The Space

House of Vera is located on the quite street of Jalan Merak Celuk Buluh in Lovina, Nothern Bali. This part of the island is ideal to know real Bali with its authentic life and only a few tourists at a time. Lovina is the only place in Bali where you can see dolphins jumping and playing in the open sea.

The house is just 2 minutes walking to the main street and 7 minutes to the beach and to all the major restaurants on Jalan Laviana; there you can find many small shops which are serving decent food. It's 5 minutes by motorbike to the center of Lovina.

Our house is very clean, the owner is very friendly and speaks sufficient English.
It is rented out to only one party at a time, be it for one room or two rooms which can accommodate up to four people comfortably. As a guest you will have full use of the house which includes a big dining room, living room, kitchen and the front yard with a garden.

It’s Very suitable for family with kids, but also nice for a couple who just want to relax and be away from the noise. We have 2 dogs named Scooby (a golden retriever) and Igo (a Balinese dog). They are very lovely, well groomed and safe dogs.

Just be there and enjoy your holiday with us.

  • Vera is one a great host. I would suggest her to everybody. She is nice, reserved, have a good hint for anything you wish to do around Bali and has a gorgeous garden house. Her place is fantastic and her cooking too. You can feel she is a person able to love those next to her. Lovina is a really nice place too, I found the people way much nicer than in the south. It is generally even cheaper than in the south (also for tours and goods to buy). For sure to be considered if going to Bali to see some more Indonesian place than Kuta.

  • Vera house , especially her garden is magnificent. Vera was very welcoming and warm . She helped us arrange for boat to see the dolphins at Lovina and for transport to go to Amed. Overall, her place is the place to relax and enjoy your vacation, meet the locals and play with her dogs , Scooby. Highly recommended.

  • My time at Vera's house, where I stayed for almost 1,5 months, was one of the greatest trips I've ever made. The house is really spacious and very clean, the veranda is nice and good for relaxing with a cup of tea or coffee. The garden is very beautiful and well cared of. I got the feeling that I am staying at a beautiful, calm and relaxing oasis where finally you can let yourself stop thinking about usual hustle and everyday stuff.
Vera is a person which is hard to meet nowadays. She is very kind, caring and not only ready to help but always solving any problem in an eye blick. Also she is a great cook and her banana pancakes are hard to forget. I very much enjoyed Vera's company, she is a very great host and person!
I liked Lovina, because it's one of the best places for long term stay, especially if you want to discover the whole Bali. And good of you have some work to do. Also, the northern part of Bali is rich in interesting sights and views. The dolphins watch is really great and inspiring. And it is the place to get to know real life in Bali. The prices are lower that in the rest of the island.
Beautiful Garden House of Vera is highly recommended!

  • We had a wonderful time staying with Vera. She was a lovely hostess: warm, gracious and kind. Her house was big and spacious, and her garden was indeed beautiful. We were greeted by a gecko when we entered the huge bathroom, and that was a nice, little surprise. The four-poster bed in the master bedroom was comfortable and adequate.
Vera's banana pancakes were truly delicious and it was a treat to eat them with a dash of honey and fresh fruit at the side. Vera gave us good advice on where to eat and shop, and we enjoyed her company when she showed us how to take a local taxi from the main road. Her house is located in a quiet lane set away from the big road.
We ate out the first three evenings and then, with Vera's help, discovered a couple of "warung" in the vicinity. Thereafter, we brought food home and enjoyed our dinner at home.
The beach was about a five-minute drive from Vera's house and we went dolphin watching one early morning. The sunrise was a brilliant affair.
The most memorable moments were shared in companionship with Vera and her two friendly dogs: we sat on the verandah and listened to the falling rain. It was peace and contentment.
Vera's home is not simply a house. It is a warm haven, filled with gentle loving in a garden of tranquillity.

  • We are so happy with our choice of spending a month in Vera’s villa. When we arrived it was better than we imagined it would be. The space is much bigger than the pictures make it seem especially the bathroom. We were greeted with fresh fruit, clean towels, and other goodies upon our arrival. The first week that we spent there, Vera made us a delicious breakfast each morning. Her banana pancakes are the best that I have had in Lovina. Vera is a lovely person and was incredibly helpful during our stay. She provided us with contacts for drivers, directions for restaurants and stores, and helped us order food. She even invited a friend over who brought some Balinese clothing for us to try on and buy in the comfort of our house (much better than the stores near Lovina Central). If we ever ran out of gas or water, Vera had it replaced quickly at a very low cost. She shared local fruits and rice pudding with us when we both became ill. We really enjoyed talking with her and getting to know her. Igo and Scooby are lovely and calm dogs and gave us great company while we were at home which happened to be very often because the villa was so peaceful. It is large, clean, with a modern bathroom. The kitchen has all necessary appliances with the exception of an oven, but who would want to bake in this heat? The wifi was good. We were able to check our emails regularly and even (website hidden) with family members. It can be a bit slow sometimes but it never bothered us. Bed sheets and towels were changed regularly and Vera kept the villa clean and tidy. The outside porch area was our favourite and we would often sit out there for hours reading, surrounded by the beauty of her garden. There are many birds, butterflies and dragonflies to watch as well. The villa is situated in a somewhat quiet area (you can never escape the sounds of roosters anywhere), off the main road. There is a street of restaurants about a 5 minute walk away that leads to the beach. The central area of Lovina (dolphin statue) is about a 20 minute walk away, but we preferred to stay closer to avoid tourists and overpriced restaurants. There are some great quality restaurants nearby including Warung Made and Warung Dolphin. There is also a little shop down the street, about a one minute walk, where we would buy snacks and drinks for very cheap. There is also a bigger market up the street where we could buy ingredients for meals. There are a lot of activities to do in the area including dolphin watching, snorkeling and diving, trekking, waterfalls and temples. Although we kept ourselves busy with the beach and activities, we spent much of our time at the Villa simply reading our books and relaxing. Our month in Bali couldn’t have been better. Thank you so...

  • Vera's garden house was a great place to stay in Lovina. She was very helpful when it came to setting up transportation and made us feel very welcome. She and her dogs, Scooby and Igo, were gracious hosts :)

  • Vera was a very friendly host and the dogs so cute! The flat is very spacious, surrounded by the well taken care of garden and a wall, which makes it quite secluded. The center of Lovina is within a walkable distance – I recommend taking that walk at least once via the beach!

  • Vera was a wonderful host. She welcomed us into her beautiful home and made breakfast for us every morning. Her dogs, Scooby and Igo, were super adorable and friendly. Vera's house is in a nice, quiet location, but there were plenty of restaurants nearby for us to walk to. Thank you for having us, Vera!
