Come stay in our adorable guestroom in a restored 40's CA Bungalow by the BEACH!
We are located in a safe, quiet family neighborhood - minutes from Westcliff Beaches and Cowell's surf spot, but also a quick walk to downtown Santa Cruz! The little guest room is in the house with us :) The house is really big but cozy and insulated, with hardwood floors and designer bath, and a LARGE kitchen (you have your own mini pantry and a shelf in the fridge while you are here). Also featured is a budding collection of art by local Bay Area artists (including me), a concrete zen bathing tub, and 3 late 20's, early 30's professionals ready to point you toward the best restaurants, coffee shops, beaches, and music venues in Santa Cruz.
- wireless internet
-size FULL mattress
-cable in the living room
-a vast collection on vinyl to listen to during your stay
An organic egg and pancake breakfast (cooked by me!) is available for $15 for 1 or $20 for 2 - served in the garden when it's nice out..
The house is clean and mold free, no pets, no smoking.
*IMPORTANT NOTE - we have recently been contacted by the city about the transportation taxes due. Just like several of the other top listings who have "gone legit" , We are collecting the tax on arrival until airbnb finishes their new section for city taxes which is piloting in Portland right now! - it's $10/night. Please bring cash at check in :)
1. Please organize a check in time with me before arrival (call or text (phone number hidden))
We''ll choose a time that works for both of us (after 4 pm) and I will meet you in person and give you a full property tour!
2. No pets, no smoking
3.You are welcome to throw a load of clothes in the wash, but we keep the washer dryer hours
from 10 am - 10pm (they are a little noisy ;)
4. We have recently been contacted by the city about the transportation taxes due. Just like several of the other top listings who have "gone legit" , we need to start collecting the tax in cash on arrival because airbnb does not have a section where we can add this - it's $10/night. Please bring at check in. Thanks!!
5. For rentals longer than 5 days, a rental contract with me and a security deposit will be required (the amount will be proportionate to the rental term) and a "move out cleaning" will be required. OR... you can pay a cleaning fee of 100 and leave it up to the professionals ;)
Thanks and looking forward to meeting you!
Without a doubt, this has got to be the BEST Airbnb host/home in Santa Cruz. I used to live in Santa Cruz, and since I've been missing it so much I decided to plan a little weekend getaway for me and my younger sister, who has never spent any time there (until our little jaunt!). Michelle's home could not have been more welcoming, darling, COMFORTABLE, and overall perfect. Her warm energy and eagerness to accommodate made us feel instantly at home. The overall success and joy of our trip could not have been achieved if it were not for our wonderful lodging situation at Michelle's. From now on, I will always return to stay with her any time I visit my old, dear home. Additionally, this was my first Airbnb experience and it could not have been more perfect. My sister and I were both blown away by her creative and beautiful home and would 100% recommend anyone to stay with her!!
Michelle is a great, attentive hostess. The room in which I stayed was comfortable and nicely decorated, very much in line with the cool artwork throughout the house. Would definitely stay again.
What can I say about this experience? Staying in Michelle's home was rejuvenating and felt like I was living in a work of art. Her positive energy radiates throughout the house and exponentially made my trip even better.
Michelle is really nice and her room is so artistic with lots of her own paintings plus arty stuff made by other artists. Her house is near to the sea and in a beautiful and safe neighborhood. She helped me greatly with what to eat and where to go in SC. She even provides homemade cookies! Definitely would live again next time to SC.
The house attracted me deeply, it is a work of art. Everything is perfect, nice cookies and roommate. Micelle suggested me some nice shop and restaurant. You can walk to downtown or beach. Next time I come to Santa Cruz, I will choose this house again.
Michelle had prepared two gorgeous plates with ripened soft persimmons for me and another guest who was staying in the detached garden room. It had been my mom's favorite dessert so immediately it brought memories of her - such a simple and thoughtful gesture that meant so much to me. She gave me a complete tour and she shared just enough time to make me feel completely welcomed. The house is a working artists' dream - a place to live in and create, a work in progress that attracts creative people. The room is perfect for one person. I visited Santa Cruz for my work and the WiFi and room setup with desk comfortably helped me prepare for an very early morning appointment. I get chilly at night and thought I might be cold but Michelle had left extra blankets and I slept like a baby. The house is easy to locate and get to from the highway and it's a short drive or easy walk to a pretty area of the beach. It's late November so off-peak tourist season means easy parking! Locals were out, exercising, walking their dogs, fishing and visiting with friends. Lovely.

I am a mixed media artist here in Santa Cruz. I saved up and bought this house with proceeds from my paintings. Someday I might like to own my own B&B. but for now..AirBnB!
