YOUR ROOM: has a new, beautiful, firm, Vera Wang queen-size mattress to sleep on, and for working there is a George Nelson "Action Office" desk and Eames stool. The room gets mid-morning to afternoon sunshine, has a big walk in closet and its own bathroom in the hall. The sheets are soft and your welcome will be warm. Feel free to spread out and work/be/enjoy the entire place, of course!

EXPECT: to have a quiet, immaculate, relaxed stay in a truly beautiful, eccentric, artists space. You may end up meeting some of my friends, all artistic, creative, successful, tech, designer weirdos. All with big hearts. Perhaps we can have a dinner party? In any case I can personally recommend the best restaurants, dancing, bars and adventures in SF. Come and go as you please, mi casa su casa. If you need any beginner yoga help I can also assist! I'm sometimes at my guys house and have an active social life but keep the house pretty quiet when you're around. Unless you want me to make your stay more social it'll be zen and chill. I work from home 1-2 days a week in my home office.

ORGANIC: I eat it, live it, clean with it.... :) I am not vegetarian but eat meat that was consciously raised and slaughtered.

BREAKFAST: If I'm around and not slammed I'll be cooking eggs and beans with bacon. Otherwise there is always cereal and stuff available.

EXTRA PEOPLE/BEDS: There is a day bed in the sunroom (would be cold in winter) and a great blow up mattress for the living room if extra guests need space. Also sofas. If you would like to take the entire place, including my master bedroom and en suite please refer to this listing here --->

TRANSPORT: Halfway between both 16th and 24th St BART Stations and right on several MUNI bus lines. Downtown is only minutes away by public transport (if you ever want to leave). Both Zip Car and City Car-share have multiple locations within the block. We are within 5 minutes drive of the 101 and 280 Freeways.

TO DO: street art and bicycle tours of the Mission. go to Twin Peaks. eat ice cream in the park. blob in the park. watch people in the park. just be in the park! go to the Exploratorium and the Academy of Sciences at night! walk up Bernal Hill. Eat downtown at The Slanted Door. See a movie at The Castro Theatre. Go to the MOMA and The Jewish Museum.

Fall in love with this light filled, upper level, Mission Sanctuary truly within steps of the finest dining, shopping and creativity San Francisco has to offer.

  • In making the booking Zoe was very prompt in replying and it was all super easy. Her place was just as gorgeous as the photos suggest and we absolutely loved staying there!! Perfect location for us, so much to see, and nearby bus made getting to other parts of San Fran easy.

As a host Zoe was a real hoot and went above and beyond in making recommendations, cooking us breakfast, and even taking us on an impromptu driving tour of San Fran neighbourhoods on our last day there! Even her cat Rabbit made us feel like it was our home too, if only for a few days.

Big thumbs up from us, anyone that stays here and/or with Zoe will have an experience to remember...

  • GREAT location, amenities, and hospitality. The apartment is very light, comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen. The place was spotless and nicely furnished with plenty of space to spread out and relax. Zoe was very accommodating and had great suggestions for bars, groceries, and restaurants in the neighborhood as well as the city. I highly recommend this apartment to others.

  • Zoe's apartment was breathtaking. It was conveniently located in the Mission to plenty of restaurants and bodegas with easy access to BART. We loved the apartment and had a really lovely stay there. Lots of sunlight and beautiful decor. Zoe was very nice and very hospitable. I would highly recommend this apartment.

  • I wanted to stay someplace other than a hotel where I could cook if I wanted and feel a bit more "at home" in SF. I absolutely picked the right place! Zoe has a beautiful place, perfect location, had everything I needed and more! Her cat is a perfect addition to your stay and is the BEST behaved kitty ever! Zoe was super easy to plan and talk to and is a generous host and made the whole trip perfect. I will be staying at her place again and look forward to it!! Seriously THE BEST!!!!!

  • Zoe picked every piece in this beautiful home with great taste. Though just one block away from Mission Street, San Carlos Street is quiet, so this apartment really is a sunny oasis - all the good restaurants are within walking distance. (Though the roomy kitchen has all the supplies one could wish for, so cooking is also an option).
Zoe is very welcoming and will give you every tip you need!

  • Zoé's place is the perfect place to stay in SF. Really cosy and confortable. You feel good there. It's really well-decorated and the kitchen is perfect (all the stuff you could need, only really good food : organic food etc.). The area is the best for me in SF, next to Valencia Street and Dolores Park and close to the main transportation (BART). The street is really cute and the neighborhood really pleasant.
It was a great experience here, I definitly recommande it ! Thanks Zoé for everything (and Rabbit the cat is so cute)

  • It's hard to review Zoe's beautiful apartment on practicalities alone, as the experience of staying with her is something altogether special. From the moment I arrived it felt like a home and over the course of living there for a month, I felt enormously connected to the house, the location and the company of Zoe and her amazing cat Rabbit. We were both literally in tears when we said goodbye...

Zoe is an extraordinary host and an incredible woman. She goes to great lengths to make sure you feel comfortable and supported in whatever you need to make your experience enjoyable. She provides great conversation and company when you need it and then leaves you to your own devices. It’s impossible to not feel entirely intoxicated by her affirming attitude and approach to life. I don’t think I will ever forget the experience of living with her.

The apartment itself has an excellent kitchen and laundry with everything you might need and beautiful areas to eat and relax. The dinning area is especially good for breakfast as is the back deck for an afternoon spritzer! It's located in a safe and convenient area of the Mission with easy access to the 16th Bart. Plenty of places to eat in surrounding Valencia/Mission Streets and a short walk to the Bi-rite for amazing produce and treats. For the exercise friendly or simply to picnic, Dolores Park is a few minutes walk.

It really doesn’t get much better than this!

  • A nice apartment in an even more interesting neighborhood.
The Mission district has a lot to offer with its many different cafès and restaurants.
Zoe was very kind and helpful, although I was not often present because I mainly came for business to San Francisco.
    A good experience!

writer, home designer, architecture buff,
I am a 39yr old creative who has dabbled in architecture, interior design, film production, acting, directing and writing, all while working as a model for the last 25+ years. I spend time between NYC, LA and San Francisco, and as much time in Mexico as I possibly can. I am passionate about design, travel, film, experiential stuff, adventures, people, textures, sunshine and beaches. I am a Burner (meaning: I attend Burning Man every year) I'm well travelled. Born in NZ, raised in OZ, lived in Paris, Milan, Hamburg, Tokyo, Hong Kong, NYC, Miami, LA, Fiji, Sydney, Melbourne, London and The Bahamas. But I really only speak English. I am a certified Yoga teacher and love to cook and host dinners. Meeting people and collecting friends is what life is all about. I love hosting and providing people with a loving, serene space from which to explore San Francisco and beyond. Your other hosts in the apartment are: Scott, my love, who travels a fair bit, and Rabbit, the Manx cat with the sweetest temperament.
