.
Zilker is a wonderful South Austin neighborhood. Zip code 78704 is highly-coveted for its funky, cool vibe. Good for hipsters and families alike, we love our neighborhood and its access to everything!
This is an STR-licensed property, only rented a few times a year, as it is our primary residence.

We spent SXSW 2014 at Jamie's family home and really loved the place. We felt at home the minute we walked in the door.
We enjoyed the ecological awareness of the family combined with a positive attitude towards technology, resulting in the NEST thermostats or a link to the eGauge website where we could track our carbon footprint, which we all made use of.
The house has a lot of space, I especially liked the three bathrooms. Jamie had given much thought to instructing us with a detailed list, plus kept in touch via email while we were there, she even shopped for our first breakfast.
Highly recommended. I would go back to their home any time.
Jamie's Austin home was our homebase during the ACL Music Festival - the location of her home could not be better! Close to Zilker Park and Barton Creek and a stone's throw from some great restaurant, bar and coffee options!
Jamie's house is impressive and looks even better in person than it does in the AirBNB pictures. Her modern home was more than spacious enough for our group of 8 people and was comfortable and hip! Finding her house was a breeze and we made full use of her outdoor patio, three full bathrooms, car port and stereo system (with Airplay).
As a host, Jamie was wonderful. Easy to communicate with and she even took time out to provide tailored suggestions for our group (Once Over Coffee!) and left us a bunch of local Austin treats - coffee, chips & salsa and beer for our stay!
We would definitely stay here again!
