We are in the heart of Paris with a spectacular view from the terrace. Many major sites are within easy walking distance. We are near public transport. It is very safe and our building is secure. The district is trendy and lively with many bars and restaurants open late.
You have a comfortable private bedroom, on a separate floor from the hosts, with a full sized double bed for 1 or 2 people, table, cupboard space and TV.

Stylish room home-stay in an artist's penthouse in central Paris near the Pompidou Center. The apartment has a veranda giving onto a terrace with beautiful views over the Paris rooftops to the Eiffel Tower and the Sacre Coeur. Easy walking distance to the river Seine, the Louvre, Pompidou Centre and Notre Dame. And direct train access from the airport. The apartment is accessed by a modern lift to the sixth floor. It is a very secure building with entry code and inter-phone.
You will be staying in a comfortable private bedroom near to the front door on a separate floor from the hosts. Your room has a full sized double bed, table, television and cupboard space. Please note that the rate is for two people using the double bed.
Free internet is available. There is also a kettle, complimentary tea and coffee. The bedroom is next to a shower room, to be shared with the hosts when we are present. Towels and bath robes are provided and there is a hair dryer and iron should you need them. There is also a washer-drier available at no extra cost.
When in Paris, the hosts live upstairs where there is a large living room where we work, as well as the kitchen, conservatory and small outside terrace.
If we are at home, we can offer a continental breakfast and share a coffee over breakfast with you to help you plan the day. When we are not at home, you are welcome to help yourself to cereal, muesli, bread or crispbread, milk, OJ, butter, in the kitchen, and to sit in the veranda for breakfast.
Simon loves cooking and by arrangement if we are home you can join us for supper (€22 for a 3 course meal). We also can extend the breakfast to a full English brunch on Sundays for €8/person.
This is the heart of Paris, on the edge of the pedestrianised Marais. Many of the major sites are within walking distance. You are a short walk from the Pompidou center, river Seine, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Left Bank, Place des Vosges, Picasso museum...
Our district is very lively with all the bars and restaurants you could possibly want. The neighbourhood is friendly and safe, including late at night, there are always people around. You should be aware that being in the centre of a lively area, sometimes there is street noise from outside at night. But the flat and the building are quiet.
There are designer shops, bars, jazz clubs, restaurants in abundance, and a supermarket near to the building. There is simply no better location to be in in Paris!
You can get to most places on foot. Should you need the metro or a bus there are many options on our doorstep, including the Chatelet-Les-Halles transport hub with metro and RER (Line B) nearby giving direct access to both Charles de Gaulle and Orly Airport. From Gare du Nord train station (Eurostar terminal) there is a direct metro line to Etienne Marcel metro station which is very close by the apartment. If coming by car there is a public car park underneath our building accessed from Rue Beaubourg. Velib bicycles are available 30m metres from the entrance.
Don't miss the view in the evening from our terrace across the Paris rooftops to the setting sun, the sparkling Eiffel Tower and the Sacre Coeur, it's magnificent. Have a marvelous stay!
When we are at home, you have private access to the bedroom and shared bathroom and you are welcome to have breakfast and/or an evening drink on the terrace. When we are away, you may use the space in the apartment and the terrace as you wish, paying attention please to good care of the apartment and to the tranquillity of our neighbours.
Interaction with guests
If we are present we have many tips and ideas for a great stay in Paris, and when we are away we provide maps, info on transport, museums, local shops, markets, and lots of restaurant suggestions, etc.
Other things to note
You are requested to please arrive within a maximum 2 hour time frame, that we ask you to communicate in advance. Arrival in the evening will require a late meeting payment for the housekeeper if we are not available. Thankyou.
Our aim is for you to enjoy the apartment. Please remember this is our home! We request no smoking indoors and no pets.
You may smoke outside on the terrace but please put butts in ashtray provided or dustbin. Please do not throw them over the wall!
When we are not at home, we ask that you kindly clear away any washing up and please do not disturb our belongings that remain in the apartment.
We enjoy meeting people from other places, and helping them explore this wonderful city. We are friendly, open and speak French, English and some Italian. Simon is an artist, environmentalist and loves cooking. Sarah is a business manager and loves poetry and art. We look forward to sharing our beautiful home with you.
