Eric very friendly guy! Location is ideal for going anywhere, just a couple of minute from biggest metro station.
The unit is located in the heart of the city with access to everything. The unit was comfortable and we had a good stay.
Eric was a great host. I was in town for a meeting at the GWCC and the location of Eric's apartment was perfect. Everything was as described. He was very accommodating. I highly recommend staying at his place.
Eric was a great host. He was courteous, responsive, and very hospitable.
His apartment is right downtown and within an extremely short walking distance of Five Points station. The internet was fast, and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and spices.
I'd definitely stay again.
Eric was amazing and the place was great.
Eric is just the nicest host and very helpful with anything that you need. He made sure to stock the condo with all the amenities required and even provided an air mattress for the third party of our group. His condo has great views of the city and is located right in the heart of downtown Atlanta - perfect for Dragon*Con! It's a 6-10 minute walk from the Hyatt as well as just about everything you might need; also, it is literally right across the street from a Marta station. One thing to note: this condo is downtown and is near train tracks and loud traffic... it can be a little loud at night but is an amazing deal and comfortable stay if you want to be right in the heart of Atlanta.
Though the apartment was spacious enough, I cannot in good conscience recommend Eric Black as a landlord.
First, I'll mention some positives. Eric was responsive when the AC broke and I appreciated that. Before arriving, he asked me what I needed for my stay and I asked if he had a water heater (for tea). He had one waiting for me when I arrived.
I rented from Eric as part of an extended agreement. I was going to be in Atlanta for a legal internship and made arrangements to stay for 2+ months at a reduced rate. We agreed I would have the option of extending my trip a week because of another job I had not yet heard back from.
Unfortunately, the apartment was not ready when I arrived. Eric was still cleaning up and his things had not been moved out. I helped him take his things to his car and we were amicable.
Despite renting me the apartment (at a *very* high rate for downtown Atlanta, I later learned), Eric continued to live out of the space. Multiple times, he asked me to bring oils, clothing, etc. to his place of work because he had left them behind. These meetings were last minute, poorly planned, and Eric would almost always show up later than he had said he would. He was rude to me and seemed to feel entitled to things despite the fact that I was working full-time and traveling a lot. He would often text me to say "I need X by Y," as if I wasn't paying him a sizable sum to rent the apartment and doing him many favors by repeatedly complying. I regret doing so.
I was most disturbed to find out that Eric had been in the apartment without my permission when I wasn't there. He had left 10+ winter coats in the small closet and I had moved them to the apartment's storage closet. When I saw him at the gym he asked about the jackets and how they were doing. He would have had no way of knowing that I had moved the jackets unless he had entered the apartment.
I did wind up having to stay another week. He demanded I meet him at Bank of America for a money order and I complied. I did the math according to what I had been paying. The final week came to $367. He demanded $500. He said I would be renting at the weekly rate at that point, not the monthly rate.
There were other problems. I had to bring him his mail and he never got me a working fob which was a source of frustration all summer.
The location is OK. The surrounding area is not very safe. There is not a lot to do in terms of dining and entertainment. I was very fortunate to have friends with cars.
I have lived in a lot of apartments (the fate of a traveling student) --never like this.
Eric has such a convenient place to stay. We were in town for a trade show and had 15 nights here - right in the middle of downtown and just steps from everything.... Eric is a great host and communications are excellent.
Eric was great! He was very helpful and accommodating. The space was fairly close to everything and there were some really great restaurants near by. The space was clean and had a great view.
Eric was a great host and everything was as described. Eric called me ahead of the visit to make sure there wasn't anything else I needed, met me promptly when I arrived, and went out of his way to come back and bring an air mattress to accommodate a guest. As described in other reviews, it is a perfect location if you are staying in the downtown area as it is walking distance to all the major downtown attractions and right around the corner from the Five Points MARTA stop. There are occasional trains and other downtown noise, but that comes with the territory. The apartment is in a secure building (key fob to get into the building and use the elevator). It's not the Ritz Carlton so don't stay here if that's what you are looking for. But if you are looking to stay right downtown in a clean apartment, with a courteous host, for a long weekend for the price of one night at the Ritz, I recommend.
